Hasn't the black church been a refuge for Blk women?. Can I say that many go to church because of unresolved issues-trauma in families etc as opposed to going to therapy/counselling. Great conversation; respect to INKTV-respect to you for getting such a broad range of views...GREAT!

The church had over 1700 years of hell on earth. The church is dying, there’s already a grave marker on it. The symbol of death.

This is why I love watching Bishop TD Jakes ministry. He doesn't hold back when it comes to criticizing women. It's always done in a wise and helpful way. Before recently discovering him I thought all mega churches were just full of 🐂 to keep their core audience pampered

Are u a woman ? If not then why are u so concerned about them being criticized. Males need to worry about themselves & hearing the truth about their failings & then take accountability.

coming up during the crack era i had to witness people go to church on sunday, hit the pipe on monday, tuesday - saturday they was telling us to go to school while at the same time selling our school clothes and anything else around, non smokers would go to church and still be struggling to get through the week, so church always looked like a waste of time🛑 to me.

Never seen that afirmate your child. Don’t not provoke your children to wrath. Yes. Used that on my father once, requiring from me a Bible verse per day , at 12 years old,I knew the Bible more than him, he a Christian, he never asked for another verse. Stupid book say one thing in one chapter and something totally different in the next. Have you ever read the gospels , consecutively. Each gospel story as a different book, without mixing the stories up in your head? You wouldn’t know who to believe, then when you get to John, with his new beginning, Jesus is Superman, don’t need nobody to help carry his cross. The first page of the Bible did it for me. How god created day before he created the sun. Yeah, I’m an idiot, I don’t know what day and night is. Yep day can really light before or without the sun. Yep. Me ah big idiot. So the ppl that gave me the Bible thinks.
Then to find the serpent is the truth teller. No you shall not surely die, god knows the day you eat , you shall become like god knowing good and evil. God : now that the man has become like us , let’s kill him. No , put him out the garden. Why did the Bible writers make god to be the lair? Now I’m the bad guy, just like the serpent. Ppl will kill you for the truth. Ppl don’t want truth. There’s no truth in the church. Black man is beginning to think for himself. Be his own man. Be a father. Grow up, your dependent on an imaginary father, while the priest fills the gap. End theology. Make the world a better place.

The scriptures were changed around so much it can be confusing. Rulers who didn't like what the scripture said would change things around. Rulers like Constantine would decide what remained in the book and what would be taken out. It happened so much you would have to know so many things to be able to figure the scriptures out or have God Himself come to decipher for you. God admonished people in the scriptures not to change His word.

@@arlenemuhammad9853 . If it changes so often, is it god’s words? Has any god deciphered it to any humans, ever? We know it’s man that writes books, inspired or not, inspiration seems to be the same as an idea.

@@Nkosi766 The scriptures are written in advance and released when the time comes. Some of it is the word of God and some of it isn't. The Hon. Elijah Muhammad use to call it the poison book for that reason. I read the Quran and the Bible and I get a lot out of both books. Sometimes what's written in the Bible is not incorrect but was interpreted to blacks in America and other people in a way to make better slaves of our people and mental slaves of the common people. Nature tells you that certain words are correct. Exa. Jesus words to do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

@@arlenemuhammad9853Scriptures coalesced over time, as the early Christian cult spread through the Roman Empire it developed different flavours & thus different scripture or scriptures with doctrinal differences. The early Church was more diverse than modern Christianity, thus there was a need to standardise & decide on what would be canon & what would be considered heresy. It was the flavour of Christianity promoted by the Church in Rome that won out, the Church in Rome being the most powerful & thus forcing out other perspectives & flavours of the early religion.
This is why some books have been left out of the Bible, some of these books were canon for some people in particular parts of the Empire. But ultimately the early Church fathers were making decisions on what should remain. Details in some excluded gospels like the Gospel of Thomas ended up in the Quran. & early sects like the Ebionites, Marcionites, Arians had wildly different beliefs & practices that we don't associate with the tradition today.
A concensus on Biblical canon across Christendom wasn't reached until the 16th century. & even today in the Bible Jesus refers to books that have been omitted from the present day canon.

Hmmm I just think it’s wild that inorder to pander to men even “pastors” are now making it seem like men were not designated by God as the leaders of the community. I get that they believe many women have some how become their competition, but What examples of accountability exists for Men? Where are the platforms chastising men into becoming leaders of the community. All I see is men saying women should become less of a challenge inorder for them to rise to the occasion. That makes no sense.
But I’m not single so good luck to y’all out there in the fight.

Father isn’t a parent? The preacher is the only father figure in the church, any other figure is imaginary.
