REASON FOR TITLE CHANGE - I have seen a lot of the comments regarding my choice of title for this tutorial. It is NOT and most definitely WAS not supposed to be clickbait. Had it been clickbait, you would have seen something like ‘ALMOST GOT HIT BY A BUS!” lol. HOWEVER - with that being said, I have read a lot of what’s been talked about here and spoken to a few of you personally who feel STREET PHOTOGRAPHY was not clearly or well depicted in this video for what we photographed, etc. A better suited title for the information in this video is URBAN PHOTOGRAPHY. Where none of my content is ever published with means to offend, take away from, or minimize other people or their work- I most definitely will recognize my own mistakes because after all, I am still learning too, and never hope to stop.
Ha! When I saw the title and the thumbnail I knew this video had the wrong title. I knew the "street photographers" were gonna be pissed!
Yep. they made some great points I learned a lot from.
I will keep thinking that urban and street photography are on the merging lanes.
I would just rename it “Peter McKinnon’s photography is Dope” Photography #KeepItSimple 😹
You rock Peter! Still a killer video--thanks for always listening to your audience :)
Hype BEAST!
The hypest
Chris Ramsay wooo
Chris Ramsay yeeeetz
Lol
Wow the magician reacts to him I can’t imagine my appreciation both of you🙌🏻🙇♂️💓
That intro was FIRE!!!!!

Title: Urban Photography
Intro be like: Urban Videography
Holy Hype Beast that intro was insane
Such a DOPE intro! Love the smooth pan through the scaffolding, haha. Fun times guys
He's always on it with the intros isn't he! Solid.
I bet he could B-Roll some Homework & make it look cool
he already talked about that
Facts
Hehe Alright men.
True😂😂
Incredible B Rolls, Pete. Keep up the great works!
I can literally see that INTRO for million times and still won't be bored! Amazing work man! Loved it
Same here man !
Hey I know you.
I am your subscriber from Kolkata😊. Would love to meet you in Kolkata. 😊
Hi Saurav, I am one of the old homies who subscribed you
Me too
There really is no better feeling than getting home and looking at something you created from nothing and being proud of it :') Right on Pete! Almost as satisfying as seeing your name on my notification bar :D
More like looking at something you created from X thousand dollar camera, X amount of time, and X release of energy and being proud of it.
Thats true to a certain extent but then again like he always says it's never about the gear you can make amazing pieces of art with really modest equipment, like the one on my channel I shot it with a canon 700d rebel t5i if I'm not wrong :)
When you listen to a guy that owns thousands and thousands of gears and equipment worth to make videos like this with thousands and thousands of dollars worth of training and support, it's kind of absurd lol
Aldrich John what exactly sounds absurd?
When somebody who was all those at his disposal speaks of 'never about the gear' making 'amazing pieces of art'
The intro B-roll transitions were A1!
O yeah dope sneakers👟
CJKnowsTECH the king of b-roll
Whenever my passion is depleting, I come watch this again Pete!
I'm getting my first camera end of the month, I have been doing photography on mobile cameras and cameras that were lent to me. Super excited to hit the streets!
That INTRO is heat! 🔥 and the kicks..no words..
Also, those stills by Mr. Palander are Dope ! LoL... Nice work bro.
Dope Sunrise, Great Coffee, Incredible photographers, Hype kicks, Street Photos and ECHO eviscerated!!! Gah! I am so pumped. :) Thank you for watching this video. That is all. This is the longest pinned comment I have made. bye!
Peter McKinnon love from INDIA 😍😍❤
Peter McKinnon nice one 😁😁.
Have a nice day peter
Peter McKinnon bye
I love street photography, thanks for the great tutorial
You must check out his channel and edits they are so freakin dope, definitely you are gonna collaborate with him after watch this video
czcams.com/video/mDe30LygctI/video.html
Only reason we wear sneakers at 5 in the morning here in South Africa is to make sure we're quicker than the guys trying to take our camera equipment.......
🤣🤣
Nice Intro Roll!
The Song is: In and out of Love (Tigerblood Jewel Remix) by Martin Hall feat. Tigerblood Jewel
Thanks man.. I've been searching for this from ages but missed out on ur comment..
Major difference in audio!! Mids and Highs got a crispy punch to it. This video went hard. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yup, previous room was a tad too dead. This has a more natural crispiness to it.
Still maybe a slight echo but much better sound fantastic improvement
Had to stop the video for a second to say that intro b-roll was legendary.
I love how much inspo you give throughout your videos. I'm a blogger, who just takes photos of makeup, but I have found myself out and about constantly with my camera, looking for that perfect shot to tell a story, and this was SO cool to watch!
Dude, I came across your channel today, and I just can't stop watching your videos. They are so informative for any level photographers, especially a newbie like me. Glad that youtube exist, and glad that you created this channel.
Btw I live in Toronto as well. Going for my first urban photography tomorrow.
Peter: Grab some friends
Friends: Nope
Me: ☹️
*my version*
Peter: Grab some friends
Me: Friends?
