  • This week I sit down with Alex Limanowka, a relationship expert who works with cross-cultural couples. We chat about the most and least compatible cultures in a relationship, the biggest struggles cross-cultural couples face, and how to deal with those struggles.

I enjoyed that interview very much. So much basic insights and experiences. I'm now reading the book of Batja Mesquita which Alex mentioned. Great thanks to both of you for the episode!

34:14 - tips from the therapist on how to succeed in a multicultural relationship
1:29:00 - raising kids (whether together or as co-parents after breaking up), aging parents, think in advance and ask yourself those questions as soon as possible to know the direction you want to go given that you're in a cross-cultural relationship and the challenges that may arise, etc.
1:31:34 - understand your own culture and its impact on you, prepare your "offer" (know what you offer: aka what are your values, who are you), be open & ask instead of assuming (be *curious* about their culture), don't treat one culture as superior (both cultures are important), your partner and your partner's culture should be valued equally, shape your own identity, don't be afraid to ask big like questions ("what are we going to do if__") to get better understanding,
