Just got done with my own chill skate session and I log on to see you guys had the same idea! This is the side of freeskates I think people ignore. Sometimes you throw down some sick tricks, some times you gotta just take in the scenery and flow!

That camera might be useful for showing footwork at full speed. Around 18:15 you can see Jeff's stance really well. Heels well off the back, toes slightly off the front, rotation of the skates coming from a combination of hip and ankle but a bit more ankle, and most interestingly: that snappy roll back and forth of the skates on the outside of each carve, most obvious on the back foot. I'd love to see a comparison of the JMK guy's stances from this low view. Gabe is looking really fluid, too!
Totally! Thats some amazing content you all. It further translates that multidirectoinal freedom you have on the skates!
Although I may wanna add that as much the tracks were top notch fiting to the vibe. It was a missed opportunity that they werent mixed together properly and lacked smooth transitions.

I gotta get me some of these. I am 47 and used to skateboard, aggressive inline and surf. Looks can be deceiving but this is probably hard to learn

That was like an 11 mph pace, which is pretty fast for cruising. Seeing the fastest you could go on free skates over a couple miles would be cool.

What shoes are you guys skating with? I bought some vans that make my feet hurt, i heard i have to break them in but... toes hurt and your shoes look comfortable!

Oh it’s so much fun! You could take multiple angles to this question….
Starting out, the freeskates are a bit more tiring as you need to learn how to stay upright, learn the ‘S’ motion, etc. But once you’ve built up your stamina and technique, no matter the ride, it just comes down to your endurance (like running).
One cool advantage of freeskates is the ability to step off and relax for a couple of minutes. We talk about this as well as other tips in our distance freeskating video!
All to say, it’s all pretty much the same once you’re comfortable with your ride 😁 Hope you get the chance to try freeskating someday!

Definitely! Just takes practice.
I'm thinking of buying some orange Freeskates but I don't know if it's a good idea since the wheels will get dirty. Is it better to buy the black Freeskates?
Black would hide it the most, but honestly you can’t go wrong with most colors. Just know that if you get white wheels they will get dirty a lot more quickly!

I can't wait until I have this level of proficiency. I still can't go uphill, and I can only stay on for 30-60 seconds before my calves start to cramp up o_O
The more you ride that will go away. Battle through and you'll be riding long distance!

The endurance comes with practice! Soreness should eventually subside :)

You guys should promote and wear yourselves, protective equipment man. Many kids unfortunately have died just with simple skateboards when trying to learn and not wearing helmets because once you slide backwards it happens in less than a second. Free skates are the hardest of all skate methods and to be the face of the sport and not talk about safety equipment seems douchey, specially if you guys truly want other kids to have fun and embrace this sport. HELMETS, Elbow pads and knees pads. Wrist guards maybe, although I never liked them.
We always promote pads and helmets! Every person has an individual choice to wear them as you well know. They are specifically noted with every pair of skates we sell and our website. ☺