Me: :'(
Your reaction to your coffee was my reaction to your intro
Facts
hahahaha I thought the same thing
I've also loved Alen's work. It was his works that made me so keen to be more on street photography. I agree it's anything goes because every single place has it's story! Love it Peter!
My son just recently showed me some of your you tube video's and just want to say it has been such an inspiration as it is like you are in my head! I have so many thoughts, idea's and passions with photography! You are inspiring me to get out and just do what I want to shoot and just see what I can do. I feel so limited when I am asked to do a family shoot and I want to be more creative! Look forward to watching more of you video's!
Been watching your videos for a year now, and I've only grown to love them more Mr. McKinnon. Huge fan here. You've made my CZcams videos better and inspired me to upgrade from s cheap GoPro to a Canon 80D. You're also my inspiration to start photography. I just recently bought the Canon 50mm f/1.8 STM lens which should arrive tomorrow. Hoping to soon start my photography journey. Thank you so much for the incredible amount of inspiration. Hats off to you, sir. You're doing good work.
Thx for the Nike commercial Peter it looks great
You're welcome.
>>> 100%
Camera - photography/cinematography, sneakers and coffee. 😍
Great video Pete. Love your work! And sneaker game on point bud. 👌🏻
Before watching this video, my definition of urban photography was shooting cars, long exposure, panning, or builidngs. This video has completely changed my perspective on this and it has also completely changed the way I think of the composition of my shots. As a beginner photographer this video does have the potential to bring me from beginner to amateur. Thanks a lot
Peter mckinnon vlog year 1: wears same shoes for the entire year
Peter mckinnon vlog year 2: has 10 pairs of hype in a single video 😂
LOL
The very start of the intro felt like a perfume ad. Except more styley.
Haha agree!
So true
It's just a Stock X ad
hahaha :)
It was a perfume ad. I bought the perfume and it smells awesome!
LOL at having to carry the Gimbal stand... man we've came such a long way!!! Great video as always! Keep Killin Peter!
This is one of my favorite topics because I’m used to just living in the city, so many buildings around and urban look. Great topic this expanded my creativity even more 👍🏼
Your editing is seamless! Its pretty insane how you do it! Between buttery 120fps to ramped slo mo! I love it man! Definitely top 3 of my favorite CZcamsrs!
Pls do a mobile photography series
I appreciate the fact that you’re tutorials aren’t set up like generic tutorials, you SHOW what you’re talking about and that makes it great!
That intro is sooooo badass! Love when you and Alan collaborate. Sending love from Croatia :)
Shooting in open shade is such a solid tip for the high noon time of day!!
I thought how does Pete want to up his game......well now I see how....respect....it's great to see how much love he puts into these videos
i haven't finished the video yet...just the Intro, the first minute and a half and I'm blown away. i like the video man, wow just wow.
This is a dope episode, Pete! Really enjoying the tips and it’s definitely an inspiration to go shoot sneakers in a city / urban scenery. I now have reason to go to downtown and shoot my sneakers. Props to you!
the amount of hype in that intro....
Dude seriously that start was awesome from 0:00 to 1:35
You killed it :)
I love the music, how it correlates with the video, motion... it's just crazy stupid how good you do it all man!
Peter. The photos from this shoot are probably some of my favorite street shots you've ever done. KEEP IT UP!! Hello from Helsinki, I hope you enjoy my city! Wish I could meet you while you're here.
I was just scrolling through notifications to see if I missed any of peter’s new videos and POP! There comes a new one♥️♥️💕💕💕🔥🔥
Love the video, but I wouldn't call it street photography. More like product photography in the street. Street photography is more candid shots. Not being a hatter, you're my favorite youtuber!
Dwight Daly Jr. Exactly. The talking about street photography part was cool but I didn't see any street photos other than cool shoes and different angle potraits with urban backgrounds...
Very true! I hate how people think this is street photography. Then you look up #streetphotography on IG and it's filled with random urban pictures like this and nothing actually street...
I had to scroll quite far down for this.
Crap....what did I start! Sorry Pete! lol
Peter, I can see why you have over 2 million subscribers my friend, your stuff is so very different than what anyone else on You Tube, is doing, quite frankly, it's insane. You inspire people to get off their butts and go out and shoot. The B roll, the Attitude the Music, you are on "Fire" my friend, keep it up, it's hypnotic!!!! Your stuff is Banging my friend. Thank your crew and take a bow because you aren't following You Tube, You Tube is following you, damn!!!
Peter thank you so much for all ur tips and videos. I have been following you for awhile now. I started to do photography ab few months ago and by watching ur vids, it has been inspiring to what I can shoot now. Thanks again
And that's how you provide value for your audience! You're such a great inspiration for my channel. Keep it up Pete :)
whole lotta heat in that intro, warmed my lil sneaker head heart😭
Okay this is by far the best B roll I’ve seen in my entire life and I could watch it forever. Amazing!
Hi peter previously my favourite video was Night Photography, but now my this is my favourite. I loved the way u explained and shot the street photography.
