- I watched a video that showed how to memorize the 50 states by Ms. Alexander. I have used her video every year to teach my students the states easily. The other words on this map are Landmarks I think are important for students to learn and write into the map. I also require the state capitals to be written in. I allow the states to be done as initials. The Capitals to be abbreviated. And the landmarks to be drawn in.

Guys this is not one of those clickbait trash tutorials, after watching this video and replaying it, I took out a homework map sheet and wrote down all 50 without looking back at the video or any reference. I had a test yesterday and passed with flying colors. On Monday I knew nothing about my geography unit and was praying not to fail. By Wednesday I could write a map with no issues whatsoever. Sorry this is long I just really want to say thank you for bringing my grade from a 78 to an 89.

Yes, I forgot to mention that. My students told me that MIMAL is the name of the chef that is holding Kentucky like a Chef's Knife or Chicken drumstick. Thanks for the added tip!

its the fifth day of school for me and i have to learn the 50 states and the capitals of it, the 13 original colonies, mountain ranges, bodies of water, etc in just 4-5 days and the test is next week on tuesday. this is a total lifesaver, thank you sm for this video!

He dog is brown because my dad left me at a young age. Then to the left of that, we have a rectangular prism that just got fired because the robot are taking over. Then at the bottom you put write virginity because your chug jug glitched and you actually care. And bam that’s how you memorize the periodic table
The only reason I remember rode Island without even looking at it is because my siblings were joking around about themselves, saying they had appetites the size of california. So I asked them what mine was, and they said Rode Island.
I probably eat the least amount of food in my family, so I just connected the dots.
I have a test coming up and this really helped thanks!

this is the most useful thing i ever found, thank you i have a test tomorrow and i had no idea how to do this, you saved me(!!)
I can recite the states in less than a minute and just go west to east, north to south. (AK, HI then WA, OR, CA, etc) The capitals take a few minutes longer. Lists are a sleep aid for me. Faces of friends from various states come up and helps me to remember.
Same here. I got the US map implanted in my brains for 80 years. The capitals would take me about the same time.

Is there some way to remember which state letter is which? Like how there are multiple M states
Jonathan33gold Minnesota looks like Minnie Mouse, Michigan looks like a Mitten, Missouri is in the middle of a bunch of states because Missouri (Misery) loves company, Montana has Mountainous zigzags in the left border, Maryland has Merry people because there is water splitting the state and water makes people merry, Maine is the Main part of the east coast, Massachusetts has a Hook because there is much fishing. Hope that helps.
