Hi Katie, I really enjoyed seeing your completed work from July. Starmaker was really gorgeous. I enjoyed seeing the many special drills in the old masters kits. As always I appreciate hearing your comments on each kit. Looking forward to joining everyone for Drills and Chills.
Bad rendering choices are becoming a pet peeve of mine. I bought a kit recently from a company I will not name. The colors were completely different than the original artwork. I was so disappointed. I will be buying another set of drills for the kit.

I know you didn’t technically complete the full DP for your original cross stitch conversion, but I feel like it should still be included in your completed totals because you put so much time and effort into it! Not that it matters overall, but I feel like your efforts in completing it deserve at least an honorable mention 😁

The custom kit that I received from them was a round. I had the same problems with the colors and symbols. They had a lot of trash with the rounds as well, and I too, had enough drills to complete. Because of popping drills, I had to apply a heavy sealer.

Great review of your July work! I don’t think that Diamond Dotz gets enough attention or love that it deserves. I’ve completed their kit called Dragon Princess and it’s stunning! The drills are so sparkly and it has some special drills too. I just wish they would improve their range. Thanks for sharing your finishes with us! They are all very beautiful!
I also did one of his where the floor is my favourite. It is called the listner by John William Waterhouse. I also loved her dress which was also red. The dark was getting me down however.
I am currently working on DAC Mystery Kit by Anne Stokes. My whole family enjoyed the Fire Dragon. We are excited to see what the mystery painting will reveal. The event is hosted by Becky's Bling.
Surprisingly I can see if difference between your two large customs. What bothered me on the last one was I could see the lines on the lighter drills. Just didn't look right. I see fr original art work that just may not be a problem. Very excited to see more as you reveal your progress.

Hi Katie. I had exactly the same experience with a custom of my son and daughter through Dreamer Designs. There was many a time that I felt like throwing the whole thing away and I have made a note to self to never buy another custom through DD. I have also found that there were very much the same experiences with square drills (in particular) in other projects. The main problem with them is that the drills are far from uniform in size. It definitely detracts from the thrill one experiences after laying down an area of drills. The relaxation and serenity one is supposed to experience while working on a diamond painting canvas.
But I have also had a bad (bad, bad, BAD) experience with Diamond Art Club’s Rainbow Lil DragonZ. I love the image but of I wanted to do this work to go on the wall of my toddler granddaughter’s bedroom. I was so frustrated with this project that every time I worked on it I felt like slitting my wrists! 🤯😩. I saw that you had this project in your stash so I am hoping that the problems I experienced were an aberration and that your experience is better than mine. W and
This comment has turned into a real whinge feat so I had better go. Perhaps I should not have mentioned names but I feel that once bitten twice shy🙈 and if I was a subscriber reading this comment I would be grateful for the tips. Mind you, I would probably still buy Lil DragonZ hoping that the painful, whinging subscriber’s experience was a one off.
I had just accidentally asked rachael about an update on the cross stitch coversion 🤣 glad you did an update! I just started an ever moment yesterday and love it so far so I was wondering how yours was! Happy that it's going better than the last one!

Hi Katie. Enjoyed your video. I’m working on DAC Mystery kit - Landscape. It’s my first mystery kit and it’s huge! 105 by 70 cm which translates to 41.3 x 27.6 inches. I’ve been working on it on and off since the middle of May. I’ve taken a couple of breaks to work on other kits. I guess I’m probably a slow diamond painter, but I’m enjoying working on it. It’s beautiful so far. My 75th birthday is in August. Other than that, there’s nothing special going on. I hope you and your family are doing well.

I enjoy your thorough reviews. I have Woman in Gold and am excited to start it now. I did complete their kit The Kiss which also had a lot of special drills and was fun to do. I also have Lady with Fan which has more color to it. I just finished a version of the Van Gogh too! I love all your projects.
I have ordered 3 Dreamer Design pieces (Rykovich damsels) and I am so nervous as I see more concerning posts than positive. Your finishes are wonderful and despite any struggles they turned out great.
I am working on a same size 2.0 DD canvas now (have been for over a year, I am a slow diamond painter). I don’t find the printed colours to be over saturated at all - I find the colours really easy to work with actually (and I like to use a light pad). I’m also lucky to not really have many similar symbols - maybe just one pair, but they’re very different colours so I’m fine with it. However… the drills are a nightmare! I completely agree with you about working with them being such a frustrating experience :/

Always love to see what you have completed each month. I completed The Desert Princess and Valentine Spaniel both from DAC and have only a small square left of Curl Up With a Good Book by Randal Spangler that I was working on for the Dragonlings and Books event. For August I plan on participating in the Smash in the Specials event as I love to work with special shapes and Claws and Paws. I might start another project too, but I'm not sure yet. I can no longer stand bad drills. I did a dreamer designs and man it was a ship wreck. I actually had to quit. I will never buy from them again.
This will be my second year participating in #OZinAUG..so I'm working on that this month!
i was originally going to work on a custom from dreamer designs but i couldn’t even start it because of how bright the rendering was so i didn’t get to participate. i also just do not like THAT much confetti

I think I remember you saying you have a video on how to tell if your piece is artist supported but I can’t seem to find. Could you please tell me how to find
I am floored that Starmaker is the first time you have run out of diamonds on a DAC! I’ve completed over 30 DAC’s and I ran out of a color with the very first one. Since then I think about 5 more kits needed more diamonds on a couple colors. The percentage there is kinda sucky. With the more perfected diamonds I also notice a lot less leftovers. Not a deal breaker but it can stress me out. Awesome finishes this month by the way! July was event heavy for me just like August. Actually August looks even busier because I chose larger canvases for 6 events. YIKES! But its ok. I will push hard in the beginning of August leading up to the school year starting. I’ll be doing #OzinAug, #Beattheheat2022, #ClawsandPaws2022, #DPSummersky22, #Thegreatescape, #Smashinthespecials4. I’m doubling with one canvas so its really 5 projects plus a lot of special drill small ones. I got this! I think…

How do you order customs of art work instead of a photo?
I was interested about what this recap would hold. I was a little confused with what you said concerning gem share compared to your journal. You said what you had on gem shares vs what you’d ACTUALLY worked on. Again you made the comment about diamonds being made”’in house”. I totally understand they aren’t made in the owner’s house. So once again can you explain to me what you mean by that??