That was a really dope montage at the beginning 👍👌
Hi Peter. I was wondering. From start to finish how many hours work did it take to make this video? I'm trying to get some kind of barometer on the time investment for pros.
Dude, best intro b-roll ever (so far). uber-cinematic... congrats!
Amazing video man! I love seeing the passion come out in your explanations. I can really relate. Thanks for this video!
Oouuu.. uuu.. uu.. u.. that is a good cup of B ROLL !
I would be truly interested to watch Peter reviewing series by Cartier-Bresson, Martin Parr, Bruce Gilden, Diane Arbus, Vivian Maier and so on. It would be very interesting to know his opinion on actual "street photography".
You are such a motivating and exciting person, I love your energy!! Now I want to bring my camera outside and find something to shoot :) Thanks for the motivation.
Totally love your enthusiasm. Your energy. Your insights. Thanks for sharing (as always) x
me watching this in 2020 realising i have been watching pete for 3 years now...
well im late
*That intro was dope af*
Loved this! Favourite video in a while, although more related to urban photography in general than street!
You're so awesome man! Never get bored to watch your videos.
"I like shooting sneakers"..."got some great footage"
Hah
Why has nobody liked this, I laughed out loud for real 😂
Always making the dopest videos. Really appreciate you motivating us all to do our best work. Keep grinding! #makeart
man!, i feel like i'm watching an actual movie on youtube, when i'm watching the openning of this video.
i don't know whether you've already known your filmmaking the day you decided to become a youtuber or whether you've picked it up on the fly, but the result is absolutely marvellous!
I always come back to watch this video again and again and again. Simply awesome, Peter.
*That B-Roll* 😍
1:35 that was my reaction after the EPIC/DOPE/COOL B-ROLL ENDED
Thanks for such awesome videos man. You really motive me. I love to see such dope cinematic shots! 😍👌🏻
Completely loved it Pete. Get ready for some IG tags ;)
8:13
LMAO I live in NYC good luck with that
That intro could easily be the next apple advertisement 🔥
THAT FREAKIN B-ROLL IS SICK JESUS!!!
Good job bud. 💪
Loved this video. As an aspiring photographer I was struggling creatively because I didn't know what type of photography I wanted to do. I loved doing portraits, architecture, landscapes, etc. And I didn't just want to stick to one, but after watching this video I think I have found my niche so thank you!
THAT INTRO THOUGH
Can you make a video on how you edit "street photos".
Dude you are awesome. I absolutely love your videos and as a beginner learning photography, I learn so much from them. Thank you for all the amazing content you share.
Pete! You are most definitely doing the things out here! Such a sick and inspiring video and BOOOOOI that BRoll!!
2k19 dec anyone.. like here.... Gonna make profile like you... Really inspired sir!!!!
Love kickin around Toronto and one day I will spot the PMK
I think I've never mentioned this but Peter, I just love the way you talk!! :,D You often use such random vocabulary and express yourself with so many different interesting adjectives..it's just fun to listen to you talking👊
You are a WHOLE GOAT my guy. The shot of the shoes was fire.
1:34 to 1:43- the most epic intro ever
ur lowkey a hypebeast
One of the best videos so far my guy ! Ya killed it 💯
I think this is the most dope intro I have ever seen since I look at your videos, NOOICE (and I've seen a lot since the pandemic)
sweet b roll!
This isn’t exactly “street photography” though Peter. This is more fashion photography, maybe even product photography.
Jesus!!! Your philosophy on photography is awesome... your work is amazing. I wish I could see my life through your camera lens. Feel like you could make anyone or anything appear way more amazing than it really is lol.
Congrats to 2M Pete! Been here since 300k.
The concept of street photography in this video is quite different from what I know. Still a great video and photos though.
I love you Peter, but I do have to point out that this isn’t quite street photography. Street photography is capturing candid moments of people and things in the street. No posing, models, etc... for example, Joel Meyerowitz, Helen Levitt and Gary Winogrand. just wanted to point that out so the great street photographers of the day get the recognition they deserve!
alec ilstrup right on! Not to mention Maria De Biasi was a great street photographer of his time taking candid shots in Italy
Peter you Have spread a lot of good advice in this video and I just wanted to thank you for that! You really make people better photographers. I have a shoot later and I can't wait now!
Congrats on hitting another milestone. Keep up the great content!
That introooo 🔥👌🏼
4:54 👀
I bought a canon camera for video.. I forget that it also takes pictures lol.
I only have my iphone...I wish I have a canon as well ;)
:)
ahaha
ME
So do I sometimes haha
I apologize for watching this video late... I mean because I always watch your video the day they come out. I’m so very glad you touched on this topic because I’m a nyc bound storyteller/photography/filmmaker and this is what my work is about I find it so cool others are understanding what this is most importantly every time I pic up my camera I’m just glad I can tell a story about who where why and what happened during this day.
Inspirational production value Peter, we can only hope that 1 day we'll get half as good as you at making these vids. Just awesome! Gareth&Zoe Wildcamps
