Also he is far away from his universe, where he was making the fusion reactor. Finish what he started.
It will be very nice if they did mention Rosie there in the film.

I like how Otto, even in his madness and grief, has still some moral sense to see the flaws on other people. He knows Norman had done terrible things but he doesn't try to downplay them like a fellow villain would do. It shows that unlike Norman or Eddie Brock, he wasn't completely lost in insanity or mind-control.
So nuking the city with an ever-expanding sun is fine

Norman Osborn (green goblin) did die but the portal open up and got him to another world and that means he didn’t die when he was fighting spider man since he was send to another dimension and another peter Parker but not the one norman knows back in his dimension but he is still madness

People think this movie was all about cameos and nostalgia but all these scenes are perfectly done

Except this whole scene is a gigantic Plot Hole from the Raimi trilogy... Because Otto shouldn't know that the Green Goblin is Norman Osborn.

@@Blasckk Except Norman and Otto worked together in the past, and considering the circumstances between the Goblin and Norman's death, was probably able to piece together or figured it was obvious that Norman was the Goblin.
Or, of course, the fact that Flint literally 10 minutes after this scene said Norman's death was "all over the news".

When Ned mentioned that there was a disturbance near a military research facility and that a monster was spotted flying around, I immediately thought of the first Spider-Man movie where Green Goblin attacks a military related thing (forgot what it's called) before the festival.
Kinda makes me wonder why he even did that because earlier we found out that everyone in every universe who knows Peter is Spider-Man gets transported into the cinematic universe and at that point in the movie Peter wasn’t Spider-Man
Also, the monster Ned mentioned is actually Electro.

@@axelnilsson5124 In the Raimi films, Norman learned Peter was Spider Man based on the cut on his left arm during Thanksgiving. Otto learned Peter was Spider Man upon removing his mask right before he sabk with his fusion reactor. Markko learned Peter was Spider Man when his mask got removed during his fight with Venom (not Tom Hardy) and then his death along with Brock. In Webbs Amazing Spider Man, Connors learned Peter was Spider Man when he found his camera on the sewers Peter was searching or waiting for him at.

Before the movie released, I was concerned Green Goblin wasn’t going to get to shine as Spider-Man’s arch enemy, but scenes like this, where Peter learns about him in such a haunting way, really just solidified him as a nightmare in the making for Peter. From his introduction, to hearing his history, to sympathizing, to betrayal and murdering someone close to Peter and making him doubt his entire mission as Spider-Man, to ultimately being cured by Peter, who has new found value in responsibility…everyone involved with this story did an incredible job with this one film. Truly impressive
Otto was one of Norman’s colleagues back in the day, he managed to deduce, Norman Osborn’s Connection to the Goblin’s crime (such as the Murder of Dr. Stromm and the Board directors, destruction of Quest aerospace and theft of the Glider). But, chose not to speak of due Norman not wanting his son to find. Sandman found out through the News, For the secret of Norman’s Goblin life was revealed to the public after Harry’s death.
I actually didn’t know that the secret Norman Osborn’s secret of the Green Goblin was revealed to the republic. Good comment mate 👍

Early drafts of SM3 had Harry knowing the whole time. He was the one who cleaned Norman’s wound and realized who he was. He surprised that memory and would eventually come to terms with it in that scene with Bernard, who in the original draft was revealed to be in Harry’s mind during the end scene with him and Harry, likely only being there for real in the scene when Peter shows up.
Man i would’ve loved to have seen Green Goblin in full suit on his glider attacking that military facility.
I love Otto's tentacles. They look like ostriches when they stare at Peter 😂
I wonder if in this version Norman and Otto had known each other personally and had a sort of fallout, from the way Otto talks about him. I wish they showed more of their past.
Usually they do but in spider man 2 not really it seemed he more respected Osborn than actually knew him
In the comics they were college roommates and founded Oscorp together
@@ANDCFC95 What the hell are you talking about? There's nothing like that in the comics. Otto went to MIT at age 13, long before Norman (who went to ESU at a normal age).
To my knowledge, the only continuity where they are college buddies is in the PS4 video game.
It's never mentioned in Spider-Man 2 whether they knew each other, or not. But seeing as how they were both gifted scientists living in New York, it stands to reason that they at least crossed paths.

"Or you're flying out into the darkness to fight a ghost" when he says that i get chills and have this picture in my mind of peter actually swinging out into the darkness and green goblin standing on his glider staring back at peter with a menacing look and the evil smile. Green goblin is truly a terrifying villain.
The moment Peter's question started to prod at Octavius individual personality, the tentacles lashed out with "We tire of your questions boy!"
Because despite being under Peter's control, the tentacles were themselves trapped in their own body.
Make sense to me! And Plus this is the guy that Peter 1 is going to trust for this whole title film!
Otto could've realized that Electro's Lizard was Curt Connors and realized that his Connors could've been the Lizard as well.
And that is the reason why that Otto became a Fish out of Water character in this film. So he can learn about the things that is not in his own world that he truly came from.

I know they think this makes it more dramatic, but there's no way Otto could know that Osborn was the Green Goblin. It was Norman's dying request to Peter. Peter removed his costume and dropped off his body to Harry. Harry didn't even know his dad was the Goblin until he smashed that mirror and found the hidden workshop.

@@Commanderziff I'm disagreeing with the part where you said there's no way Otto could've known. That military project was Osborn's baby and from the way things were going with his project and company publicly, it wouldn't have been that hard to deduce that he was the Green Goblin
I honestly think Doctor Octopus found out Green Goblin was Osborn because he figured out Green Goblin stopped appearing the same day Osborn died and that he put together they were the same person
He is a very fast learner that's for sure.
Otto and Norman knew each other from the very start. In Spider-Man 2 there is a scene where Otto was talking about the late Norman with Peter. Also the fact that Norman's company made a huge investment in Otto's fusion reactor project, Otto may know a lot about Norman more than anybody else.

This is the reason why that I love Dr. Octopus in this movie is that they gave him a very good storyline. That is all about trying to get to know a brand new world that he has never been before and he is truly to learn about this new world for a short period of time. In only 2 whole days and 2 whole day only!

I was there when I saw the first Spider-Man. Norman looked like a pretty nice guy when I remembered, and only became nasty after taking the performance enhancers. Of course, he might have been like what Otto described before the events of the movie, and greatly mellowed down by the time he first met Peter.

i was confused, why doc ock didn't know doc connors? in Sam raimi's spiderman 2, doc connors mentioned that he's friend with doc octavius and doc octavius knows doc connors as well?
Because they know that they look like different people and in Doc Ock's universe, Connors never became a lizard
Plus for the sake of the film i dont think they should waste time having EVERYONE talk about "oh yeah theres also a _blank_ in my universe". Yes it would be cool to see Conners and Max talking about their Osborn or Otto talking about his Conners, but at what point can they show this discussion without messing up the pacing or what significances does it have
because his doc connors did not turn in to a lizard.

I can answer that question my friend! The Dr. Connors that Dr. Octopus knew is the guy who did not transform into an Lizard at all. He is just a Normal Human Being does not have a the right side of his arm. And also he stayed as a Human Being during the time of Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3. And as for Dr. Connors who is in the Movie. It is truly a very different one. And he truly came from the first Amazing Spider-Man Movie. A guy who transform into a Lizard for No Reason and he is very darn naked. And he does have a Right side of his arm.
