My great Aunt is Billie Burke "The Good Witch". My sister looks exactly like her beautiful & sweet just like her. As a child she dressed up as The Good Witch & everyone said how much she was just like her. We told them it's bc she is related to her so.. I'm proud of Billie Burke she did an amazing job acting & looking stunning at 54 years of age while filming, I couldn't believe that when I read it. She will be forever remembered in the film. 👠👑🎩🕊🌹

Buddy Ebsen was the Tin Man who got sick from the silver makeup. And he played Uncle Jed Clampet on the Beverly Hillbillies. Side note; there used to be a miniature metal mechanical / early animatronic Mach-up of him dancing in the Walt Disney Story that was at WDW on Main Street. You would have enjoyed that. I think I read where that attraction had been moved to Tokyo Disneyland. Sorry I missed the watch party, Saturday. Thank you for the videos and Happy Halloween 🎃

I do recommend watching Gone with the Wind at least once. Its view of history is of course problematic (especially if you watch it immediately after Django Unchained!) but it is a really magnificent experience, in terms of cinematography, acting, and music. It also contains excellent performances by some of the leading black actors of the time.

So wonderfully done. I lived in Southern California as a kid way before you were born, (and we met Lucy and Desi as well as Jay North who played Dennis the Menace at that time) and never got back there until a couple of years ago. I went to Westwood to see Marilyn and everyone else and made it to Hollywood Forever and saw Judy. I had an extremely abused childhood and young life and the old movies, especially the old black and whites, were my escape and those people became like God's to me. I was really touched by what you just said about this is what you and Jessica live for, because I am the same way, except I didn't follow my heart and move to Los Angeles years ago like I should have. After not having been there for so many years, when I went a couple of years ago I thought maybe I would be disappointed. Nope. On the contrary, it immediately felt like home to me ( there's no place like home...👠👠) and I get an energy and a spiritual feeling there that I get nowhere else. I've lived in South Florida now for over 30 years and while it's not terrible, I really wish I was in Los Angeles, with its problems and all. But I'm 66 now on a limited retirement and could never afford it. But it remains where my heart is and I was never happier than I was when I visited a couple of years ago. I'm happy you guys are able to live your dream.

Wow. Incredible. I’ve always regarded The Wizard of Oz as the greatest horror movie of all time. I say that based on the fact that the first time I ever became aware of my own mortality was when I was a small child and saw the hour glass that was presented to Dorothy by the witch. I began to cry hysterically and when my mother asked me what was wrong I could not articulate that at that moment I realized one day I would die. Years later in my early twenties I began to dabble in the occult and when I just happened to watch it again the Wizard behind the curtain who was nothing but an old man took on a very deep meaning in that moment of my life and I immediately abandoned my practices. The message was clear. I regard this movie personally as the most Magickal, greatest films of my life. All Hail Dorothy!!!

The actor to first try the role as the the Tinman was Buddy Ebsen. He later starred as Jed Clampett in the CBS television sitcom The Beverly Hillbillies. You welcome Grimm.

My old elementary school Cerritos is located across the street from the entrance of Forest Lawn Glendale. While in Kindergarten 1964 our class walked across the street with our teacher to look at the pond, fountain, and birds there. Over the years, 1964-1970, while playing on the playground we would see very long funeral precessions driving by. Our teachers would tell us it was a famous actor or actress that passed away. This is one of the oldest cemeteries of the stars in Los Angeles county. Years later as an adult, I would go back and look and be in awe of the beautiful art located in and around there. As a teenager in the 70s, I went with my parents to a Little People's golf tournament hosted by Billy Barty and met many of the actors who played the Munchkins. Fun memories. My family played with one of the descendants of Terry AKA Toto. While in the back area of the Spokane Arena we had the Ice Capades of the Wizard of OZ in the late 1990s and the Shriners like myself would entertain the kids as they came in to be seated. Where I dressed to be in an animal costume, a little Carrien terrier comes running into our dressing room. We all said that sure looks like Toto. The owners come in and retrieve the dog. They told us he was a direct descendent of the dog who did play Toto. My kids were there at that time and got to pet him. A sweet dog who was looking for friendship and attention.

I'm colorblind. I never really knew it until I joined the Army and failed my eye exam. Looking back when I was watching TWOO as a kid I never knew the scene turned to color until I told about it. It looked " different " to me but all I see is more complex greys. Oh well.

This was a wonderful tribute to The Land Of Oz actors/actresses. Judy Garland had the roughest life of all. Her mother was a ruthless stage mother and had Judy working at the tender age of 2 or 3. Such a beautiful young lady, her story is a tragedy!
Buddy Epson was slatted to play the tin man. I've seen rare footage of him playing the role. For as prominate actor as he was, he didn't fit the role of the tin man well. Jack Hailey was a much better choice. Hailey facial type because he was emotional was a better choice, than Buddy Epson's rather stern expressions. It's sad Toto's original grave was destroyed. However, SHE (YES, Toto was a female Cairn Terrier), and a smart little dog as well.
Mike, you and Jessica should see Victor Flemming's other opus! Gone With The Wind is a classic and historic film. It happens to be my favorite book/film. Clark Gable is unforgettable as are Olivia DeHaviland. Your all about history (rather you dislike slavery or not), it isn't just about that one element! Does it glamorize the old south, not really. It's a movie about ALL the struggles of that time. Also the struggle of a young woman who goes to any length to keep her beloved home Tara! Funny people don't have a problem with Dorathy Gale saying "There's no place like home" , but have an issue with Scarlett O'Hara saying "As God is my witness, I'll never go hungry again!" As she holds up the red Georgia clay of her home Tara. I think this is childish and small minded. Most that criticize the book/film have never read the book or seen the film! Ridiculous!

I'm surprised at the condition of some of these grave markers for ones like Jack Haley. Time has aged them to an almost illegible state. I can't imagine why nobody didn't keep them in better condition.
Side note--the first actor cast as the Tinman who was stricken with cancer was named Buddy Ebsen. He went on to play Jed Clampett in tvs "The Beverly Hillbillies".

Jerry Maron was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met! In his later life he used to do a lot of appearances and signings and you just couldn’t ask to meet a nicer human being than Jerry. I mean the man would basically do any request a fan of the movie asked. From singing to the camera, to posing with kids dressed as the lollipop guild trio and so on. Just an awesome guy all around. May he R.I.P
