Calling men cowards instead of really digging in isn’t going to help bring any men to church.

I bought my non religious wife her first Rosary , she received it well and confessed she always wanted to learn to pray
Thank you lord for showing her your love .
I was a fool , for years I held on to my knowledge and beliefs and allowed my children to grow up Godless, leaderless, and lost. My family is still young my son is 15 and my daughter 11 .
I started introducing them to Jesus and they are in love with him now , we are on our way to becoming Catholic .
Thank you Lord , you have shown me the light and I want to share it with the world ❤🙏✝️

What a miraculous and beautiful gift! I will be praying for your family and all family's on a journey through conversion . I will tell you that the journey of family conversion is a miracle and gift from God. What started as my father converting to the faith 7 ago has led to the conversion of my entire family : myself, my son,my sister , her husband , my neighbors and the baptism and confirmation of their 16yo grandson this Easter. (Not attributing this to my dad wholly, it was truly the Holy Spirit). But there is a special and Christ ordained role for a father and his children. May God bless you and keep you , your children and wife. 🙏❤

Similar to me. My children are 12 and 15. I'm Anglican and my wife is Japanese (so Buddhist/Shinto) and is committed to that but what troubles me is that she (like many women) is fascinated by star charts and tarot, the kinda stuff the Bible warned us against. I go to Church by myself (only recently returned after a long absence) but my children, especially my son is showing some curiosity about Christ.

Christ told the Disciples how to pray and there was no, man made Rosary involved. The Rosary is simply another example among many Pagan practices in the Catholic Church.

Ego,lack of humility, denial, shame, and effeminate priests is what’s driving men away from Catholic Church and Mass

    • @morthim
      @morthim Před 3 měsíci +1

      this but backwards.
      the problem is:
a lack of ego or pride or inititive to do an acceptable and tolerable job,
so much humility there is no value or point in going
conciet -over promising and under delivering,
a lack of introspection or curiosity in engaging and interacting with men,
and a lack of any inciting sexual interest or and benefit to men in any way whatsoever,
      is what is repelling men.
do some miracles, make your church a social club with social advancement opportunities, create private and play opportunities so that hobbiests join you, bestow by your discretion redemption and grace where they have none.
and drop the preaching stuff. no man wants to be lectured by people he deems inferior, let alone inadequate.

Their are 2 ways usually that you can go into the confessional.
      Face to face or
      Private.
To this day I prefer the Private. Every church should offer those 2 ways.
If yours doesn't for some reason perhaps you can attend another church.

Feminism, 50% failure of 1st marriages and 70-90% for 2nd marriages. I don't appreciate putting men down. Frankly, women are much to blame. I don't think men are given the credit due. Men have become soft and women are becoming manly. Men choose to leave because they are not wanted. Sad. The church needs to support men and understand what it's like out here.

Men today are weak and lukewarm, they don't want to carry the cross they inherited, they wanna complain, and stop going to church cause 'it's too feminine'... yeah well, when the majority of the church is women, it's because the men aren't there to make it masculine.

Fewer men are going to church for the same reason that fewer men are going to college. We have increasingly tried to elevate women, which is not always a bad thing, but we are suffering unintended consequences from that.
If women are taking over the rules that men used to have, where is the place for men?
Men also stopped having a sense of belonging at home as well.

The liturgy is a big reason that men do not attend mass.
Men want to be heroes and respond to challenges and calls for action.
Unfortunately the new mass is feminised and is more comforting and nurturing. This appeals to women but not men.
Men do not respond to the Novus Ordo well (generally speaking). Men need the discipline and masculinity in the liturgy. They need to be challenged and made to feel like a man.
I've been to both NO and TLM many times on 3 different continents. The story is always the same.
    Great video guys thank you!

I thought this was going to go in a different direction. I thought they were going to talk about the reason men started to stop going to Mass 50yrs ago...I know that these guys don't have a lot of love for the traditional form of Mass, but the walk away from that and the walk away from masculinity in the church and the Mass, is the reason men stopped going. Men should have a prominent role of the celebration of Mass, and that was stopped. We know why, lets not pretend like there haven't been terrible consequences of it. We need to nurture that tradition and reverence back into the church, that's where all the young people are.

In my line of work, if my relief doesn't show up to work, I'm stuck at work for an additional 4 hours, which is a problem because I work 2nd shift on Saturdays.

What a powerful message from John. I completely identify with him. When he quoted St Luke "deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me", I was floored, because this was the Gospel passage that snapped my head around years ago. The power of God's forgiveness, healing, and redemption was on full display in this episode. I wish that everyone would understand the freedom of transparency, humility, and vulnerability which leads to healing. The first Commandment isn't about a golden calf. The question is, am I looking to "save face" (pride) and is that more important than accepting God's mercy? Thank you for airing this episode. It touched my heart. Glory to Jesus Christ!

