1:34 his laugh is very good
I’m really liking how they made killing Luke a genuine accident. Aemond had been stealing the shown and Ewan Mitchell is nailing it. I can’t wait to see Aemond unleash his dark side.
Dark side? R u dumb? He killed his own nephew!
I'm not sure I'd call this a 'genuine accident', in the same way I wouldn't consider a DUI manslaughter a genuine accident. You may not have intended to kill someone, but you're still willfully engaging in behaviour that you very well know to be reckless and dangerous. Not really an accident...
@@saoirserubio536 - If you don't intend to do something, then you do it accidentally. You bear some blame, but still anything done unintentionally is done by accident, whether you were negligent or not.
@@florbfnarb7099 What precisely about this is accidental? He is clearly, and purposefully, threatening Lucerys, and he clearly intended him harm back at Storm's End. Doesn't seem at all unintentional to me.
@@saoirserubio536 - You can read it on the expression on his face, and his attempts to stop his dragon.
I swear to god they Aemond is the definition of an anime villain come to life 😂 The white haired, black coat, eye patch, scar, scary ass blue eye and even the villain laugh 💀I also like how when the thunder reflected on the the blue eye it almost looked like a dragons eye.
I’m glad I’m not the only who noticed it does look like a dragon eye. it kinda looks like Viserions when the night king turned him
His villain origin story is a pig
@@analauramorelrocha2383🙊😂 Sorry I had to laugh.
I understand how bad bullying is, Ibwas bullied myself, but Aemond just went waaaaay to far and became the bully himself.
@@analauramorelrocha2383you forgot to mention the s3xual assault at 13, child parentification, emotionally incestuous relationship with alicent, bullying, neglect from viserys, and loosing his eye. Never getting justice for any of it
It's almost like Palpatine or Hego Damask. He can go all dark assassin if needed but first he is something else
So happy Ewan Mitchell is getting much deserved praise. He is amazing, can’t wait to see more of him next season.
why does he look older than Daemond 🤣
@@Thesquirtlegamer it`s realy kind of strange and funny, cause actor is only 25, i mean he`s much younger than matt smith
@@Thesquirtlegamer hug? You way off.
The opening shot where Aemond turns around just standing there with the thunder in the background
is intimidating in itself, & pretty much a mirror image to the histories & lore version of this event #Perfect
Dude would have fit right in at Storm's End.
What a killer performance, no pun intended. It was never clear in the book whether or not he intended to kill Luke. So I'm loving the decision they made to show this as an accident. And again, Ewan Mitchell nailed it. Emmy, please.
how was this an accident? i saw them both trying to control the dragons but what was he doing chasing him? just trying to scare him or get him to crash? it seemed like he had ill intent the entire time, but the dragon killing him was a mistake?
@@busterdog321 I think he was just toying with him and wanted to scare him. He probably wanted to kill him but not in that moment as he didn’t want to start the war
1:33 this was already attempted murder. If vhaegars feet bumped into arrax, it would already be over. Aemond is badass but also a brat, he shouldnt be doing that, what he did in the hall was already below him
@@busterdog321 Aemond is a bully and he's reckless. He's trying to scare Luke out of his wits but killing him? Nope. Neither of the dragons obey their riders and when Vaghar kills Arrax (and Luke along with him) you can hear him shout "no, no, no".
@@busterdog321 you can even see him reaching for Luke when he fell (which was obv useless lmao but it shows he really didn't want him to die)
A kinslayer but what a handsome kinslayer , i adore him
every time i watched this scene i always love the little details about how aemond's hair looked a little messy and loose, as he just rode a dragon, when he usually have a very sleek and neat tied hair
idk i just love him with those lil messy fly outs lmao
3:57 even though he hated Luke for slashing his eye deep down Aemon never wanted him dead but sadly no one will believe that and think he did it on purpose
At least in the show
Let's say that in the Series he suggests that Aemond more than hating Luke for having his eye gouged out, is pure narcissism. Aemond was more than willing to lose an eye to have the dragoness Vaghar. Therefore I am more than convinced that his attitude towards Luke,is just to bully the boy.
