God of War Ragnarök is an action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and the sequel to 2018's God of War. Based on Norse mythology, the game will be set in ancient Scandinavia and feature series protagonist Kratos and his teenage son Atreus. - Hry
Jack letting Kratos sit there awkwardly eating sausages for three straight minutes because he didn't realize he was back in control was an absolute delight
this ep could've lasted a lot longer if he didn't realise XD
neither did i realise
it was and i wish it lasted longer
@@KoolKaiden0407 That would have been nice
Haha yes that part was soo good. The fact that he couldn't tell that it transitioned into gameplay was very wholesome. Just makes the game even cooler. They did such an amazing job with the engine, graphics, and animation.
You’d think after TWO former gods of war are actively trying to to not start a war Atreus would get the message
Atreus is literally the last giant (as far as they know) and since the beginning of the game, he said he's been having dreams and bad feelings about what's coming soon. He's having premonitions of the war and ragnarok, plus all of the shrines he's visited and all of its secret messages shows what needs to be done to win the war. If I were them, I would listen to Atreus more. They might evade the war now, but if they don't act accordingly, the war is going to come to their doorstep regardless. Kratos is acting like Faye's words in that dream didn't mean anything, when she was specifically telling him to act
@@procastination_is_my_passi4182 ok, now that I’ve caught up with the most recent episode, I agree. I feel bad for Atreus right now, even if he’s doing something that might not be the smartest choice.
@@procastination_is_my_passi4182 i mean... the main theme of the first game literally says "trust the boy"
@@procastination_is_my_passi4182 -Eh, to be fair, prophecy and fate are not exactly 100% guaranteed sciences in the GOW franchise. However, I imagine the larger issue for Kratos and Tyr is the contents. Atreus, by trying to follow the prophecy, is advocating for genocide as the solution. The ONLY solution. He won't consider another option besides the prophecy. Meanwhile, Tyr and Kratos want to look for another way, looking to avoid war (and genocide), which isn't surprising coming from to war laden gods. In the story of the game, is Atreus "right"? Yeah, sure. But looking at the entire context before this? No, not at all.
Edit - Another point, towards Tyr specifically. Not only does he want to avoid war, justifiably so, he's not just being asked to join. A "random" child is asking him to lead the armies and win the battle that will inevitably end up with a realm destroyed, if the prophecy is to be believed. Why would he want to listen?
Comment was made at about the end of this episode, so this comment might not stand as well going forward, but I'm basing it off only what I've seen so far, as have the characters.
@@1_atlas_7 oh man wait til you learn more about tyr 🤐 it would make sense why he’s SO against starting the war and starting ragnarok 👀

Atreus having to explain Kratos's "video game looting" mentality to Tyr is the best kind of fourth wall break, and I want more of it lol

I thoroughly enjoy Tyr commenting on Kratos constantly going in the wrong direction to collect stuff
A lot more games are having your companions and supporting characters do that lately. My hope is that it won’t stop being amusing too soon.
And Atreus' comment to it XDD
He's like "Yeah, he does that"
That’s Odin
“Oh, there goes XYZ, doing his thing again, don’t worry you’ll get used to it” is in general a fun group dynamic when someone new joins the party. But I think the brilliance here is that companion characters keep carrying on conversation while you go off looking. Yes, they comment on it, but it’s not always the focus - it just makes it feel natural and like they’re genuinely enjoying banter because they’re *characters* and not paper cutouts standing around.
Would that class as a 4th wall break
Forgot Sean was colorblind. I was confused why he didn't just throw the axe when the pink line turned cyan during the puzzle in Alfheim. So funny. Keep it up, Jack.
I was gonna say, it was hilarious how he just gave up on the elevator puzzle in Alfheim, but it was also driving me nuts that the line was literally changing color to indicate that he was good to throw the axe. Plus it even locks on to let you know that you've got the right angle, and he even points it out. Still was funny to watch though

The story of Brok dying and Sindri doing his best to reclaim his soul explains so much of Sindri’s germaphobia and dislike of being touched.
I mean the germophobia was explained in the last game about being told about germs. But this story DOES further explain why he hates being touched. It's more than just for germaphobic reasons. It's also trauma...tho most phobias come from trauma...

And because a wich showed him that bacteria exists
he created a microscope out of exotic materials with up to 100,000x magnification and finally found out bacteria exists.
Actually
I think he was a clean freak before then? Obviously I could be wrong as I haven’t gotten that far into the video yet

It's interesting to think that I first knew of ProZD as some guy who makes funny skits, and now he's doing professional voice acting for such a legendary series.
I love how when he thinks he hears his dead wife in the light, they show all the wrinkles and lines in his face. He looks so old in that scene. Like he's getting far too old and just wants to rest, just wants to be with her. And I love every second of it.
Okay but I was thinking the same thing! Like when they showed him in that scene I was like "Why does he look so OLD?! Has he ALWAYS looked that old and tired?!" But it was very well done for setting the scene and showing just how exhausted and weary he is.

The frozen lightning was caused by the Leviathan Axe and Mjolnir clashing, as the axe was made to match the hammer. Clearly it's doing its part well, freezing Thor's thunder in a truly AWESOME spectacle.

i mean atreus and kratos are both using knives, maybe it's just the only utensil brok and sindri had at the time, but it's still funny
actually that's a really nice historical touch, before the days of the Enlightenment, people used knives the same way we use forks now. It wasn't until after the pope of the time declared that knives were weapons of war and shouldn't be used at the table that forks were adopted instead, also yes im a turbo nerd how could you tell :p
@@borosbutredtape OMG that’s so cool, i had no clue.
@@borosbutredtape And then Confuscious decided that forks, too, were too violent a utensil and adopted chopsticks.
@@seminark then chopsticks became weapons of war now people eat with fingers
"Atreus! Dab me up, Boy!"
Brok: "All these bastards with their souls cut up is creepin me out!"

Seeing Kratos being absolutely befuddled by a talking squirrel got my sides hurting
the pure shock on Atreus' face when hes holding Ratatoskr is amazing too
