    Guys, I always have my hands on the wheel and feet ready to react to a situation. If you watch many of the top CZcamsrs doing v12 videos, most are completely hands-free and their feet are nowhere near the pedals. Would you say this is safer? No

    • @ChrisTorrella

      v12 does not react to the scroll wheels anymore. This is pointless.

    If you are conscious after an accident and our arms aren't broken, make sure to reach over and remove any gadget you install on your Tesla that changes your warning system. Insurance companies and tesla does look at stuff like this to protect themselves. And hopefully a "fault" has not been created to that indicates tampering.

    Yep, it works until Tesla puts out an update. Wouldn't take much to remove the convenience of a scroll wheel used with autopilot.

    • @BCTeslaGuy
      @BCTeslaGuy  Před 2 měsíci +4

      I agree. Wish they would use the camera more to know you are paying attention. The constant moving of the steering or scrolling takes away from you, focusing your attention on what's happening around you. No matter what they do, there will be an idiot out there sleeping or doing what they shouldn't.

      They have already done this .. as they should. Nag eliminators are stupid and dangerous, both for the occupants of the car and occupants of nearly cars. DONT USE THEM. If you cant nudge the steering wheel from time to time you shouldn't be driving at all, let alone using autopilot.

      It's my understanding that scroll wheels o not stop the nag in v12. Such a shame ... everytime I've gotten in trouble it's because of holding the wheel too tightly to avoid nag and then FSD disenguages without me realizing. It's happened many times. I'm paying attention! My eyes should be on the road not the screen to see the nag warnings ... even the beep gets lost among other noises.

    I like it. I wish Tesla would get there . I’m sure they will. The nags have gotten really bad so if you happen to look over at your wife and say something when she screaming and nagging at you, you can’t do it for very long. You have to look back at the road because Tesla is also nagging at you and then she gets more mad at you and starts hitting you and then you crash so the nag is really, causing a lot of accidents. ……..
    Total joke for lefty’s in case you didn’t catch that.

      This still works with the 12.3.4. It’s so nice to just have your hands on the wheel not have to worry it stutter constantly happening. Now if they could just get rid of the phantom breaking, which seemed to come back with version 12.3 on the highway, driving around town works great except for the acceleration of the stoplights. Thanks for watching my video and I enjoyed reading your comment.

    This makes everyone on the road less safe. The nag is there for a reason. Things like this are the reason that NHTSA keeps tightening the rules for Tesla and neutering the car. Selling a product like this is a scumbag move.

    • @BCTeslaGuy
      @BCTeslaGuy  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Could you explain how moving the steering wheel or scroll wheel affects safety? The camera watches you to ensure you are paying attention and not using your phone. Moving the wheel doesn't mean you are paying attention to the road at all. I could twitch the wheel and pay no attention and get no nags. Tesla's ultimate goal is to have the car drive by itself with/without a driver. My point in the video is this device allows me to focus on the road and not be worried I'm not moving the wheel just to not get the nag warning. thanks for watching

    • @C_G1443
      @C_G1443 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@BCTeslaGuy So Tesla and NHTSA are wrong? Are you seriously asking how not holding the wheel affects safety? The technology is not at the point where you can safely drive with your hands off the wheel. If it was there would be no nag. This is a defeat device for a safety feature. I use FSDb and would never use one of these.

    • @BCTeslaGuy
      @BCTeslaGuy  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I clearly stated several times in the video that I always hold the steering wheel and have my feet ready to react to a situation. Yes, someone is going to use this inappropriately, but not me. The driver is 100% responsible while driving. I'm sure NHTSA & Tesla say moving the steering wheel will avert an accident. They are using this to know if you are awake or not in distress. They both state you should/must keep your hands on the wheel, which I agree with completely. Thanks for the clarification.

    This is genius. I’d say use it until Tesla makes it impossible. Sure the nags are there for a reason but other companies just use the eye tracking and that should be enough. You shouldn’t need to have both. Will definitely bring purchasing this for my Tesla asap. This wouldn’t affect safety at all because you’re still supposed to pay attention anyways.

    • @BCTeslaGuy
      @BCTeslaGuy  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I agree. The nags only serve the purpose of knowing you are still awake, etc. The seat has sensors to know if you are sitting in the seat, and the camera watches to see that you are paying attention and not distracted. I wish they relied more on the camera to know that you are looking around, paying attention to your surroundings. Moving the steering wheel or scrolling the button every 5-30 seconds doesn't have anything to do with safety or you averting an accident if you are truely paying attention. You are should still have your hands on the steering wheel, feet ready to react to a situation and constantly scanning your surrounding for potential safety concerns. thanks for watching

    • @C_G1443
      @C_G1443 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Great, you're paying attention with your eyes... your hands are still supposed to be on the wheel. Of course it affect safety. Tesla requires this and puts the liability on the driver for a reason... the technology is not at the point where it can be hands-off yet. If you use it as intended the nag really isn't bad.

    • @BCTeslaGuy
      @BCTeslaGuy  Před 2 měsíci +1

      As mentioned in the video, I always keep my hands on the wheel and my feet ready to react to a situation. I agree I'm 100% responsible while behind the wheel. But this doesn't mean I would be held responsible for an accident if someone were to run into me, and they are responsible for the accident. Thanks for watching.

      @C_G1443 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @BCTeslaGuy That's good that you do, but most people using it won't. It's a safety defeat device and will be abused. if you get in an accident and they find out you were using this device or driving without hands you can definitely be sued no matter who is at fault.
