Yes please do a video for each phase that would be super helpful!
I think I will! :)
@@MissFitAndNerdy yay!!
I agree, running around and playing your cats is a fun form of minor cardio. It also makes sure that they stay fit and stimulated.
Exactly!! I want my cat to be the healthiest cat ever haha
@@MissFitAndNerdy if it resonates, I would love a feline health video from you!
YES!!!! I’m so glad more influencers are talking about this!
And that you’re talking about it because you give so many concrete real world examples of what you’re eating and why. I’m not pro at dealing within my phases, but I’m getting better at it and I definitely feel better and more connected with myself and others when I’m more in line with my cycle.
Yes please a video on each phase would be great! Also have you ever talked in detail about your journey with Celiac disease? I'd love to hear more about your experience there and autoimmune diseases in general since I know you've struggled there!
It’s actually not much of a story-I haven’t really struggled with it or because of it. I got sick all the time and a kid (because of the autoimmunity) but then I was diagnosed when I was 11, immediately went strictly gluten free, and stopped getting sick. It’s only bad if I accidentally eat gluten!
I agree !! Yes yes yes all of this exactly the reason I’m in school right now for holistic nutrition and hormone balancing specifically
This is perfect! I literally just started cycling with my period, so I’m very happy you made this video! Please make it into a series!
This video was extremely helpful! I would LOVE to see you do a video surrounding each phase. It’s really crazy how we aren’t taught this in school when it very directly affects our quality of life. Thanks for putting this information out there. ❤️
Yes a video like this for each phase would be fantastic!
This was SUPER intersting! I made so many notes haha. Ready to dive more into this topic myself!
Definitely going to have to read those books - I have 2 teen girls that experience all of the period symptoms you listed - so I’ll have to look into helping them balance their hormones
Yes please do a video on each phase that would be amazing!
Watching this a second time, because there was so much good information in it! I would love love love more videos like this in different cycles. And I already added those books to my shopping cart. Ha ha.
please do a video with each phase!! I just got off my birth control and I’m trying to get my hormones back in balance haha 😅
Please please do videos on all phases of the menstrual cycles! I am learning so much!
I will!! I'll try to do another one next month about a different phase :)
@@MissFitAndNerdy THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’m so excited. Thank you for the work you do!
I second the point that everyone (especially everyone with a uterus) should read those books!
I read them and even own The Period Repair Manual in 3 forms; it’s that good
Very informative thank you!
in my luteal phase I almost always end up craving korean food (tons of sesame in it) or tahini dressing! I would crave this before I made the connection to seed cycling
that's so interesting!! it's amazing how intuitive our bodies are!!
Thanks, really enjoyed this video, a lot of great info and tips! My cycle is very irregular (always has been, and more so of late). Do you have any tips on how to determine which phase of my cycle I'm in? Cheers!
Hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤️
thank you!
Def want to see your take for the ovulation and menstruation too !
Great video! To add to your point about your strength level being lower during the luteal phase; statistically speaking, there is an increased risk for injury during lifting due to hormones causing ligaments to be more lax. An example would be a torn ACL. Ouch!!
Yes this too!!
im on my luteal phase❤
Thank you
Not related to this video, but I didn't think you would reply on your older videos.
My question is, I'm in the middle of doing a reverse diet now and I'm up 400 calories so far, I want to get to 2000 calories a day, but after I reach that goal do I need to maintain on that for a while before I do a cut? Or can I go straight into a cut?
And by the way finding you videos has changed my life and relationship with food/exercise, I'm forever great full ❤️
What yoga do you do? Is it on CZcams? And if so can you post a link 😊Thanks for all the great information!
It was Yoga with Tim! I usually follow his videos :)
Ur right this is stuff schools and our parents didn’t teach us. I’m like a sponge for all ur content esp this issue right here. And I have your first video on this topic in my library as well. Which been wanting to go rewatch. And share with some others. I’m Asking for my daughter what is the safest birth control you’d rec. she is afraid of messing her hormones (don’t blame her). Has anything been invented yet? Thanks. Also she’s only had like a period 4times a year we were concerned for a while now 5yrs later it’s actually becoming normal dunno what changed yet. Thanks again sharing all ur knowledge. And any tips regarding menopause I’m almost there tryin to prepare for smooth sailing lol.
