Nothing like sitting outside of my work in my car watching this video. Peter I hope you know, you’re the reason I got into photography and you’ve helped me through a lot.
Thank you! I appreciate it!!
That’s the most relatable comment 😂
Excellent story! Love bnw !
Lol, I just got off my lunch break and am doing the same thing 😂
@@IamPhant0m I pulled into work and I looked at my phone and was like thank god I got here early
I am a programmer and not a photographer, but still, I've got goosebumps watching this video because I want to go on a journey like this and experience the joy you get through photography.
Thanks for the video, Peter.
bro we literally living the same life😂😂
Sounds like a great life lesson; slow down, be intentional, make choices wisely! Cheers Pete!
Great to see you finding a new Mojo Pete!!
I've been doing street photograpy for over a year now and I honestly it feels exactly like you mentioned. The excitement and confidence you need. The eye to catch that one moment. The stroies and ofcourse all the people. It is such a beautiful and fulfiling form of art. I want to continue and grow and hopefully bring more stories of ordinary people on the streets to light.
Pete, I’ve been following you for years and you’ve been such an inspiration. I’ve been shooting photography for 15 years now and at times have lost the spark. Videos like this one pump me back up so much!
You inspire many my brother. Many thanks owed to you. 🙏
Peter, this is probably my favorite video from you. It's real and honest and it actually made me blow the dust off a 1950's 35mm Leica I had sitting doing nothing. I share your excitement in shooting film. Thank you.
Pete, your enthusiasm and professionalism shines through every time. The honesty, the uncertainty are compelling and make your experiences so relatable. Keep pushing on, excited to see where this journey takes you.
i’m so thrilled for the new era of Peter’s videos. i absolutely love the new style and the new office
Pete discovers snap photography. This is like a lambo driver discovering the bicycle.
Loving these black and whites and the natural film grain on it... and that shot of the Eiffel Tower was just splendid! 🖤🤍
Gotta say, Pete -- I've really been loving these film videos. They're truly my favorite videos you've posted in a long time. I also jumped back in -- all in -- to film about 5 months ago, and you so accurately describe what it feels like, and to see this kind of excitement from someone with such an immense body of work like your own is refreshing. The intention and the anticipation is everything, and makes the craft of making a photograph so much more enjoyable.
Pete! I can't even begin to tell you how pumped I am that you're diving back into film. So stoked.
Good for you Peter. The excitement you're feeling is genuinely palpable through the screen. Really happy for you! Can't wait to see more!
Definitely cracked a smile. Thanks Pete. Such an inspiration. You are such a bright light. Never let anyone or anything dim that. Hope you have a wonderful day man 😁
Fantastic Peter... you said we would be seeing less of you but the quality of your videos would go up and you are delivering on the promise. Super engaging videos lately.
Hey Pete! I watched 1 video of yours a year ago. Felt your passion and instantly got inspired. I got camera gear and started shooting. Definitely struggled to capture a solid photo but continued to shoot and follow your journey. Thank you for giving me a new adventure!
Shooting film has given you a new medium for creative and evocative expression. Peter, your film photography has a nostalgic feel that resonates with a different time and place. Beautiful timeless travel imagery.
This channel gets better and better😏 But Pete, you push to be better, and that alone is going to propel you further in this art and in this life🥰
Nothing hits like just sitting back and hearing pete talk, the music, the content, the love for the medium...it all hits different!
Oh man, this video is so good! I’m so excited to see this growth in your work, though it’s just a little unfair your first roll was so good! I remember watching your original street photography video. This one is exactly what I wanted to see back then.
I love that I got into film photography around the same time. Feels like I’m learning with Pete and I love the community 😁
These last two videos have been truly inspirational! Thanks, PM.
That Big Pilot is looking 🔥
Awesome video Pete! It's inspiring to see evening the biggest creators on the platform still growing and evolving their skill sets .
Peter, you got me into photography when I was getting interested in videography. I made the decision to jump to film about two years ago and I’m just getting started. Seeing you rediscovering film right as I am is pretty cool. Gives me more film CZcams content I thirst for.
