I’d say build a home before you’re old and unable. If you wanna go back to your country later in old age then slowly build a house. Ofcourse a small cottage is good for when you’re on vacation. There’s disadvantages but your walls will never rot. The mistake is when you’re old or you become sick or an accident happens and you don’t have a place to live in. Abroad is home but home is home.

U can still upgrade the place and still make it so to me uts not really a mistake as such. U just have to come up with somethg better to improve on what is there and after that u will release that its not really a mistake as such coz u needed all these as such to keep ur plot safe and also work overseer when ur not worried about the insecurity of land in our country. Your forefathers before you built their mansions, why not you. If you want to build for investment purposes then great, build apartments and rent out. But remember this land is ours, given to us by the creator, so build your mansions people and enjoy it.

The current mini house is the BQ....boys quarters. His plan had been to build a bigger main house in the front of that mini house, towards the front. You have to be an African to understand this. We build a mini house in the back for staff, then your main house is in the front. At least, that was his plan before. He is now saying he made a mistake and that since he doesn't really plan to live there full time, he should just have built a multi-storey building of apartments.
I found the gate lovely and it’s better to not use all your land on a house. He has room for growing fruit trees and vegetables (free food). With a garden the home will be lovely.
