DBFZ - What to do After Blocking a Super Dash [Season 3]

- Super Dash. Hate it or love it, is it a unique mechanic in Dragon Ball FighterZ that is frequently used. While a lot of people might just tell you to “2H it bro”, this can be quite difficult sometimes where you’re mostly forced to block it. I’ve seen a lot of people get away with free pressure, or get easy hits, because the opponent is not familiar with what they can do after blocking this homing dash. So what are our defensive options? In this video, I’ll be covering 2 very useful Option Selects as well as give other tips for other situations. Option Selects (OS) is when you do one action/input, but it covers multiple situations. These don’t work against Super Dash (SD) + Assist, making this a very strong option. All you can really do there is reflect the assist away, but this is a favourable situation for the aggressor. This is why SD + assist is a very popular option, even at high levels.. I hope you enjoy this video, don’t forget to like and subscribe!

5:28 You can only 2H if the SD angle causes the JL followup to whiff or if the button they use is too slow to counterhit 2H also, sparking SD jails into JLs if it's blocked in the air.
Yes angle does matter, but so does the 2H. For example, Black does anti-air a follow-up jL from more angles than SSJ Goku. It also depends on the normal they use, but the jL doesn’t have to whiff. I guess I should’ve spoken about angles more, but it doesn’t matter that much since, even if the 2H doesn’t come out, you’d be blocking their jL follow up. As for in the air, that’s common knowledge and there’s nothing you can do (unless you have an air reversal) which is why I didn’t really add anything to that. Thank you! I should’ve spoken on that but you can’t do anything but reversals (DPs, level 3, some anti air specials). The timing is tricky though :( it’s a hard situation to defend against

Do these options apply to a blocked vanish as well? Or should you just dash block after a blocked vanish?
Not really, since a blocked SD has them in the air and is 0 on block, whereas a vanish is +2 on block & is grounded. Dash block L is a good one since it covers cross up, DR, and blocks 5L. But sometimes u gotta just play the + on block mind game with a DP or mash

Online people wanna "punish" point blank sd with a fake ass shit 2m. But it ends up working cause inputs get eaten it drives me furious 😭
I hate when inputs get eaten😭 The only time that a 2M works out is if they used up their double jump & decide to just mash (for some reason?) after getting their SD blocked. Ppl online see the pros do it, so they try to imitate them without looking to see if their opponent still have their double jump or not smh

To be more precised, it’s an air invulnerable frame 4 DP like Yamcha’s gale claw. That’s why it’s used to punish SDs in the air
