    If it weren’t for the internet and outlets like this I’d have never become catholic. I was nondenominational Christian, but not practicing, I never went to church, not even for Christmas and Easter, and wasn’t actively praying. The intellectual arguments for Catholicism led to my heart being opened and I now go to mass three times a week, I’m in the choir, I pray a rosary daily, I have a small business where I hand make rosaries, I go to adoration weekly, and I’m officially a catechumen. Praise God for the changes in my life and how close I am to him now

      Beautiful. I am a cradle Catholic and had a conversion in February 2022. Started praying the Rosary, going to Eucharistic adoration as often as possible, frequent Mass, started fasting, dropped my mortal sins and addictions. All thanks to the grace of God

      @@Darth_Vader258That wouldn’t be good but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Sometimes intellectual arguments can lead you to be open to God or even lead you closer to him, but I agree that it shouldn’t be the focus.

    Maybe there should be an episode on how the Internet is helping. Honestly you three have helped me fall in love with being catholic and encourage me to learn more. I made my confirmation in February and look forward to your show and going to Mass every week. You introduced me to the Hallow app, The Chosen show, Bible in a year with Father Mike. What I like about this original comment, was that it wasn't a rebuttal to this video. But rather, to compliment this video. As much as I believe big Tech, absolutely has a motivation to attack Christianity, the irony is I have learned all of my Latin prayers on CZcams. When I haven't been able to attend my Sunday obligation in person. The internet allows me to make my tithe ( shamefully its never the 10% monthly income expectation) and participate with a parish that allows me to focus on the Eucharist, who is our Lord Jesus Christ. Lately that has been Father Schmidt, in Duluth MN. Also ironic, who is literally on the opposite side of the country of where I am.
      I really hope they make a video after this, based on Becca's idea, of how the internet has been a tool, that has helped guide me back to Christ.

I go to church on Sundays again & am trying to teach my children about our faith. Videos have shown me a various variety of ways to do these things. But, I pray for those that don’t take advantage of the available content online to strengthen what we do & how we live when Mass is over.❤️🙏🏼✌🏼

      H e isn't, he's trying to correct the schismatics and gnostics. If this doesn't work, then no one is to blame except those people who dont understand the gravity of this situation.

    • @Fiona2254
      @Fiona2254 Před 4 měsíci +1

      I miss TLM. We used to attend once or twice a month. Drove 45 min one way to attend and if it was permitted in my parish I’d attend every week. It is sad that we can’t choose to attend it if we want and I have only met a handful of people who are “angry and in schism” because of it. There are people on CZcams who are this way and gather to them those who are angry. It is sad that because of a few the rest of us can’t participate.
      TLM is what brought my husband into church, after really not caring about it his whole life because his family was thrown out due to a family member being a mason. He didn’t have a family like mine who went weekly, very devout parents to guide him yet ONE Latin mass showed him the way back. He became confirmed at the age of 60 last October 25, 2023.
      Regardless of the few, the many should benefit from it instead of limiting it. Fortunately we go to a very beautiful Holy Mass celebrated with incense, many altar boys and a NO as close to TLM as possible. Our priests dress like priests and our nuns are dressed and act like nuns should, sweet and strict when necessary.

    • @Fiona2254
      @Fiona2254 Před 4 měsíci

      I want to specify that TLM I used to go to was in Austin. That cathedral was full, people standing in the back, every time we went to it. It is sad that Bishop Vasquez has decided to stop this when Austin is a city in dire need of holy Catholics to help. The mass was full of young families with children, many children. A live community that will now won’t have what brought them in. I hope the mass they get is as close to TLM as possible so they can continue to worship the way they want.

    You guys had me rolling this morning! The talk about laughing being bad was something that struck a chord. One of the reason my husband and I started down the path to conversion years ago was because a priest made a mistake addressing the congregation after mass. He caught himself and burst out laughing... at a midnight mass... Coming from a Southern fundamentalists background, we had never seen such grace and joy at the same time from a pastor. It made us instantly comfortable and reminded us it was okay to err and laugh about it. This was in a HYPER conservative and traditional parish and with all of the pomp and circumstance of the mass and at that moment... He was still able to laugh and make us all laugh in the moment.
    And in the conclusion, you forgot the fake teeth... "fat, modernist, gay... with fake teeth..."
    Continue the wonderful work! You are a joy to listen to and bring joy to my mornings! May God bless you all and I hope that you and your families are blessed this Christmas and New Year!

    Just thought the world should know that Father Pagano actually is as good-natured IRL as he is on this show. One day, I was walking into the Catholic Center on Old St. Augustine Rd for a meeting. Fr. Rich was behind me but pretty far away. I was buzzed in immediately, but then the person behind the desk stepped away for a minute. Fr. Rich tried the door, and of course, it was locked. I walked over, opened the door for him, and said, "Ya know, they're trying to keep out the riff-raff, but no one's manning the desk, so I think you can sneak in now." He laughed super hard and thanked me. Love him and the Ryans!!!! Oh, and Scheel, my husband has large hands, too. There are large-handled coffee mugs out there. You just have to shop for them. I see the comments from some bad trads online, but have not seen that in person from the last 18 months of attending a Latin Mass. I have seen positive comments from my TLM parish about a local Novus Ordo parish that incorporates things like ad orientum and Communion rails.

