Why do you carry a second pair of free skates with you?

I have a question, is it still practical with a heavy backpack? Like is pumping harder or is it harder to turn or anything?

Once you’re comfortable on the skates, it’s definitely possible. I carried heavy camera gear in my bag around my college campus all the time, and pumping and turning wasn’t really affected! If you’re trying to force yourself up hills, gravity will start to fight you more. Otherwise, on flat and downhill, I think it’s just a weight distribution thing, depending on what it is you’re carrying. If it’s super heavy, just know you’ll have more momentum when going downhill - something to keep in mind. Hope that helps 👍 -Gabe