It's outside my scope of practice to recommend a type of birth control. I can only speak to what I do. Personally I use the Fertility Awareness Method, specifically Sensiplan which is a symptothermal method. If you want to learn about it, there's a guidebook on amazon! I personally would be highly unlikely to ever go back on hormonal birth control (pill, iud, etc) and I've heard too many horror stories about the copper IUD to use that either. There's something called Oui that is currently in development (theindexproject.org/post/oui) but there's not a lot of info or studies on it yet. I'm just keeping an eye on it because it seems promising
It’s true which is why I’ve been teaching it to my girls. All thanks to these videos! 😊
@@MissFitAndNerdy thank you so much for this and taking the time to respond. Thai awareness has become a big topic and concern for up and coming youth. I will look into this method thank you. I know my girl wants some better solutions/options for when it’s time to get married and need something that’s healthy and safe. Mayb also by then this Oui thing will be an option or so. 👍🤞😊
I would love to see other videos in other cycles! I was wondering…if you don’t know what phase your in (due to irregular cycles) how would you estimate what phase you are in? I have struggled with HA but now that I have my period from time to time I found out I have PCOS and have been struggling to balance things out. I want to really focus on supporting my body but not sure how to do it if I don’t know what phase I am in. Should I just base it off of basal body temperature?
I took Vitex until I got my period back, that really helped
Literally going for a consult with my gyno to figure out how to fix my hormones so I’m not in agony 😢
I hope they're able to help! I've heard a lot of women just get told to go on the pill to fix their issues though (which doesn't fix anything, it is just a band aid) so if you get a gyno who is dismissive of what you want, I recommend the book The Period Repair Manual and Beyond the Pill!
Hi Marisa 👋 I have been watching you for years! I feel a bit foolish because I am a young 46 year old following along in your journey. I still have regular periods but I know that menopause clock is coming for me lol. I workout 5-7 days a week alternating between heavy lifting and hitt training. 30-45 min sessions. Can you please help me I this next upcoming next phase in my life 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yes good point! What do we do with diet and exercise when that phase starts? I’ve been wondering that too as a 43 year old. Crossing my fingers it won’t start until I’m 50. 🤞 😊
Wouldn’t focusing on health and exercise for your cycle help you to lose fat anyway? If it’s healthier than where you’re at before changing eating habits and exercise
Wow that’s terrifying.. I always get bad exhaustion brain fog and pms during my period..
THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS. I’m so tired of everyone on the “flo” app in the little “secret chats” saying I’m abnormal for not having any negativity during my cycle. And I’m tired of feeling like I’m alone in this when other people say it’s normal to only feel good for one week out of your cycle. Like, everyone on TikTok and everywhere keeps saying “I only feel good for one week” and it’s made me feel like it doesn’t have to be that way.. more people should take care of themselves and figure out “why”.” I’m not trying to be rude to the people who have horrible cycles but I just felt so alone when I realized when I started taking care of myself, I rarely had PMS. But, other people keep complaining about “I only feel good for one week” and that’s just such a depressing mindset!
Do you have any studies on the calorie increase during the luteal phase? That's really interesting
I've read them but I don't have them saved, sorry! There's definitely some variation in findings-some studies suggest minimal change in metabolic rate and others show more. From what I've read, it seems like it is highly dependent on the individual.
The thing that I noticed was close to ovulation, I might get over confident and push a little too hard and then I'd be ass over tea kettle (MTB). Husband says that it sounds like what it's like when testosterone takes over LOL
Is there any good research out there on seed cycling?
It just comes down to nutrients that support different phases of your cycle. There's plenty of research to show that we need more of different nutrients to in different phases. And different seeds have different nutrients. There's nothing really magical about it--you could just as well take a supplement or something
Book Recommendation for you and many other women that is equally excellent is by Aviva Romm- Hormone Intelligence. She is an integrative practitioner, midwife and Harvard OB/GYN
Thank you for this video. I’ve been sick and I’m about to start, yet I’ve been thinking I’ll lift tomorrow. 😳🙄
Maybe take it easy, especially because you've been sick!
Do you have resources or recommendations for getting off of birth control safely with a long term partner ?
I recommend reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility :)
Am I weird? Right before my period I am usually strongest and leanest 😅

What are your thoughts on pilates/yoga for hormone balance? There has been a bit of a movement on TikTok and other platforms saying it's the best way to balance hormones, taking up pilates and cutting weightlifting. I have found it to be the opposite, weight training has pretty much single handedly regulated my cycle. Thoughts? X
Guess we're at the same point in our cycles... Is that TMI? 😂
Saaaaame!
CYCLE SISTERS!!! 💃💃💃
