#construction #homebuilding #building - Jak na to + styl
The more you work, the bigger this home looks. I love the details, and the craftsmanship is top notch. Great job Matt.
It’s really coming together Matt! I am learning so much from your series!
Fascinating, fascinating, fascinating. Yes. Thank you for making these videos.
Always nice waking up to a new video !
Lookin good
Love the zip system!!
Great Job 👍👍👍🤗
Love the Hershey S'more add.
@ Matt the zip roof shething I always throw a couple nails on factory edge to factory edge just so that lip doesn't overlap. Learned the hard way more than once 8 nails in a sheet and you notice its overlapped on the seam. Zip is a little more expensive but it "seals up a house" nice a quick with taping the seams.
Fantastic
The team work between you and fox is so good to watch
i hope that both of you are working together at future builds
Hay Matt and fox 🦊 and boys great job guys 👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎👌👌👌🤙🤙🤙🤙
learn so much from you. Thanks for taking the time to share all your great content and knowledge.
🇲🇽 hey Matt.I enjoy watching. all your videos. Excellent explanation also say hello to the best framing crew you guys are the best👍
Old school drill lol... My dad and I used to use a twist hand drill, no motor, we was the motor. That is old school.
“We was the motor.” 😂🙏
I SAW IT! Looking good bruh! 🤘
Kickass work
Nice work again
That jib on the lull is sick! Could've used that quite a few times for the xtra reach
I saw it! And I agree!
Bang Bros. strike again 😜
This hits different..
Wat's up Matt!! Carpenter here, from Montreal,Canada. Love your video's man be safe
2:33 😂
pssshhh!!! what are you doing here? this is not your world! go back to putting baseboards ahah just kidding man
The best only watch the best
"whats your point. its on your head"
Auger bits are deadly in drills without a clutch!!
When you let go of that drill handle I said "WATCH IT MATT! WATCH IT MATT!" 😂
Hahaha, I knew it.
Those knife plate connections are cool as shit!- awesome work guys!
I saw it! 👌🏼
Man, compared to the typical 20th century home, built on 2x4s, 2x6 floor joists, and maybe 1 LVL across the main span, with few to no steel connections, this thing is built like a tank. I'm even more amazed that you have this sturdy of a first floor on a house with no second floor....it has no load to carry besides the roof.
Bang on!👍👍👍👍👍👨🏻🚒🇺🇸
I saw it. 👍
Kick ass
"I saw it" 🤘
I remember when just having OSB sheathing was an upgrade from that petty particle board sheathing in its early days..
YOU GUYS ROCK IT! Great to see a team meld together. Fox gets it on. He's got 'giddie up'. But that old guy, come on. His grumble and mumble would drive me banananananas!
Are those laminated posts or solid wood milled posts? They look beautiful.
why aint dad wearing his hardhat Matt!?!? Get him Matt!!
He’s never been one to abide by the rules... 🤷♂️
@@MattBangsWood sounds like my pops!
I've seen zip walls on a few jobs and they all tape the seams. Do you tape the seams on the roof as well?
Can't believe I saw Matt Bang Steel... Traitor haha
If nobody pops a nail through the T&G soffits...it's a good day.
I can’t agree more Ray!
For the transition to the T&G overhang is it nailed on top of the rafters so the sheathing has to curve up?
I thought that but I think it’s only on the tails which are set lower....but what do I know I’m in the uk!
Keep on BANGING matt!!! all ure sh××rt is super double triple OG in the hood!!! + the old guy reminds me of Tim the tool man Taylor ....Home improvement show..LOL
Man you need to get a longer bit and the cordless Milwaukee high torque drill. I use mine to do similar in barn builds.
I need more video from you..
Lol I see that coming soon as you took your hand off that drill
I'm not a builder but I love to watch.I do finish exterior work. You guys build some beautiful homes bro! Plus I learn from just about all you videos. Keep em comming.
