I love that foot trick with the paddle bit! Go in halfway, pull up, lock your foot under and continue the hole. Awesome.
Thoughts on the new video quality? Brand new set up, and I’m excited to say that ALL content is now in [4K].
Who’s ready to watch Fox nail shear again? This build is going to be a fun one.
BANG ON... B A N G O N !
Now I need to upgrade my 3 monitors to 27" 4K... Just got to find a way to sell it to the wife to allow me to make the purchase :)
The 🦊man is definitely one fast nailer for sure! Glad too hear he quit smoking butts... I smoke a pack a day...terrible habit someday I'll give it up. Bang on Brother 🤘
Stoked that my name suggestion made the cut! Bang on!!!
Man, I thought about it.. and it just screamed “TV show” - “The Ridge” and I ran with it..
Thank you!
Video quality is good, but your talking audio needs to go up like 3-5dB
The new and improved smokeless Fox - I didn’t recognize him at first without a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Looks like a great build series. Thanks for sharing!
I thank the owner to allow you to make the awesome videos. You do not know how much I love to watch them. Thank you all so much! Greetings from the Netherlands
Matt's style of presentation is COOL and he makes even the toughest job sound EASY...with the addition of 4K you brought the video to life Matt...real BANG ON WAY TO GO....All the best...keep posting and you sure are on the way to a construction SUPER STAR of CZcams....love from New Zealand....
Could you do a video on everybody’s tool belt that would be kinda cool
I will do this here!
Totally Agree with that!
Yess
Agreed
i always put a shim behind those ledgers to space it off the concrete a little so any water that gets behind there doesnt sit on the timber and allows it to dry out better.
Could flashing be applied after the ledger goes on? To divert water from getting behind?
Won't the water rot out the shim
@@floorrez308 galvanised washer?
Stoked to see The Fox Man on the job. All best.
Thank you Matt for sharing all of this love your work ethic and your delivery. Bang on.
I'm in southern alberta canada, really different seeing builds with no basements. Basements are the norm here. Im a sparky not a carpenter but your vids are always cool to see and learn stuff, stay healthy and keep up the good work!
About to watch this series again from the beginning, so much info you give it's outstanding, a lot to learn , thanks for making this videos and always giving us your tips and tricks, a lot guys don't do this bc their afraid to give away their skills, like you said tho, they're probably not that good ,, lol , great job
Great work Matt, some of the comments crack me up! Those who know what they're talking about know your a true pro. Looking forward to seeing this one come together.
Good to have you back Fox.
Great video quality, looking forward to this build series!
i just finished a 8x8 deck and roof for a neighbor, i feel so good and proud after i finish a job and just look at it and thank god for the knowledge he gives us 🤙
Welcome back matt and fox.loving you content.,all the way from nz
This looks like a nice build Matt, good to see Fox back
Not sure if you're doing this at a later date, but consider putting either a cheap foam or upgrade to a rubber gasket under all the sill plates for a better air seal. Even if you're spray foaming the inside. Cheap add on to help ensure airtightness. Even better add a bead of caulk as well.
See you got all new bags and all new makita tools awesome keep doing it
You make building houses look fun!!😄
Welcome Back!
Fox is back too!
Hope you and your family are staying safe!
Welcome back Fox ! That’s going to be an awesome house !
Awesome Fox kicked the smokes! Congrats!
Nice one Matt, great video 🦊
He makes very professional videos that are also great. Wishing you lots of health and happiness
I love these build series...bang on Matt!
Yessss i am so hype!!!! Fox is back yessir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m from Brazil and here our predominant construction is in blocks and concrete, I’m living in south of Brazil and now any company’s starting this model in wood frame and steel freme, your channel is amazing great job buddy!
Great to see fox again, and good for him on being 3 months clean
Love the new project and outstanding work putting the vid together. Congrats to fox on quitting, now we got to work on your pops!

Well done fox no easy thing to quit. Stoked is the word.
perfection in building 🔥
I like your videos as much as the Larry Haun videos. Plus I appreciate the fact that you work also. There are so many posers out there ! I also appreciate your honesty in making a mistake, We all have. Keep up the good work!
Beautiful.
Nice work, clean and fast ! Everyone on his task !
Write you from Puerto Rico.
Only thing I dislike about coming to new channels I’ve discovered is when I actually check it out, I see the dislikes…………. What’s to dislike about the video they’re working hard and dropping knowledge on us at the same time. Great work fellas appreciate the content.
I love the new Makita saw, just got one. Basically you get the saw free when you buy the batteries.
Fox is the man !!! glad he came back!
Those Makita Blowers are AWESOME for clearing crap when you're (framing) on the jobsite!
That Fox is hilarious :D greetings from Finland
Glad that fox is back tell him to get his board out on that slab! Good video Matt
New subscriber! Your channel is great thanks for dropping some knowledge in the video too!
Damn I haven't watched in a while and almost at 100k!!! Congrats
In the UK we would have used damp proof membrane under the timber. Anyhow great work. Look forward to future updates
Love it.
I said it before but for real now it’s time for some MBW hard hat stickers I know I need a couple
KILLER Notforhire I’m sorry that’s how you feel fella
Nice work for the first Day
Always love the videos. Having watched all of those plating videos, i feel like I could help -- maybe...
