Every wonder where are they now?
Today, I take another nostalic and historic memory lane road trip. In this episode, I visit the famous gravesites of some of the cast members of the classic 1950s and '60s TV sitcom LEAVE IT TO BEAVER.
    GRAVESITES VISITED:
Burt Mustin, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills, CA
Doris Packer, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, CA
Frank Bank, Hillside Memorial Park, Culver City, CA
Barbara Billingsly, Woodlawn Cemetery, Santa Monica, CA,
Other cast members who were buried out of state or who were cremated and have no final resting place to visit, include: Ken Osmond, Hugh Beaumont, Richard Deacon, Sue Randall, and Stanley Fafara.
I also remember the cast members who are still living: Jerry Mathers, Tony Dow, Stephen Talbot, Rusty Stevens, Jeri Weil, Rich Correll, Buddy Joe Hooker and Tiger Fafara.
In addition, I visit the CBS Studio Center (formerly Republic Pictures) in Studio City, California, where Leave It To Beaver was filmed. Included with this visit is a walk down the Studio City Walk of Fame.
Thanks for joining me on my travels on yet another trip to the past, down memory lane.

Wow Steve. Everytime you're at Forest Lawn Hollywood, I wonder if my Mother is laid to rest near any celebrities in the ' Love And Kindness ' section. Just as you were panning across the grounds it looked as if you were very near her sight. She was an amazing gospel singer but only locally recognized. This adventure also brought back memories of my daughter defending ' Leave It To Beaver ' in a discussion class at her Jr. High School many years ago. She found the show totally relatable largely to the father figure. He loved his boys but wasn't afraid to discipline when warranted. Although she never said it, I guess I was her ' Ward ' . She's in her mid thirties now but I've never forgotten that. Thanks again for another wonderful journey.

Burt Mustin was from my neck of the woods, he was a Pittsburgh native. He had appeared on Phyllis. His character, Arthur Lanson, married Mother Dexter, played by Judith Lowry. They both passed away within two months of each other. Barbara Billingsley will always be June Cleaver. But I still chuckle when I think of her as that jive talkin' mama from Airplane. When I was in high school in the mid-70s, Ken Osmond was my local LAPD officer. He usually was on a motorcycle. One day when I was with a group of friends in a car, my friend was speeding on city streets. Ken Osmond pulled him over. In his best Eddie Haskill voice, he said, what are you doing Sam, driving with your head under your armpit? He gave my friend a warning. We said, no, give him a ticket, we want your autograph!

@@TheGraveyardChannel He worked out of Foothill Division serving the community of Sunland-Tujunga which is located about 15 miles from the Rose Bowl. I think it was the late 70s when he did a routine traffic stop he was shot several times in his chest. His bullet-proof vest saved his life.

I had the fortunate opportunity of meeting Jerry Mathers and having him join me on my morning live radio show in Harrisburg, Pa. about 15 years ago. Jerry was one of the best actors I've had the opportunity to interview and learn so much of what took place behind the scenes that I don't think a lot of people were aware of. I was just a kid then when the show was on and never missed an episode. This and having done much research prior to Jerry joining me on my show, it was a true honor. Thank You Jerry!

I always would enjoy watching this program of Leave it to Beaver every single day when I was much younger. Every single day was another to be taught.
How I miss this program very much but here is one piece of advise: now that we are grown ups and have to stay indoors during this quarentine, at least we can see episodes of Leave it to Beaver.
Please think positive at all times. ©®
