Seeing Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Sandman from the Raimi trilogy all in one scene together, talking to each other is a sight I thought I`d never see.

Props to Sandman for being the only survivor and his entrance started with helping Peter Parker. One of the best characters
Lizard didn’t die either, he was sent to prison and “visited” by that “man in the shadows” guy in the end credits, even if he died by the second (Andrew Garfield) movie, it was probably in prison from “withdrawals” from his Lizard Serum or maybe some after effect that made his body deteriorate fast without the serum, not because of Spider-Man.
@@cwa728 He wasn't stored in a vivarium and passed.
it would be nice if he was actually there tho
Fun fact: his actor (Thomas Hayden Church) didn't want to appear in person due to COVID, so they just accepted his voice files and CGI-d him into the film....he wanted to be in it, but since filming took place in 2020, he didn't want to take the risk due to being an older gentleman.

Just the slow build to him realizing what was going to happen kills me.

Did you see that clip of them together in Spider-Man 2 “unofficially”? But yeah, I agree.

But too bad the dialogue between Tobey Maguire with the Norman, Sandman and Ock is too short...I was hoping that Tobey hv a long chat with them....
The multiverse idea shows that we all have fantasm over these characters. It reminds me when we all used, one way or another, play with different licences minifigures and invent our very own world with them interacting. It's that idea that's projected on the big screen and I love it.

I love the look Norman has at 0:13. The scientist in him is becoming amazed by how similar, yet different this world is to his own.
Totally. Some see it as rude or some kind of dismissive action to forego the pleasantries of introductions, but really people like that are so simply engrossed with the discovery, taking in the the experience of the new, that unless there is a more pressing issue (like some kind of immediate threat, ie not about to explode on all their faces and instead the situation is comfortable and calm) their mind becomes entirely preoccupied with learning/interacting with said discovery. i always found it weird how otto just regain control of the tentacles at just the right moment only the sacrifice himself I always thought it was just Peter breaking through to Otto's humanity but as somebody else pointed out in another video the moment otto comes to his senses in Spider-Man 2 could have been the exact moment he was sent back to his universe

I’ll always love this movie rover any super hero movie because they really brought every villain back and succeeded at it (minus Dane dehaan’s harry and topher graces venom)
It was so mindblowing to see the villains from different universes talking and sharing stories. And electro's attitude about taking down his spider-man,( andrew Garfield), then realizing that spidey with the help of gwen defeated him was hilarious due to how he reacted.
All things considered, he took it pretty well. Love how Lizard was actually nervous enough to ask if he died too

I kno a lot of people didn’t like andrews harry but he would’ve fit n perfectly here 3 from andrews and 3 from tobeys. Him,Max and Curt Connors all coulda had an interesting chat regarding what happened with the forming of sinister six when harry was in ravenscroft
@@eastwood1026 yeah but they already had one goblin
@@csab8642 But at the same time it would be nice if they did that. The fact that Norman's son (Harry) died in Sam Raimi's franchise and Harry's father (Norman) dies in Mark Webb's franchise, it would be cool for the Osborns to "technically" be reunited but just from different universes
I love how solemn Connors sounds when he asks Max if he died
He sounds so scared when he asks
I think after the events of Spider-Man 3, since Norman and Harry Osborn died, nobody owned the Osborn mansion, so I think they found the goblin lair in the mansion with all of the goblin equipment in to confirm that Norman was the Green Goblin. Then they must of found the goblin mask and glider in the abandoned Hospital building that Tobey and Goblin fought in. Then they must of recovered Doc Ocks dead body and his machine aswell. So I think that's how Sandman knows that Norman was the Goblin and Octavius drowned.
What i thougth was that Harry died wearing Goblin equipment, and Tobey-Peter was unable to hide his corpse in time, so many investegated how Harry found the equipment, leading to Norman's identity being exposed.
Both of your comments sound plausible.
Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if in the Raimiverse some people got a hold of Osborn’s tech and Serum and juiced themselves up on it to become his honorary followers, like a Goblin Horde

Connors: What about it?
Otto: I have a Curt Connors where I come from. Only he was a physics professor and not...whatever this is.

Otto: Actually, Peter Parker is a student of his. It's how we met in the first place. We've had our battles but I still have to admit the boy's brilliant. Brilliant...but lazy.

It surprised me to see this movie acknowledge the trend of killing villains in superhero movies and use that as a main plot point for the villains in this one.