Great content
18:57 savage. :D
Hi Mat..i love u channel..waiting for next episod ~ the ridge
I love how Fox blows off the foundation under the plate while homie just lays and slays!
It's crazy the difference in the way some body learns a trade based on the different variables of that trade so I'm a journeyman framer that learned and now perfects productivity dominate framing like multi family housing and "cookie cutter" houses so to see you detailing and actually measuring your green plate instead of placing, squaring then cutting is a trip to me I do hope to get into a more slower pace like this as I get older
Austin, there is an awful lot of contractors banging cookie cutters as quick as they can.. At the end of the day, if you can pull $3,000 profit off a 1,400SF banger in no time at all. It's still the same as pocketing $30,000 taking 10x longer on a custom home. Only difference is one crew is burning themselves out, while the other cruises along. By no means are we a 'production' crew, quite the opposite.
The winery we built was within an 1/8" at all corners w/ 18' studs, I take pride in knowing that.
Your right on that I'm definitely running on E I've done commerical work hospitals, schools but it just never keep me busy I gus in the central valley the need for housing has gave me some pretty good years financially but I don't got the energy to spend it lol hope yall stay safe and keep that craftsman mind state alive
Find your spot, or create your own spot man.. The non-stop grind of go go go is not a good one, you'll burn out!
We've done some commercial work, shits always fun, but man.. It's tiring.
Fox is back!
Hate working with ground contact soooooo heavy and wet lol like to bind up blade to
Crazy how far this channel has grown! We miss fox 🦊
nice
@MattBangsWood why no rubber or foam gasket under the sill?
I just subscribed! I’m in the club 😃
Its nice
hi friend how're you, it was very good video yes
Nice! I like this build already. Pretty cool to see something different! I think this is the first I’ve ever seen you do those ledgers on the concrete. Is it a wrap around deck?
Hey MattBangWoods it would have been very awesome and yoy would have gotten a ton of views if your first video was of squaring the entire house and snaping all the outter layout.
Dang was just looking at those red paddle bits today. Seeing those holes I regret not buying them
We gotta wear hardhats regardless of the size or type of job. 1 guy only a few weeks ago had a nail ricochet off his hat. Doesnt always protect from things falling
Nice to see someone take time to blow off the crap before placing the wood down. Well done Fox 👍🏻
He’s good about cleanliness! In all honesty though, the plates get pulled, walls framed, sill gasket installed, concrete cleaned off and then walls stood.
It gets done later on.
MattBangsWood Thanks for clarifying that point ~ I think it was my OCD kicking in lol ~ enjoying the build so far.
Red and green turtle hats. Xmas over here.
How do you determine where all the bolts go for the bottom plate. Can you show how that is done, like you have done for laying out the stud locations
Cooooool
Welcome back Fox and congrats on the no smoking time. Why the hard hats Matt when you are working on the slab? I don't think I have seen you wearing them very much in any of your builds.I thought the you usually put some sort of material between the slab and the sill plate?
do you use any kind of insulation/foam between the plates and the concrete foundation?
Hilti spade drill for the win.
Esperando vc postar mais vídeos desse novo projeto. Say Hi to Brazilian subscribers 🇧🇷 BANG ON
Great presentation technique, better than TOH bc we just want to see how construction goes down without too much yakity yak that most YTers don't utilize. Brief explanations and terminology- perfect! It's interesting to be able to watch and learn the step by step process in building a structure.
I appreciate this.
No sill sealer? I would think that would be required for all sills
They are in California it's whole different way of building what might be code where you are may not be code there
I asked the same thing.... I'm in MA and we have to use it
I'm from ct and we also had to use it also but don't you think if they had to put sill seal down don't you think that they would have put it...so as I was saying what might be code in the north east may not be code in california
Also we don't build slab-on-grade like they are
@@jameskemp1977 I get what youre saying code is different in every state I was wondering more along the lines of why they dont use it. And the reason we dont build on slab here in North east is because of the necessity to get below the frost line with the foundation
Do you ever install a sill seal under the plate?
Hay good job boys from mad max 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎🤙🤙🤙👌👌👌
Hey Matt how do you figure out the angled cuts on the mudsil?
Do a close up on what yu keep in your tool belt at all times. I know you made one before but it was hard to really see. So it would be cool to see a close up video of what's in it
Is that 'board formed' concrete going to stay as a final finish? Looks like the concrete guys did a gr8 job.
Good video, a doubt did not put a membrane between the base radier and the wood ?? ........
Hey mat what’s better makita or cordless skill saw. Which one cuts best and feels smoother?
how did you find the angles to cut for the bottom plate and the ledger when it wasn't a simple 90 degrees?
On the actual wall framing, taking and connecting the long point to the short point on inside and out will give you your degree. I’ll show it in next episode for you! It’s easy once you’ve got the method.
Please show us how to cut angles please!!!!
No sill seal between the pt and foundation?
Hey Matt,
Why isn't there anything between the concrete and the plating? I know the boards are pressure treated, but still.
Kind regards.
You’ve go me beat on that Matt. I just compensate with a goatee.
Fox has it going on with the leaf blower
“I look like a highlighter“. Lmao, that was great!
The blockies put ur rod in?