Im starting photography, actually took my first ones today and your channel is the reason im starting! Keep up the amazing stuff man
Film reignited my passion for photography for ALL the reasons you touched on here!
• value each picture more
• learn from mistakes (some out of your control)
• look at the world differently
I recently bought a Olympus OM10. And I’m loving the experience of film photography. All the points you have mentioned Peter, I agree with 100%. Shooting film makes me more excited than digital
Good stuff PM...after 3 decades, I share your "still learning" spark. Its what keeps us engaged. Have a great weekend my friend...
I've been following you since 2019 and still get toutched by your work. Man, you are an inspiration for me. Keep going
Almost makes we want to try film again. Brings back so many good memories. There was something special about having to wait for your photos to be processed.
i like how you keep walking out of you confort zone and wanting to constantly learn... that's my mindset too but seeing you succeed in that is a huge push for me
thank you buddy
This is so cool. Love the feel you're getting. I'm old enough to remember real film situations... thank you for telling this story.
love the struggle and the richness of the transition to this years pete!
I feel like your in such harmony with life in this exciting chapter of your life! Love the content!
I'm not even a photographer but I really really appreciate the medium of film. There's something about it
It's better than digital
You are the real goat!
this video on itself, feels like it was shot on film, it is raw, direct raw conversation, storytelling 10 minutes about something so natural for this kind of art
Black and white photography is the heart of photography. I am a bnw photographer.
So so hyped you found back to film photography!! Love it, keep up the great work Peter :D
Thanks for this. Appreciate the focus on the experience of using film over the gear.
Highly appreciate your videos. Not a fan of shooting film myself, but I enjoy seeing your new passion for it.
Gina Payne from Van Life With Gina sent us your way! Said you are an inspiration!! 1st time seeing a video & she speaks truth 👍👍
Sending Aloha from Kauai, Hawaii
This is growth and I’m so glad I am here for this journey. It’s amazing to see you not settle for your past niches and to push into another medium and discover the world again
Glad you're now into film photography! Keep it coming! 👍
Absolutely loved the ambient music in this!
I love this new style of videos so much more! And photos are amazing
Thank you for all you do! You’re videos have helped and inspired me as I have grown my photography business!
Thank you for the intro! Def made me smile. Great video as always
Been wanting a new vid! Thanks for supplying it, oh and on one of my favorite kinds of photography LETS GOOOO.
Realy inspiring approach to photography and a great way to slow down, when you go out to shoot.
I totally agree with the point that Paris helps a lot with the contextualization of these B&W and I would love to see you rockin this camera in a city like Toronto. I'm pretty sure you would be able to capture amazing moments as well!!
Best vlog for so long time. Happy to see street insights from you man
Good to see you doing videos on film photography! Great work
Film photography can take you down so many interesting paths. You can get deep in to developing your own color and black and white film, trying caffenol, darkroom printing, alternative printing processes. Large format film, tintypes... the list goes on.
i was struggling with a creatively block, trying to edit a film i’ve been working on for so long.. i was so overwhelmed with music, sfx, color grading fancy speed ramping transitions.. i was taking a break and noticed this video in my notifications i said why not clear my mind.. and this video was therapy for me.. it’s not about photography or film or exposure. it’s the fact that the video is soooo relaxing , not thinking about anything just peter talking about how he experienced the very first form of photography after years of shooting digital. it shows how he matured into the artist he is today and that’s really really inspiring seeing him go from the guy vlogging in an airport with a 1dx ii to someone who simply uses a small camera and 3 rolls of film and makes a whole video talking about how he feels towards his new hobby, far far away from the technical stuff, composition…
I hope your being a new champion of film, slowing down, and even street photography brings in a new era of film shooters. Your work in Paris is amazing and you def showed the greatness of HP5.
"Keep learning the craft that is photography."