Yeah I know
Technically sandman and lizard didn’t die
They didn't
Lizard ended up in jail
But they still knew Peter's identity so they were in the movie. But the villains that was alive was the ones that were also underutilized in the movie which sucks, they could have made the Lizard more three-dimensional rather than the Lizard he was in TASM1.
@@somecallmejeremy I can't remember if it was strictly Covid measures that prevented the two actors from appearing physically, but I'd bet that the need for digital de-aging (which was already being used on Dafoe and Molina) was a factor. Why bother spending more time and money editing the actors' scenes when they can just use the CGI versions the whole movie and just splice old footage for the curing scene?
This would naturally push them out of the spotlight given how the 3D characters don't convey emotion as well
@@NamelocTheBard Good point, plus Sony also have the need to release a Spider-Man movie every 2 years so they could still have the Spider-Man rights hence the December 2021 date with Far From Home being released in 2019.
Nonetheless, I still hope they did characterize the other two villains so they can have their moments of shine because Lizard and Sandman is underrated villains.
Here's hoping they reuse them for the next Spider-Man trilogy.
Never in a million years in my lifetime did I believe I would ever see a Spider Man movie like this. Having all of the villains come back and team up with each other is just unbelievable. If Bernard the butler figured out how Norman died I’m pretty sure Octavius was able to figure it out before the news got to it
Exactly. Octavius was a genius and was clearly acquainted with Osborn, possibly close friends given their first-name basis. It’s not a stretch to assume that he learned of it long before the public became aware of it after he and Harry were dead.
@@12classics39 also, considering that Osborn supposed died around the same time the Green Goblin fought and was killed by Spider-Man. Doc Ock probably put 2 and 2 together
The way Norman says Ottos last name really gave me goosebumps, but in a good way as a Spider Man fan. I always wondered if they knew each other in their own universe and this finally proves that they do know each other considering the fact that they’re both villains of Spider Man and they’re both scientists before they both turned bad. I have to say. This movie really brought almost everything full circle.

Norman: I'm guessing Harry tried to help Spider-man fight you and this Venom guy?

