  • Donald Trump’s lawyers argue the former president has “absolute immunity” from legal charges related to the Capitol invasion, a defense Harvard Law School professor Laurence Tribe calls “a remarkable claim.” Prof. Tribe says Donald Trump answers to the American public, and that “one of the ways you answer to the people is by being held accountable for the damages that you do when you aim an angry mob at members of Congress.”

The orange guy told them to not believe what they are seeing and hearing, and they listened. 60 court cases dismissed about bogus election fraud claims was not enough to convince them that there is nothing to be found there. The damage is done. A large part of the American population is living in a world based on “alternative facts” as Kellyanne fittingly called it. The few instances of voter fraud that have been discovered, have ironically been committed mostly by Republicans, I wonder why FOX News, Newsmax, OAN, etc. are not reporting this?

Therefore, it must be assumed Trump knew that Pence's role on January 6 was ceremonial, just to rubberstamp the results of the election. When he told his supporters they needed to fight for their country, and told them he'd be with them in going to the Capitol building, Trump must therefore have been inciting a mob in a coup.
