- Part 1. Finally an update on the 1955 project which first made its way to ma channel over a year ago talking of doing this swap. using a ford ranger donor truck to build the perfect daily driver 1955 f100 gas saver shop truck for my wife..
Love to see more detail on how you lined up firewall holes to airbox and get it to line up with the dash...
I can do a video maybe this weekend.
@@1194video that would be cool bro...
Bravo excellent good job keep up the good work making awesome progress on the 55 F150
PSE Mentalist thank you! I haven’t been working on it and the wife said she wanted to get it going so that’s where I am
Wow!!! You make it seem so easy!!!! Really looking forward to your next video!!!
Lots more to come. Been busy at the farm but going to get back at it soon
I'm planning on doing also, but with a 96 f150.
You going to put up videos of it?
No videos....just watchin your videos and hoping to get it done....lol
Everything is fitting like it was made for it. You didn't use the firewall from the Ranger because on the 66 F100 you change the hold firewall.
I only used the air box section and booster, steering linkage area of firewall
@@1194video ok I seen that you used the heater part of the firewall just not the brake part of the firewall. I'm kinda going through the videos now .
why does everyone ruin the dash in these old trucks
Because the old dash is crap. If Ford had the Smarts to build what Iv built in 1955, don’t you think they would have made a truck with tilt wheel, full instrument panel, air and good heat, air bags, cruise control, a horn that don’t sound like a train and be reliable for long distances without overhaul. I think so. You drive a stock 55 Ford as a daily and I’ll drive mine and beside you with the windows up, air on, and cruise control lol
@@1194video I really like the thinking process that you do and how you feel and plan things out just pure amazing work you are doing respect back to you from 🇨🇦 #YSW
@@1194video yes you look and think about all of the moves you need to do and you don't slap things together much respect i have for the Top Quality 💯 of workmanship
@@domenicomonteleone3055 Thankyou! Iv learned the hard way that it’s best to draw it all out so you know exactly what the outlook will be rather than going in blind just winging it and ending up making mistakes
Awsome work.
steve-o 1989 thank you, I’ll be posting a video update in an hour after I finish editing it down
So that ranger chassis is shared with older explorers which had v8 i think it should be easy to swap a 5.0 from an explorer in it
thunder mite 12 it is, if you have an ecu, engine with trans the engine will bolt straight up and plug up but if it’s a pats it has to have steering column swapped too
I’m assuming that’s a short bed Ford ranger?
It is. But you have to use 98-newer or the length will be too short, the 98 had a little longer cab and stretched frame so fits the wheelbase putting the front and rear wheel centered to the fender unlike the factory 55 f100 had an offset front wheel which was not centered.
@@1194video Thank you!!! I will be coming back here for more questions. If that’s ok.
Hi H=I have 1961 F100 sidestep single door any suggestion for chassis swap some using Crown Victoria some ford Ranger
Well if you want to build a gas saving daily I’d go with ranger chassis but if your looking for more power but less mileage the crown Vic is a very popular one, I have done both and I like both, I enjoy the everyday driver aspect of the 2.5 Ford ranger with manual gearbox as to the automatic v8 having to spend more on fuel than necessary. If you want to keep your Origional frame, go Vic if your doing full swap go ranger
the original dash was much cooler than the modern plastic crap. you ruined the character of the truck.
How far along are you on the 68 mustang build
ill get some footage up here soon. its very far along now. had not been posting due to some people getting their cars taken for using certain kits on the body.
