You have no intention of making any claim other than the ridiculous first grade level “whataboutisms” dood go read a book. You’re trying to act like some philosophical genius when the only thing you know how to say is a sophomoric “whataboutism” fallacy.
      Comparing one justice who’s made a statement about their politics to another justice who actively used his position of authority to subvert the government from finding out about his wife’s involvement in an insurrection and covering up his own involvement is the absolute base level of ignorant dishonesty. Just an intentional contrarian you are.
      It’s alarming you can’t see just how gas lit you’ve been and how much gas lighting you’re trying to do right now. Just shameful. You’re a disgrace to institutions everywhere.

      I am really bothered by the attitude of the dumpty court! I taught high school and college and like to think I set an example of a strong, independent woman, and am so proud of what my students have achieved, especially the young women who came from extremely conservative homes. I taught in the reddist area of my state, so I know how hard many had to fight their families even to go to college. To set women back to illegal abortions goes against everything I believe in. Abortion is NOT a decision one person, much less nine of them, can make for another. It is a personal decision based on a personal belief system and the circumstances involved. The first time a fifteen year old told me she was pregnant, I could have cried for her. She did not have an abortion, but the choice was HERS! Vote Blue and be aware that the number of “jurists” on SCOTUS CAN BE INCREASED, AND SHOULD BE!

Since they lie and cheat as well as distorting the truth, they sacrifice the good of this great nation. The power is still with the people who have discerning mind to elect our representatives. I served as a small cog of one of the government institutions for 24 years. I think our governing system is very good. However, we need honorable and capable people to lead. In order to prove perjury, you have to prove that they lied. The only way to nail that one is by obtaining evidence of a prior statement that contradicts what they said on the stand, under oath. Most of these would-be Justices have been careful to never speak on a hot topic that may come up in a confirmation. Clarence Thomas was always very careful to never state his personal biases in writing or with anyone he did not absolutely trust to keep their mouth shut. Like wife Ginny, for example lol.

Over the decades there has been a shift in education- sacrificing the humanities and what they have to offer- replacing it with target oriented degrees. In Hungarian we call it 'profession barbarians'. Outside this targeted area, there is little if any exploration of ideas. No doubt the narrowing of horizons has been greatly aggravated by the cost of education. The result is a rather sad palette regarding ideas

    Lawrence is a man of great mental capacity. He is caring, compassionate and open minded. His understanding of freedoms, Justice and humanity is beyond the comprehension of every man I’ve ever known. The Supreme Court justices who scorn women for doing what is necessary for personal survival and for seeking their human right to privacy and bodily autonomy are emotionally, mentally and morally ignorant. There is not one shred of evidence to indicate that any one of these five justices has the judicial sense, moral clarity and human decency required to remain in their unelected, outrageously privileged positions. We the people have United to pass judgment on our “supreme” judges’ abusive, unethical decision. From this point forward we have zero faith or interest in anything they have to say on any of our nation’s serious issues.

    • @possumverde
      @possumverde Před 2 lety +1

      Not really well said at all if you understand our government and legal system. Our Supreme Court interprets the law, our Congress writes it. The Roe v Wade ruling was a weakly supported interpretation that has always been vulnerable to other equally strong arguments. Particularly those (including the leaked draft) based on the 10th amendment which holds that anything not directly addressed in the constitution is to be a matter for the individual states to deal with... abortion rights are not directly addressed in the constitution (an interpretation was made that they were implied in Roe v Wade.) In such situations, Congress is responsible for cementing a precise law in the constitution via legislation if they want to be sure it holds. Rather than do so, Congress chose the politically expedient cop out of letting it ride on a fairly weakly supported interpretation while attempting to manipulate potential justices into doing their jobs for them by getting them to promise they wouldn't consider challenges to it (which is highly unethical to ask as well as for a justice to agree to as all challenges should at least be open for consideration.) None of the justices here ever directly stated that they would uphold the Roe v Wade ruling regardless of the circumstances. Had they done so, they definitely shouldn't have been made justices.
      Long story short, Congress didn't do their jobs (as usual) and are now trying to deflect the blame (again as usual) onto the justices... with the help of sympathetic media outlets.
      Edit: Just to be clear, I myself am pro-choice. I just don't like it when anyone tries to pass their responsibility for something off on others who (whether I like the outcome of their actions or not) are not technically doing anything wrong.
