I can't imagine it's that cold there! HA! But, yeah here I have to always be sweeping up, bark, wood debris from split logs, wood when I bring in and store inside. I'm a lazy bachelor. I WATCHED, this video at 05:45 1/5/2023 CDT, Minnesota/USA, and comment @ 20:11 CDT. Wood is messy, but cheap. and a extremely Dry heat, but it does the necessary job. HEAT! Everyone's different, and every situation..

We are a bit old fashion both of us were bought up with wood stoves and never grew out of it. Gets down to 0 c in winter frost and cold nights. In summer we give the wood stove a run every 3 days or so to heat the water up, it stays warm enough for a shower each day that way. John

Very cool. Nothing like having good dry stuff for a fire

Nice that everything is a loose fit in there. Leaves plenty of room for the Browns to curl up out of the rain! 😜😁
Healthy looking Carnie. I remember getting quite a liven-up while climbing down a Creek bank once. A huge dark-patterned one right over my head in a Forest Oak. For a moment I thought that Crocs had started climbing trees! 😱🙄😊

Great job John and Pat👍we’ve got the black cockys squawking in the gum tree out the back as I watch this - beautiful birds but bloody noisy- all the best to you 2 for the coming year- cheers from Tassy

Good to hear that the black cocky's spread from North Queensland to Tasmania. A few years ago some (expert) reckoned they were just about wiped out. At the time we had them thick and I had reports from Northern NSW and Victoria that they had a heap. Unfortunately people love bad news. Hope 24 is a good year for you. John

@@farminglifeaustralia6716 There are, of course, several different species of "Black Cockatoos" scattered around Oz. Journalists rarely bother to get the context right. Some are rarer, some as common as muck.
Our Red-Tails are pretty common over a wide area - and a lovely sight when watching them come into a trickle of water over a rock bar against the afternoon sun shining through the red feathers.
Can't spend a lifetime working in the bush without getting an appreciation of some of nature's beauties. 😉😊

@@theoztreecrasher2647 Yeah the bloke expert probably didn't see a palm cockatoo in Tasmania and said black cockatoos are in danger. I think most people who work in the bush or at sea get a connection with the birds and animals. We have heaps of wallabies here and I still take time to watch them even though they are as common as mud. John
