    I routed mine all the way to the end of the rear fender by the right exhaust pipe.. It worked great. I’ve had it for couple years no issues.

    Did you get the updated oil pump in your bike? Also, now that you’ve had the dipstick for a while, what are your thoughts? Any feedback is very much appreciated.

      @kidmoto22  Před 2 lety

      I do not have the updated oil pump yet. I’m working on a full cam chest upgrade to include the oil pump upgrade. I like this install because it is easy and can solve some issues for sure. It’s a little costly but it’s cheaper than the oil pump if you have to pay for all the work at a dealer or independent shop.

      @@kidmoto22 thanks for the response bro! I’m getting a cam upgrade as well and wondered if the dipstick and updated oil pump were necessary or if one would suffice.

      @@Kingdlack if your doing a cam upgrade just do the whole cam chest to include the oil pump. That will likely solve any issues you might have or develop.

    Great vid for what looks to be an incredibly helpful mod. Thanks!
    Does it work as intended?

    • @kidmoto22
      @kidmoto22  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes at the end of the vid I mention that I ran it 822 miles without any blow-by from the air cleaner. It’s one of the best useful and practical mods I’ve done.

    The vented oil dipstick is only half of the solution for curing the engine oil in your air cleaner problem. The other half of the solution is redirecting engine oil from the cylinder head breathers away from the air cleaner and into the transmission top cover. Just installing the vented dipstick only, will not stop engine oil from entering the air cleaner and making a mess of the inside of your intake manifold and all over the right side of your motorcycle and your right side pant leg while you ride. If you are not going to do both modifications, then the one that is most important which is redirecting engine oil to the transmission top cover. If you aren’t going to do the oil redirect, then the vented dipstick is pointless. And here’s some more food for thought, venting to atmosphere right in front of the rear tire is the stupidest thing anyone could ever do! If oil did make it to the breather filter, guess where said oil is going to go? All over the rear tire, and we all know oil and tires don’t play well together! Especially while you have the bike leaned over in a curve! Not to mention if you did happen to crash your bike because of an oily rear tire, your insurance company will NOT cover any part of the accident when they find out what you did to cause the accident after they do there total loss inspection!

      @kidmoto22  Před 2 lety

      The other solution is the complete CAM chest with the new oil pump and that install is coming this spring.
      There’s more than one way to skin a cat!

    • @H2HB2B
      @H2HB2B Před 2 lety +1

      A good oil pump will help, but still won’t cure the problem entirely. Engines will always have blowby no matter what. There’s a lot of good videos right here on CZcams about redirecting the oil. You should check them out.

    Hello. How much oil are you losing? I am losing about a quarter of oil over 3700 miles. But there is no blowby at all. Intake is almost completely dry.

      @@kidmoto22 good deal. After years and research, definitely needed oil pump update(Same as the Twin Cam). To much oil(Over filling) has caused a high majority misting/sumping issues. Additional venting and a catch can system is a must. IMO

    So when you do this mod, that substitutes doing the mod from the breather / or venting from the top of the transmission cover?

    • @kidmoto22
      @kidmoto22  Před 2 lety +1

      It’s a different but close mod to the breather mod.
      The venting on the trans cover is for the excessive crankcase pressure.
      In my opinion this mod or the trans cover mod would be the best ones without modifying your air intake.
