I don't remember much about this time in history from school but was this a very common thing to do during the Ottoman Empire to poison yourself to get out of a mess you put yourself in
In my memory, Ahmed is one of, if not the only sultan who sobbed bitterly at the death of his mother.

They were very passionate and death seemed the only way to true happiness and peace and away from the pain and fear of living in that palace. Tge one thing they could truly control.

Sometimes I kind of wish they didn’t prevent their older relatives. Let’s just put it that way like their aunts and mothers after of course their husbands pass away. To where they could not seek another relationship to live out the rest a lot of lies with something tell me a lot of the excess drama would dissipate if they would allow a lot of the women to actually have relationships. After the fact once their husband has passed the lifetime lied. These women are still young enough to bear children and it’s not their fault that, if they had husbands that were unlucky to be killed one way or the other but to still lock up women and they can’t go nowhere to seek other relations is kinda cruel because very rarely does a woman ever got remarried to somebody else unless they family has salt a new alliance that would benefit the family because I believe if they had another family a lot of the shenanigans would decrease

Да ну,Кесем по вашему не виновата?А кто же тогда,кто подставил Дервиша И хандан,зачем она заставляла её признаваться Ахмеду ,во всем да еще и говорила ,что это ей в наказание,в чем была вина Хандан ?Кесем подлая и злая ,все время грозит и на всех наезжает,все у ней провинились в чем то, ей только бандитами командовать,и всех убила в конце концов и друзей и врагов,даже кто ей помогал и был предан ,на ней креста нет,ни ког ей не жалко и в итоге Ахмед остался без сторонников и она за ним одна не уследила,так ей и надо,ненавижу ее.

There is indeed. There is venom from the horn vipers which in this quantity kills you in maximum 3 minutes. There also is scorpion poison which also in quantities kills you even in a few seconds. In the sultan times women were able to have this poison as self defence against ladies who may try to kill them.

Yes but Kosem isn't stupid, she knows that if Dervish was to commit a crime certainly someone must have been involved with him especially someone within the sultan's family. She knows that once Dervish secret is out, Handan secret will also eventually come out.

she did not, she died of health issues related to stress little after ahmed took the throne.

Unfortunately, the historical reality is that Kosem was executed. A lot of the rest of this series is not historically accurate. That probably includes the suicide of Handan Sultana.