    I'm a weak returning Catholic . I had learned so much from farther on Mike . I was gone for 8 years . God got my attention. Did all my confessions go to mass every sunday? Taking the holy week communion. After all that time being gone, now on the practice of Catholic, I made it back. I'm so grateful I had a wonderful priest to go to for confession . That was the biggest mistake of my life when I left I'm just grateful to be back .

    Well done gentleme. I have no desire to go to the Latin mass. I have no desire to be gnostic about the Novus Ordo. Your show reminded me of the Sunday at my parish when the pastor called out parishioners that attended a local school board and caused chaos and called them out on it. He gained total respect from me for that. Keep it up brothers!

    As a new Catholic (confirmed 10/3) thank you all so much for bringing some sense and, most importantly, stability to this debate. My family and I love the liturgy, love the sacraments, love our parish and our local parish priest. It frustrates me so much to see this tearing the church at large apart. I understand the spirit from which it comes because it's the same thing happening in the world, but the Catholic Church is so beautiful and awesome, it disappoints me to see it happening. I pray that we can bring it together and get our focus where it belongs - on bringing light to a hurting world. Thank y'all and keep up the good work.

      They said the things that’s on some of our minds. Scheel literally took the words out of my mouth. The frustrations and complaints these Catholics have are downright disrespectful to Catholics like me and others, but also to the pope. I’ve seen what has been said, no one needs to tell me. It’s just not okay. The pope is right in this. We need to find ways to unite, not separate, and the Latin mass was being used as a way to separate, an us vs them. He made it clear. We are all Catholics. Period. It was harsh how he did it, but I get where he’s coming from, and he’s right. You can disagree, but have respect. Many of them don’t.

    My parents were pre Vatican II and recited the Latin Mass, and then when it was time for my holy communion, they were disappointed with the new Mass (guitar Mass) or Liberal Mass. But, they made sure we were still raised Catholic, and remained true to the Catholic Church and teachings of the Church.

    The internet has helped me to gain knowledge of my Catholic faith. When I first started to learn what being Catholic meant (in my 40's) I realized even though I was born into the faith, growing up in the 60's and 70's I fell into the world view and just didn't know it. The internet has helped me to connect to Catholic shows (like yours) and other Catholics so I don't feel alone and like that "religious nut" that most of my friends and family now think I am. But I definitely see where you are coming from, because i have been on sites that were just getting nasty instead of having civil conversations and I ended up leaving them. But God bless shows such as yours, Matt Fraad, Trent Horn, and so many others who have helped me to come back to my faith and actually learn the teachings and understand the reasoning behind the teachings!

    This show has definitely been more of an acquired taste for me, it's not my usual style, but I love how humble and normal you are. It brings me back to earth, reminds me that knowing and intellectually believing things isn't enough to live a Catholic life, that I also must do, and be aware or the world around me. I remember at some point I was also annoyed by too much laughing and all that masculine energy, but I didn't unsubscribe because I knew watching you was good for my own balance. Now I really enjoy all of that and I can laugh with you. I think you can take the criticism, get better, but stay the same. Thank you for giving us this show.

    Omg!!! Right on. This episode is legit 🔥 🔥 🔥 you riled me up. Ryan S said it right about the liturgy. At one point I started jumping up and down, yo! People be in here arguing the semantics of the liturgy, freaking something that doesn’t even matter, and then they want to say that because they go to Latin mass they’re somehow better Catholics than the rest of us. The liturgy that you choose to go to isn’t what makes you a good Catholic. Are you helping people? Are you feeding the poor, praying for the sick? No? Then it’s time to rethink your priorities. You’ve got them all wrong. The language in which you pray doesn’t matter. If it were of importance, then praying in Hebrew should be the language of choice, not Latin. Fr. Rich said it right. You need to receive the Eucharist VALIDLY, and that means I can take the Eucharist in my hand. If you don’t want to, you can take it by mouth, and it’s all good. BOTH are valid! The pope, regardless of how you feel about him, is the holy father. I don’t like his politics, but it’s not about him, really. It’s what he represents! He is the successor of St. Peter. People need to show more respect. Also, just because you vote conservative in your country doesn’t mean you need to politicize your faith too. I’m conservative, I’ve voted Republican since I could legally vote, but I go to NO mass. Why? Because I love my community there. My priests are awesome. One thing doesn’t have anything to do with the other, and the fact that people be on here trying to say that I need to go to Latin mass because of how I vote politically just makes no freaking sense!Again, Scheel got this right. This episode was legit what a lot of people needed, myself included. I thought I was alone in my thinking, and I’m glad I’m not. Thank you, Ryan S. And Fr. Rich. You guys really gave me hope. You too, Ryan D. You all have personally helped me. You’re part of the reason I came back to Catholicism. You’re doing the work that so many people need. It’s inspiring!
