Sindri struggling to unstring and re-string Atreus's bow really says something about how strong the kid is, considering Sindri's not only a grown-ass dwarf, he's a blacksmith.

33:05 according to the director, the dwarf spitting at the boat on the bridge is Odin in disguise 😂
I love how Kratos has become just a little less cold in this game and actually makes small talk. Now he compliments Sindri's works, commends Atreus for his improvements instead of solely criticizing his flaws, etc.. It's a small change but I think it shows his growth as a parent and a person very well.
I like that too.
If it helps, he does some of these changes in the previous game. My favorite moment is Atreus having a moment of profound wisdom, Mimir happily telling Kratos that the "lad's found his equilibrium", and when the little brother asks what that means, Kratos replies, "It means you speak wisely, Atreus. And that is good to hear."

(also that particular compliment you quoted is after Kratos is finally fully honest with Atreus - not just telling him he's part god - and both of them finally understand each other after their marked character development.)

It's interesting that Atreus assumed how Kratos spoke to Faye. Little did he know that Spartan women are just as ruthless and badass and Kratos was very reserved around his Jotun wife.
Spartan women were famous for their skill at cutting remarks and sarcasm. And Kratos’s type is totally a woman who can kick his ass and call him out on his BS.
I like that when we finally get to see Faye and Kratos together in flashback, Faye is very gentle and patient with him, but she also doesn’t let him get away with anything. You can see why he took her lessons to heart
The reason they provide for your weapons loosing powers in this game, is that "Fimbulwinter wears down all things, even stone" as said by kratos. Im thinking this means all his weapons slowly loose sharpness. Also when you got your first runic attack in this game, Mimir says "Shame wimbulwinter ruined all of our previously gathered runes" or something like that...
I was wondering why our upgrades didn't transfer over.
That's a good compromise in previous games they'd just straight up take all your weapons away but now they let you keep all your shit but you have to power them up again.
mimir also said that "its a shame that fimbulwinter made us lost all that magic we've acquired" o rsomething like that, he says it on the way to the temple

I love the realism of this game, even the finer details of Sindri messing up unstringing the bow and stopping his dialogue to say “ow”, all realistic things. Also stringing a recurve bow is actually quite difficult, not to down on Atreus’s strength, but it’s quite tough.

People like to watch Jack for his comments and reactions, so it makes sense that he'd miss a thing or two because he is trying to put on a show. The way Brok was laughing at Mimir being subjected to that massive beam of light was just waaaaay too funny. I know people like Brok, and I gotta say, they are some of the funniest people I have ever met. And then the way Kratos said "I also used it for light." To Sindri when he mentioned he wouldn't need the Bifrost anymore was kind of cute. Never thought I'd use Kratos and Cute in the same context. LOL.
Just got finished watching Jack's original God of War series and I laughed so hard at this part because at the end of it, Kratos picks up the head off the bifrost room floor after having instructed the dwarves to watch him and he complains something about them having "taken a bunch of measurements and then leaving him there" 😂😂 It all ties together

For anyone wondering, the second poem is about baseball. 2 armies, each 9 players strong, orb in air, branch in hand (ball, bat), a swing, a collision, the spectators stand, they fight for 9 nights and 9 days (nine innings), running then waiting then running again. Also if you look at the cover of the book when he picks it up and the drawing in the codex, there’s an image of a baseball.

Mainly because both characters will be far more independent from eachother in this game. I'm halfway through and I can't remember the last time Kratos and Atreus were actually together for something. (And yes, Atreus does become a playable character)

Loving Kratos, Atreus and Mimir's character development from the previous instalment. Kratos seems like he's opening up more, especially when he gave Mimir advice to not blame himself and he's really stepped into the role of father. He was so unforgiving of himself but since learning that he can be a better person despite his wrongdoings he extends that kindness to his son and friends too. Atreus is so capable now! I like that he is still very much his own person with his inquisitiveness, compassion and cleverness but he is still a young man looking up to his father. He walks his own path but now he invites his father to walk with him, and that Kratos goes with him on his quest to find Tyr shows how much trust they have developed. It was also nice to see Mimir, who is so wise and witty normally, have a moment of insecurity and remorse. He is usually the person doling out advice so to see him on the receiving end for once really brings to attention that he too is just a person.

Their relationships have developed so much since the previous God of War, it's so incredible to see how heartwarming their relationship has become in the time frame between the last game and this one, not to mention how natural it sounds
One thing that really stood out to me is how much Mimir and Sindri call Kratos by name. Unless I'm forgetting something, the only times Kratos' name was said aloud in the last games were in Helheim by the fake Zeus, and once by Freya during the Final Boss. It's not even clear if Brok and Sindri KNOW his name - he never introduces himself, and Mimir clearly didn't know it before Helheim since he's supposed by him being the Ghost of Sparta. It just goes to show how much trust has built up.

It was really heartwarming when Kratos called Mimir brother. Kratos seems much friendlier in this game than how he was in GOW 2018.
I mean you also have to understand judging by how the game starts with freya pissed and them knowing she was nearby means it’s been atleast a year since the last game ended so they’ve definitely gotten close during the time hell maybe longer atreus looks like 15-16 ish whereas he was 11-12 in the last game

The writers did a really good job showing Kratos's love for his son Atreus, considering his tough personality. The times he holds back his anger, the light touches & even the way he looks at him is so sweet. This game looks amazing already.

I found it hilarious how Jack never realized the poems were about other things, the first was Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, and the second was baseball
I really like the fact that this quest really gave more depth to Mimir's character. To be able to have that feeling of guilt and be so relatable and trying to right his wrongs and even if he doesn't fully right it he still feels that like something's missing makes him very much more human than he actually is.
I love how protective Kratos is of atraus because he wasn't with his daughter and he accidentally killed her so he's trying his best
I didn’t realize that I only did brief overviews of the lore before I played the game before this one. Kratos making up for past mistakes is a vibe

I love how the most unrealistic aspect of these games isn't the giant monsters and God's, but the simple fact that the boat is never tied down and somehow stays put.

As for the 'they don't explain why you lose your stuff in this one', I think they already did. In the previous episode, I think it was Atreus who said that Fimblewinter was wearing down everything, even stone. I think the excuse this time is because Fimblewinter, as an apocalyptic magic winter, is so bad that it's wearing down even enchantments over time.
Mimir also said it. Twice.

Just realised ( started my second play through) at the end of last game mimir mentioned the dwarves took “uncomfortable measurements” while Kratos and Atreus were gone . The machine was probably what it was for