  • @joedoll645
    @joedoll645 Před rokem +4

Men leave the Church for 2 reasons: The first is that the Church participates in the attack on the family. While the Church officially condemns the right things, you never hear it from the pulpit (birth control, sex, and so forth). This lack of conviction carries over to confession. If men confess some slight sexual offense, the priest tries to shame him rather than work it through with the person or counsel him. But you can't give what you don't have, and priests are completely mesmerized by sex. Men pick these things out rather quickly (within minutes). So the Church is seen as completely hopeless (provides no answers) by young men, and they are right too much of the time. The young men see the Church as a bunch of irrelevant hypocrites.
The second is that Church has abandoned logic. Again, in the official teaching, the Church has its right, but that doesn't carry into the pews. For example, an atheist asks a simple question about Thomas of Aquinas, and the archbishop responds, "I don't have that book" (Summa Theologica). You have to wonder whether the bishop has a Bible. Since it was very much in the public, I answered for the atheist, and I know I was right, but that made the bishop angry. That much laziness and ignorance is not going to inspire young men.

For men who want to be involved in something like this who don't have a group available, or want to start something like these men's groups in your parish but don't know how, if for some reason the program they talk about here isn't feasible, look for or into the Knights of Columbus. They just started a chapter at my parish and I learned how different they are than what I thought. (it's NOT a bunch of old guys with swords!) The monthly meeting starts with beers and food, then moves to business, but we have had recreational events, fun outings, and more. Even if it's not at your parish you'll be welcomed.

Please pray with me that he returns to the faith.

This episode has inspired me to fervently pray for the men both in and out of the church. On Good Shepherd sunday we were reminded by my priest to pray for vocations : to the priesthood but also in marriage.
Ps- when I went through RCIA there was a lovely older couple, the husband jewish, had been attending mass for 20 years and never converted. He finally did. My father, who was a dedicated anti catholic, went through RCIA three times before his conversion.. he now goes to daily mass and leads tours on the church grounds. 🙏❤
Our conversions to the faith begin but our lives continue a path of daily conversion and dedication to Christ. 🙏🙏❤

I can't believe that no one in the comments has even mentioned men's time management, and being over-extended in life as a reason for men not getting to church. Men are expected these days to take on even more responsibilities at home, whether his wife works or not, while still working full time. The church either treats men as wallets or free labor when we already get enough of that at home and at work during the week. The church needs to offer men something other than just another job and even more obligations than they already have. Even when we do every thing right the world is telling us its not enough and we just need to "Man Up". Now the church is saying the same thing and I think that's the problem. Holy Mother Church should not be a nag...

commended for your honesty and willingness to share your struggles and the way you help each other to fight the good fight. My one and only criticism, if I may be so bold, is with the Bobble head Jesus and saints on the table. I understand the thought behind it. It’s kind of disarming and communicates to the viewer that you guys are everyday guys with a sense of humor etc…. For me, personally, with everything happening in our world, i just think that we as Catholics and Christians, should do everything in our power to present Christ with all the honor He is due and with a sobriety of thought that leads others to take us and Him seriously. Please take that for what it’s worth and thank you again for what you are doing. God bless!

I will tell you why I do not care to go: For my first 17 years of life my mother forced me to go to church with them every Sunday. I had no choice but to go. When I was a little kid I did not mind so much but as I got into my later teens I very much disliked being forced to go when I had a driver's license and a car and I could not go do what I wanted but was forced to go to Church so that my mother could prove to everyone what a good person she was having her kids in church with her. Anyway, after I turned 18 my dad, bless his heart, convinced her that it should be my decision from then and after that, I went decades without going again. I did start after I got married to please my husband on occasion, but I did not go because I wanted to go but only because she wanted me to be there. Too many millions of people go to church just to be seen there by others and that's not me. I know there is a God in Heaven and I know that Jesus died for me. To me, that is plenty good enough.

If you have humility you'll answer this honestly. What if Jesus commanded that we keep Holy the Sabbath day? That means we go to mass every weekend either during the Vigil or Sunday. And that every time you don't go, you're rejecting Jesus everytime you sin badly. Jesus died for you, but are you willing to love and serve him? Or are you just gonna lukewarm your way through life thinking you're going to Heaven doing the bare minimum or mediocre way?
I used to just go to church to please the parents, then I went to church because I wanted to go to Heaven, not knowing that I was on the road to hell because I treated Jesus like an atm. I did not really love him in life nor did I love others, or spend time with Jesus. No one gets into Heaven the lazy convenient way. If Jesus tells ya to do something, you do it. Or you could be like the devil and say, "I will not serve!"