Just noticed that the zip system doesn't have the reflective backing of the OSB you've used on other projects, so I assume other measures will be taken to help insulate?
Our climate here in Queensland Australia is kinda similar (a bit more hot and humid, so perhaps Florida is a better comparison) and we suck at building energy efficient homes. Gaps everywhere and roof tiles plonked straight on trusses.
Aye
What type of finish are you using on back deck? Is it a zip product?
I saw it
I’m curious to know if the interior has a lot of pick up work ?
i find it interesting that the owners went with the zip sheeting on the roof but not the walls too.
Wasn’t their choice, i made that change, they just approved of it.
Wish I’d done the walls too!
MattBangsWood ah, i mean technically its not too late,
i saw it
How’d it come out? I’m pretty happy with it!
Skill actually makes a worm drive chain saw that has worked beautifully for T post brackets that install similarly.
Have you used yours for them? I tried to get mine to work and just couldn't get the thing dialed in clean enough to do it.. I wish it would have worked, but it splintered so poorly..
@@MattBangsWood True you cant trust it to be square , have to finesse its and flip post over a few times as i recall. also the plates were aluminum and thicker so it was worth the trouble.
@@MattBangsWood I think the folks that sell the T-rex connector recommend an electric chain saw on a custom jig they sell
how are those post connected to sill? a35"?
10:00 is there no hammer action on them?
The knife blade bolt holes look a bet crooked. Is that okay?
Where are the fancy washers from??
The biggest beam i put in to my House is a 34 footer.
feel sorry for that old drill drilling the massive post holes
Hey Matt, what kind of gopro are you using these days??
GoPro Hero 9 - Canon 90D for all main shots.
@@MattBangsWood the newest gopro 9 and it must be little bit more money for the newest ones then, Matt
I'd love to know roughly how much this house is going to cost finally. Plus it would be great to have a walk around just before hand over to the clients.
Ideally it would be built for around $400/ft, making this place around $2M-3M depending on the budget.
@@MattBangsWood That $400/sq ft would be to final finish?
I live in the UK, most our new builds are simple brick construction, but the cost per sq ft is about $150 and that's to final finish, ready to move in.
1st comment hell yeah 🤘
what is with the soft-core cinemax music at the 13:00 mark
Hi Matt I’m building a pavilion for outdoor chicken Where did you get the metal brackets ,washers and screws great videos thanks in advance
the post beam was all cracked, you got to inspect your lumber, i would have sent it back
Can’t send back everything. Shortage of lumber as is, we sent back a few, but had to work with what we had.
Superb, give me a job 🍺🍺
Local? Let’s get it!
@@MattBangsWood wish I was Matt, im in England UK
AT 1515 looks like your socks are mismatched. Funny.
They are! Never been the most organized.
“I saw it”
Why don’t you have a plate on the Ridge Beam?
Ib thought h clips were for non tongue and groove...
What the heck is holding that roof up?
Hopes dreams and MattBangsWood secret sauce.
I heard the zip system isn’t proven
Your still supposed to use hclips 5/8 sheathing expands and contracts like any sheathing if not more
@10:24 That hardware looks tacky. I'd have to have it painted black.
The cost of 5/8 isn't worth the small inconvenience of clips. Also zip is osb just has embedded facing on it. Also the time you have take to tape and seal the fasteners make it a no go. Quality house wrap installed correctly is way better
All of our homes are spec’d for 5/8”, so 1/2” isn’t really an option anywho.
@@MattBangsWood why 5/8 you have no snow loads or anything like that. We use 1/2 and 7/16" here in Mi and have up to 60# snow loads requirements.
@@kevinobrien1933 heavy clay tile roof.
don,t wanna know what the price of this house will be. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Concrete around here is not that good.
All the commercials????? Dang everyone selling out now days.
Commercials on what? On the actual video? CZcams controls where those go for the most part.. Just how they want to do it.
i saw it
