Hello Denis, its more of a blessing than a mistake in my opinion coz that house has helepd you to keep this land until now that u have got a better ldea. U can still upgrade the place and still make it so to me uts not really a mistake as such. U just have to come up with somethg better to improve on what is there and after that u will release that its not really a mistake as such coz u needed all these as such to keep ur plot safe and also work overseer when ur not worried about the insecurity of land in our country. Now that the strength is still there to build, build. I’m telling you, you won’t have that strength again in later years. Houses appreciate & are main assets. You’re living in a borrowed land.

I’d say build a home before you’re old and unable. If you wanna go back to your country later in old age then slowly build a house. Ofcourse a small cottage is good for when you’re on vacation. There’s disadvantages but your walls will never rot. The mistake is when you’re old or you become sick or an accident happens and you don’t have a place to live in. Abroad is home but home is home.

This is not wasted, you did well. You can still airbnb when you build a house. Alot of families prefer a house vs apartments.

Sincerely post other things about Uganda. There are too many videos about Kampala, and they show the same things. Gulu, Arua and Soroti cities are much more interesting. Atleast you should give pressure to the Ugandan government, so they improve the main city!