So. Much. This. I've immersed myself in what I consider to be the top in their genre. (PM included 😁) and I've just been watching, and taking images of my own to practice the LR/PS techniques, trying to make them somehow my own. Been working on my compositions too. Making them tell more of a story. Making them breathe with life, I am developing (hehe) a new type of relationship with my subjects. (none of which, speak)
Youve upped the game in 2023, man. Your work is maturing. Your style is evolving. I for one, love it. It's massively inspiring to folks like me, to see someone of Peter McKinnon's caliber can still be learning. Thanks, man. I appreciate you.
Wow that intro got me nostalgic big time Pete - love you dude!
That did in fact, make me crack a smile.
Been here since the beginning.
Still here...
Will always be here.
Thankyou Peter, you inspired me alot, been doing videos ever since, learned alot from your work, keep on doing what you're doing❤
Awesome to see you find a new inspiration in photography with film. Great photos & epic story telling as usual 🤙🏼
These kinds of videos are the reason why I'm your subscriber! Thanks.
it's amazing to watch how u evolve as a a photographer
Man, what a great video. Because of you I take my camera everywhere! Love the recent content on film photography, those captures are something else 👊🏾
Dude, seeing you saying “P-Whatsup” with log hair again just gives me such great throwbacks to the old days. Keep it up man!!!
Bloody love watching this, I’ve also gone to film watching others learn at the same time is so helpful thanks Pete for being an inspiration to us all. ❤
Great opener Pete!

That’s a heart to heart conversation! ❤️
film , a medium that still has the excitement we get when we get the perfect shot in digital or in this case all the 36 exposures are focused and exposed proper , film is a medium that helps us slow down... quite .... literally . Thanx pete for the reminder amazing photos cant wait for the photos on Instagram
😍
I love this video!! What a beautiful way to showcase film photography and all that it can do. Peter McKinnon, you don’t miss my friend lol
Can't wait to see more!
I love this dive into film please keep it up man. Long time fan ❤
I had the same experience Pete. I was shooting 72 pictures while in Split, Croatia and I am loving every single one of it meaning I would share them with the world!
It cracked a smile. Nice vid Pete, love it.
I hate this video's vibe. It pulls up my insecurities, anxieties, sorrow, old memories. I don't know why. This vibe took me into long past times🥺❤️
So interesting following this chapter of your journey!
Love it! We never stop learning
Absolutely great peter 👊🏾🔥
What a video, truly love it. So inspiring!
Always keep learning! 🙌
Fantastic. This makes me want to shoot more film. Keep on keepin’ on man.
I love shooting film. It takes patience and practice. And on those light leaks you had in a few photos were the exact definition of a beautiful mistake.
Keep cranking them out Pete👌 Thanks for sharing mate.
Love your work man
I love seeing people getting into film photography. It is what reignited the flame for me after years and years od shooting digital. I’m looking forward to more film content from you Peter :)

Thank you for the video, I'm 54 years old and there is nothing else better than learning Photography with film.
I agree, you tend to put more thought in each picture. Love BW
For anyone else just starting to get into film try the light meter app on your on your phone. It very quickly helped train my brain on the appropriate settings for each shot and probably rescued a lot of images I would’ve otherwise messed up
Love Paris. Great vid, Peter.
Watched this on my lunch break at work. Hoping to try out a film camera on my next vacation. Thank you for this video.
Thanks for sharing your journey, it's very interesting to see a different style! I like those pictures very much!
Really cool portrait of your friend.
I so relate, Peter. I’ve been shooting for 40 years, and EVERY SINGLE night I go to sleep, I’m thinking about what I want to shoot next. It’s the best passion in the world. And cars. Love cars.
Your emotion in this video is wonderful
Genius street work, mang!
I am resonating with your videos so much more now then ever before. It sucks that it’s not as frequent but I understand why now. Quality over quantity, this was perfect! Thank you for what you do Pete !
BIG SMILE! Love this.
Photography is truly one of those crafts that you can never get tired of.
This was so beautiful!
Been following you before 100k subs and I gotta say, this is some of my favorite shots Ive seen from you and would love to see more 🤘🏽
