Richard coming out and saying it’s not Sean doesn’t mean anything. the series suggests that they are still friends as sean and richard are in real life, so obviously richard is not going to say yes it is him.
I watch the show and thought it was fantastic but I am not sure why Richard thought no one would try and find out who the character actually where in real life? It is pretty much known who Martha is (and it wasn’t difficult to find out as all that was really changed was her name) and she is entitled to tell HER side of the story. I see in the last few days she did an interview (they didn’t name her or show her face) with the Scot, where she tells her version of events. Maybe she is mentally ill and is clearly extremely vulnerable but she, like everyone, should be allowed to have her say. The same goes for whoever “Darrien’s” character is, maybe they are a predator, praying on the defenceless but they also also should have the right to be presumed innocent until they are proven guilty. All this show has done is fuel speculation and drag many, likely innocent people, through the mud. I don’t know how Richard, Netflix etc didn’t see or expect this would happen??
I’ve never met a rape victim who would re-enact their rape repeatedly for tv. This makes me question how true Baby Reindeer is. Piers Morgan is interviewing Fiona tonight.
Not everyone deals with trauma the same way. Most people with trauma actually act out very different than how we think they’d do. Perhaps this was his way of releasing the trauma since he couldn’t stand up and confront his abuser, he portrayed it and made it look as real as possible to convey his hurt
I think Richard Gadd is going to be forced to name the guy, to stop others getting falsely blamed. The guy in question, must be getting hot under the collar. Who knows he might be driven to do something stupid. The fall out is unbelievable, as good as the show is.
