In addition, though it's harsh, by making single parenthood undesirable (single motherhood especially), people are further discouraged from being so frivolous. If you know you'll be devalued and face hardship, you're far more likely to avoid that course of action. Women in particular are vulnerable to social pressure, hence why the current "Do whatever you want, queen, slay!" propaganda is causing women to compete with one another on who can be the most vile example of why we need the fucking Second Coming. So if they know they'll be scorned and outcast, they will be far more likely to behave morally even when their urges tell them otherwise.

She has a point, though. I may disagree about waiting until fully married, but if its a person you can not see yourself raising a child with, why risk it?
It's the intention that matters, really. I think it's okay to have sex before marriage if - and only if - you are both determined to stay together for life. Because then, even if you accidentally have a child before you want to, you can just marry and everything is alright. If you don't accidentally have a child and break up later, that's okay (though not ideal) as well, no real harm done.
But it's absolutely wrong to have sex with someone you know full-well you won't stay together with in the long term. Someone you know that you won't marry even if an "accident" happens and the woman gets pregnant. That's irresponsible behavior. And it's also morally wrong because you're putting a potential child at risk of growing up under very uncertain circumstances.
Because if you apply the avoidance of doings you want to do because of low probability, not even fatal risks, as a rule, you end up starving under a bridge?

There are some... interesting suppressed studies out there regarding people who are fast life history strategists (r-selected) compared to slow life history strategists (K-selected). Due to biological forces outside a kid's control (influenced by both environment AND genetics) they will grow up either r-selected or K-selected. Pippa is K-selected and has a world view consistent with those of that type.

That's utter rubbish. Humans are defined by their DNA to a very large degree. Even if we assume that genetics only define 50 % of a child while upbringing defines the other 50 % (which is generous), a stepchild can only ever be 50 % yours, while a biological child you raise yourself is 100 % yours. I'd say that, to be a true father, one has to be both the biological father AND the guy who raises the child. You can never be the father of a child that isn't biologically yours, and you're also not the true father of a child that is biologically yours but that you didn't raise. A child who isn't raised by their biological father is, effectively, fatherless.

The reason I wouldn't is because they frequently don't allow you to actually fulfill the duties of a father. I think, here in the States at least, a large portion of long term relationships are those of convenience/necessity. That's not to say there are no feelings at all but that many people would rather be with somebody than nobody. This is especially the case when it is drastically easier to live when you can share the burden with someone else. It gets way messier when you have children involved.

Pippa, bad actions need to have bad consequences. Yes, it's unfortunate for a child to be raised by a single parent. Of course it is. That's why having sex without marriage (or at least the serious intention to stay together long-term) is wrong. And yes, it's probably better for that individual child if some man marries its mother and raises it.
BUT if this happens regularly, it will lead to people not fearing being a single parent anymore. Women need to be terrified of the thought of being a single mom, because this prevents them from becoming exactly this. Back when no man would ever marry a single mom (with the exception of widows), pregnancies out of wedlock were the rare exception. Nowadays, they're commonplace, exactly BECAUSE it has become so normal and accepted to be a single parent and BECAUSE your life isn't ruined by it.
Essentially, what you're doing as a man who "steps up" and marries a single mom is rewarding and validating her previous (promiscuous and wrong) behavior. You might do that single child a favor, but you're not doing future children and society as a whole a favor. If all men collectively decided to shun single mothers again, the rate of children born out of wedlock would drop to next to zero within a generation.

I honestly don't understand the fixation on having sex only after marriage. I'm sure plenty of people have seen friends or family rush into marriage for sex only to not be ready to raise a kid at all. Personally, I saw that with my sister and one of my cousins. It's not really about sex before or after marriage, it's an issue of responsibility and seriously evaluating and understanding the consequences of your actions and if you are prepared to face them. Humans, male and female, like sex and want to have it, and there are ways to do that without having children. I do agree that it's probably not good to have it willy-nilly with a bunch of people though, but casual sex and relationship sex are not quite the same thing.
I think it's basically shorthand way of saying, find someone you can really trust and get into a serious long term committed relationship (ie. Marriage) before having a child or risking disease. But the problem is, as you say, some people rush into marriage for sex and not the actual purpose of marriage. I actually don't agree with the only have sex after marriage thing, but I think I understand why someone would say that.

My bible-beating father would have beat more than just the bible if he'd found out lol), but there was a certain value to people thinking they would be punished for all of eternity for not keeping important promises like that. Between taking things seriously and waiting until one's ready for a proper relationship, and having the will to stick with someone when things are hard rather than throwing the (maybe not so) proverbial baby out with the bath water, there's a lot that has been lost in that particular cultural shift.
