    Enjoyable description and drive. Over the years, I have had 4 Porsche's. 1984- 911 --1987 turbo- Currently have a 1991 964 C4 and a 2005 996 Turbo. All are Cab's.. I have enjoyed each one, but my lease favorite was the 1987 Turbo, mainly because it was a 4 speed and pulled like a logging truck until over 2000 rpm, then it felt like a rocket sled. Some may say that was exciting and it was. But any driving in the city was difficult. Maybe you did not get to the 964 engine, but it is a twin plug. Two distributors and two plugs per cylinder? It feels very connected and wants to rev and be driver. Finally the 996 turbo is quite civilized and has a tiptronic transmission.... My first automatic. It wants to run and rev and will go much faster than most can handle. Keep up the good work?

      @@RossOnCars When I started canvassing for sale 996's , I had decided to attempt to purchase one because they had depreciated so much. I considered regular 996, then looked at turbo's and finally found a Turbo S. They had it priced at $65,000 US. I had it stored in my research when I got a message they had lowered the price by $10,000. That is when I got in action and purchased it. The 996 has 24,000 miles. I did not plan on getting an automatic, but that was available. I have to say I do like the automatic tip, a little surprising. I did receive the original invoice from 2005 and was surprised that it sold for $157,000. Back when that was more real money than today. So, it depreciated about 2/3. of original. Currently the prices have increased and seem to be above $70,000.. Does cause me to consider selling, but what would I replace it with? Maybe just wait till they depreciate again? Not sure.... Definitely the pick of the 996’s for sure - a very pretty 911.

      Hi Ronald, excellent question. Opinions vary, it's quite personal. I should be able to give you an informed answer soon when I drive the 964RS.

    I owned 1990 c4 here in Florida and though had a few running issues wish I had kept it. More recently owned and was totaled a 2004 C4S. Nice car but the 964 will remain the one I miss the most of all my sports cars.

      I had a C4S too - 2010, lovely car, got some fab photos of it on an Italian road trip pre-kids. Quite fancy a 991 at the moment, but the 964 is a keeper.

    As a 964 owner, the C4 is the most boring one. It's too heavy and has nothing of the charismatic 911 feeling that the C2 has. That being said, those are garbage compared to a modern one. Leaking oil, bad driving position, always an issue. People just speculate with those. But today 120k also gets you a 991.2 S which is a much better car.

      @RossOnCars  Před měsícem

      Mine doesn't leak oil or have a bad driving position. The feeling you get, on a dual carriage way, at 7,000 revs in third gear is unmatchable in a modern 911. You are right about the 991.2 S though - it will probably be my next 911, but I'm keeping the 964!

    A 964 is not a 911.