0:27 I was hoping Doc Ock would give a much better reaction, I mean this was a "Dead Friend." But, if I had to guess, the tentacles were too busy giving the "error" message in Doc Ock's head, which hindered some "emotional reunion" function.
If I were to guess, back then Doc would've felt the same as anyone else about the green goblin and now to find out it was your friend all along who had killed and hurt people to get his way.
Later: "Says the reckless fool who turned himself into a monster!" Hypocritical but true.
Sandman and Lizard are the only non-MCU live-action Spider-Man villians not to have died. As Lizard/Curt Connors was cured by The Amazing Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and Spider-Man/Peter Parker choose to spare Sandman/Flint Marko and not kill or arrest him in Spider-Man 3 (2007).
This was one of my favorite parts of the movie man
Same here
Yeah
Lizard and Sandman didn’t die tho
Exactly.
Exactly
But they don't know that.
Yeah, I was wondering why they didn’t just confirm that. I mean, I get that Max didn’t get to answer Lizard asking if he died because Strange interrupted the conversation, but Max could’ve said when Peter came back that Lizard didn’t die. He could’ve said how Connors was cured and then arrested for not just trying to turn everyone into lizards, but also for killing Captain Stacy. Andrew’s Peter could’ve even mentioned what happened to Connors after he cured him when they were at the school. Tobey’s Peter could’ve even mentioned how he didn’t kill Marko and they both ended on good terms.
@@ryanstauffer119 Agreed.
Lmao Lizard with a british accent is hilarious asf. 😂😂
The beeps over Electro swearing always makes me laugh, it's just perfectly timed and I can't help it. XD
Otto thought Osborn is dead but unfortunately he's not
I kinda thought if they knew each other. My thought if they made spider man 4. Dr. Connors as the lizard would made appearence in no way home really surprise on seeing both Osborn and Octavius.
Much respect for Sandman and The Lizard for being the only villains that didn't die
I never considered sandman as villain tbh
If I went into NWH having not seen the Raimi films I would've assumed that these Ock/Osborn had a whole movie or two together because that's how instant their chemistry is
0:29 you can also hear a snippet of the Green Goblin theme
No wonder Sam Raimi felt honored after watching this
Seeing the look on their faces learning about their deaths, was unsettling. Like if they get invincible during their battles only to then realize they were about to die.
1:43 💀😂
Doc Oc and Sandman both have arguments that they aren’t evil at all. Sandman is influenced mainly by helping his daughter and Doc Oc is brainwashed by the tentacles
The same for all actually
It was great to finally see Osborn and Octavius actually interact with each other, not counting the behind the scenes blooper from Spiderman 2, where Willem Dafoe was wearing the arms, and performing Alfred Molinas lines.
I loved how all his previous villains finally meet each other.
So many great moments but one small thing that hits, when the Lizard/Dr. Connors says "Max...do you know...do I die?"
Thanos- “and that is destiny fulfilled.”
heres an idea, the villans get zapped to this universe as soon as they find out who he is. this for some of them allowing the cure they got to actually help them. however. doc oc is still doomed to die because of how he found out. he found out moments before his death making him unable to live a live free of the voices. instead having to make amends for what he has done by taking his life.
He went back still holding the arc reactor so there is a chance he could stabilize the machine with that.
I like to believe this was during the moment that he had peter by the throat and seemed to suddenly go from bent on continuing his project to helping save the city.
This gives me the chills when my childhood villains talk especially Flint Marko
Dead:
Green Goblin: Impaled by the glider he flew around on.
Doc Ock: Drowned in the Hudson river with his machine.
Electro: exploded after an energy overload.
Alive:
Sandman: escaped as a fugitive after the final battle with Venom.
Lizard: Cured with the antidote made by Gwen and then incarcelated.
I like the way this scene was written, you didn't necessarily have to watch the Raimi Trilogy or the Webb Duology to feel the intensity of the scene
Sandman: they both died, they both died by fighting Spider-Man
Sandman: it was all over the news, Green Goblin impaled by the glider you flew around on and a couple years later you Doc Ock drowned in the river with your machine
Doc Ock: that’s nonsense, Spider-Man was trying to stop my fusion reactor so I stopped him, I had him by the throat and then I …. And then I was here
Electro: oh please let me tell you something I was whooping Spider-Man’s a*s he’ll tell you and then he caused an overload I was stuck in the grid absorbing data I was about to turn into pure energy and then I … oh sh*t I was about to die
Lizard: Max do you know do I die?
Electro: no not really Connors because after Spider-Man stopped you from turning the whole city into lizards he turned you back into your human form and then you were sent to prison
Electro - Not just for nearly turning everyone into lizards, but because you killed the captain of the police department
Lizard doesnt die.
Jesus Christ I still cannot get over that horrendous CGI for the lizard
What made this even more better is that we're seeing Norman and Otto talk for the first time on screen because in the trilogy they didn't talk at all
Worthy to note that what tom holland’s Spider-Man did could result in the timelines of the Andrew Garfield and tobey maguire universe being changed
Like green goblin would return to when he left and would either die or would survive, both being altered
And doctor octopus would return to his time and- well that might not change who knows
And the list goes on
This is too good
I swear, at 1:55 I know it’s bleeping out “oh shit” but it feels like it’s bleeping out a “fuck” or “oh fuck” . Maybe just me.
When I saw this scene, I knew it had to make sense that norman and otto knew each other because of how harry and otto were working together before Otto became doc ock
You know what's terrifying, green goblin is taking note of everyone that is close to Peter.
Connors will never know if he was meant to die
It's really cool tho because in the sam Rami movies we get mentions that Norman and Otto know each other but we don't see that, but here we get to see Otto and Norman share the scene together and it's amazing seeing them and the villains all together
This movie is just awesome, having every universe intersect, it just makes a fan who has seen every single one of these movies feel like a child again. It is going to be a long time before a movie will have this hype again.
I’m surprised that Electro didn’t tell Lizard that he got cured and later sent to jail.
Sandman would be like ‘ What?
Goblin would be like ‘ You gotta be kidding me!
Doc Ock would like’ Lucky Bastard!
I think that Green Goblin was brought to this universe some time after meeting MJ for the first time while also figuring out his Spider-Man’s identity
Norman found out tobey was Spider-Man after the thanksgiving scene so it had to be some time after that
This scene was so cool. I found it funny when Lizard was like “Max. Do I die?” 😂
I miss the harry osborn (new goblin) damn, would be so perfect if he returned...
Thank you. I thought the whole just kill them off was a sad thing. Except Vemon and Mysterio they weren’t tragic villains.
Not all of them ask to have evil powers, I know the main arc word are : with great power comes great responsibility but the dark side of is also : with great power comes great insanity if its not use responsible.
To be frank, if I was placed in this situation and even if I know that each of the villains died if I send them back home…I would have been gung go about sending them back
Plus let me add that I may have Spider-Man powers but I’m not a genius in creating cures for all them
"With great power comes great insanity.
A quote that effectively summarizes all the Supes in *The Boys* series.
Venom was kinda tragic not Brock though
@@Deathmare235 how vemon tragic? It tries to corrupt Peter. There was a Deleted scene that eddie was consume by vemon literally all there was left was his skeleton bones.
@@angiereyes7856 he wasn’t corrupting him he just has a twisted way of bonding with people and it wasn’t that bad in the movies it was more like Peter stopped repressing his anger rather than being evil
Ya know, when Otto first appeared on screen on the bridge, I wondered why he wasn't good because Peter told him to fight the arms. But then after seeing this I realized he was pulled in before that
Electro: I was whooping spider-man's a**. 🤣🤣
I like how Dr. Connors asks Electro if he died or not with that curious smile on his face.
Really enjoyed that they gave Jamie Foxx more lines in this movie
I'd have loved to have seen Dane DeHaan's Goblin in this too. Taking on the role of Defoe's Goblins 'true son' ans watching them fight their respective spiderman 2 on 2, that would have been insane.
It's a real shame Big Stan didn't live long enough to have seen this.
They should’ve had Norman as the Goblin not harry
@@Deathmare235 Maybe so, but that's not what this comment was talking about.
@@pablomenendez2319 DeHaan should’ve never been the Goblin
I think Green Goblin would have been very proud and amused about that version of his son.
@@Deathmare235 his goblin wasn’t that bad and His design and glider was also about 100x better than James Franco’s harry
Great dialogue
I think Sandman found out about Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus' deaths sometime after Spider-Man 3. Their deaths didn't seem to be made public in Tobey's movies. Sandman never said where or when he found out about their deaths