When attending a traditional latin church, i am always in awe of how its FULL of devout faithful MEN. The priests are retired cops and retired military. There are more men in rosary groups than women. What a refreshing breath of fresh air to be surrounded by men who accept their leadershio roles, so countercultural to the silly de-masculine vibe on social media.
Its been very inspiring for my protestant husband to experience a church where people take their faith zealously (women wear veils, kneeling for eucharist, etc). We love it. I think my spouse will convert soon.
As a woman, it's very encouraging to be married to a man who fears the Lord. I feel more protected and sanctified, and its much easier to submit.

My case was a little different at the beginning we would go as a family to the Catholic Church. I was a convert got baptized 1979 at that time I was aged 22 the ones that helped me get in their Church for classmates of mine in high school then I didn't go as much cuz I made some mistakes got into drugs. Then I met my wife she's from the Philippines she was aged 29 I was age 50 when we got married in the Catholic Church first we had a civil wedding and after that we got married by a priest in the Catholic Church. The reason we did it that way ins was trying to send my wife panty the Philippines that's why we did the Civil wedding first. We started going to the Catholic Church and the family and before we did the wedding I had to do confessions fill out the paperwork for the wedding in the Catholic Church. My wife was the one that started taking the kids to Mass for a while because I went back to the Baptist Church the way I was raised eventually at age 66 I came back to Church started going to mass by this time my wife doesn't want to go she felt hurt I wasn't going with her when I was going to the Baptist Church the hundred percent my fault. I want all my children to go but they want to stay home play on the cell phones cell phones they like playing games but everyone of my children baptized when they were baby. I took the classes over again took the classes over again I didn't know what I believed did not know the Eucharist was it presents Jesus Christ body and blood. I thought we worship Mary thought we worship Mary but we don't we honor her where I got that idea I don't know. What got me to come back was father Mike that I listen to on CZcams I also listen to for the rich Catholic Talk show. Family friend of they are Catholic they lost their dad that got me to think about it That Could Have Been Me and I would not have been ready to meet the Lord.

But now I really enjoy going to the Mass listen to the priest and partaking of the Eucharist and I'll make it happen once a month to my confessions confessions

The masculine qualities of the Faith are alive and well in Holy Tradition and it is imperative that the Church revive and embrace them. Unfortunately, many qualities of modern parishes are an obstacle to discovering them, from music choice, to artwork choice in the church, to the orientation of the altar, to the placement of the tabernacle, to the casual distribution of Holy Communion via extraordinary ministers, to the lackadaisical recitation of Holy Scripture by lay people, to the bearing of the gifts, etc. Once one experiences the proper setting and perfect wedding of masculine and feminine values propagated by the Church through tradition, one will not want to stay home on Sunday and watch football.

Practicing what is expected to live a life in the Christian religion is actually quite difficult. People can find themselves feeling quite guilty about their failure to perform. At the same time making a living in a fast changing economy and dealing with the changing issues family face has been getting more complex. Media increasingly accentuates all of this today to an almost inescapable extent. Something(s) give way. Not being confronted with one’s religious shortcomings can be a stress reducer.

EFFEMINACY - a reluctance to suffer due to an attachment to pleasure (St. Thomas). Like St. Ignatius of Loyola, follow the perfect example - Christ The King. Sacrifice, the greatest love of all. Also if women in the last 50 years are starting to take over the offices traditionally reserved for men and priests only (handling the eucharist, women lectors) then that is a usurpation of authority given to men. That might’ve caused some loss of grace. It doesn’t help that the church has minimized fasting to 2 obligatory days a year, which is a necessity to salvation and conquering yourself and fighting laziness and maintaining Christian discipline. “The life of man on earth is warfare -Job. Just cut it out! To be a saint is to be a SOLDIER and fight for Christ. I am a weak, little lady but with my Carmelite spirituality, St. Teresa has inspired me to man up. Feelings don’t matter. It takes heroic virtue to be a saint. When I don’t want to wake up at my alarm, sometimes I wake up up as if I’m on fire. When I feel lazy to pray, I stay in prayer longer. I get on my knees everyday and beg God for the many graces I am in need of. When the devil sees me fighting and not giving in to his temptations and sees I want to be rightly ordered, I believe he starts to be scared because I refuse for him to conquer me, for the love of God. Then the more help and consolations God gives. Modernism might’ve brought in effeminacy into the church. It watered down the idea of - SACRIFICE.

I think having positive, strong relationships with men in your church community helps ( we have an active youth group at our parish with a few exceptional male leaders ). His grandfather (my dad ) is also a convert and that really helps. True that nothing can substitute a loving father... but we as their mothers, with the help of Jesus and all the Angel's and saints, can carry them through. We can remind and prepare them for their vocations in adulthood. We can pray together for other children who dont have fathers (either because of death, tragedy, divorce, choice) . We can pray for their father. And we can often remind them of the good qualities of their dad or how something they do/say reminds you of him.❤🙏