@@lenz_karot3954 He was never ok with having his eye cut out. He only said that to calm the situation down. Actually Rhaenyra is quiet narcissistic. In the situation after Aemonds eye is cut out she uses gaslighting to divert the attention and avoid accountability. Then she demands that her 10 year old brother is to be tortured. Question sharply means torture in asoiaf universe. When no one seems to protect her son at the prospect of having him tortured Alicent has a breakdown. Rhaenyra is calm like most narcissists when they can make someone loose it and uses Alicents reaction against her to make her seem crazy. It's like from a textbook about narcissism.
Rhaenyra is called Maegor with teats after her great grandfather Maegor the cruel for a reason. She was a narcissist, selfish and cruel. They toned a lot of characters down in the show including her. I'm interested how narcissistic they will make her. And the book the series was based on was written by some Maesters who leand towards black already.
@@danika9411 The actress who plays Rhaenyra even says that Rhaenyra is a terrible person who doesn’t care for anyone.
I just want to point out how Aemond's hair is slightly frizzled at the beginning because he arrived on dragonback during a storm instead of his perfectly smooth hair
You also can’t help feel for Arrax, at the very end you can feel his fear as he flaps his wings frantically.
You can feel his fear when he literally disobeys his rider and shoots flames at a way fucking bigger dragon chasing him.
I felt more sorry for Arrax then Luke. Luke had the personality of a bag of wet flour.
@@Fenrisdog999 Arrax was kind of stupid for doing that though, like would he willingly intimidate the biggest dragon in the realms who is already chasing him? lmao.
@@IBeMelissa not stupid just afraid what's he supposed to do wait to get ran down ?
@@IBeMelissaIt's fight or flight instinct taking over. Like a kitten hissing and pawing at a waybigger human in fear.
God that first shot of him standing there with the thunder and lightning is just🤌🏼.
The whole storms end sequence is so good i feel like im not watching a tv show but some other movie instead.
Aemond: ".....Uhm.... Spit him out....? Vomitorys?"
ewan mitchell has such a future ahead of him, loving his performance and cannot wait to see him in season 2
You know Ewan is a wonderful actor by the way he slowly lowers his right foot when turning to face Luke. Such a nice touch, Aemond knows Luke is intimated by him.
Aemond was one of the best characters from this season. I do think he is a better person than Daemon who he is compared with... Killing his wife and how he treats a lady make him lame. Aemond 1 Daemon 0
W take
Aemond knows how to take care of women
Man was shy infront of brothel lady 💀
Facts
True
Have you seen the last kingdom on Netflix
He became my favourite character on the show
“Peace?” Lord Otto Hightower swirled his wine thoughtfully, took a deep draft, and hurled his empty cup to the floor, where it shattered into a thousand pieces. “There’s your peace, Your Grace. Your princely brother shattered it for good and all the instant he let Vhagar’s jaws tear Arrax and Prince Lucerys apart. You’ll have a better chance of drinking from that cup than convincing Rhaenyra to accept the peace terms we offered.”
He didnt mean to kill Luke but unfortunately it happened, he only wanted to scare him
Vhagar acted on her own, but ofc no one will believe that because they know Aemond has motivation to kill Luke for taking his eye, and he was publicly taunting him before first at the dinner scene, and then when Luke came as a messenger to deliver his mother's letter and Aemond threatened to take his eye as payment. People know Aemond's hostility towards Luke, so sadly no one is gonna believe his death was by accident.
@@IBeMelissa Yes absolutely and Borros is a witness that he threatened Luke in his castle
Dragons don't know what a joke is, they take it seriously
Aemond 😍😍
After stomping Arrax
Aemond- No No No Vhagar, Nooooo!
Vhagar- Noooooo!
@ 3:40 even I as a viewer didn’t had enough time to react. This whole episode was great
I love Aemond 💚💚
I guess from his expression that Aemond is sorry and aware that he has started a chain of deaths in the future to come
Luc should have stayed in between the cliffs. Aemond would have eventually relented because his goal was to scare the living sh* out of Luc.
I thought so too until I rewatched the scene. The cliff was very narrow and Arrax with as fast as he was could not safely stop in there. He couldn't even fully spread out his wings. He would need to fly slightly outside slow down and fly back in. They would have seen them probably from above. And if he was scared to be killed ( he didn't know Aemond was bluffing ) this could have been their death with Vaghar blowing fire in tge narrow space.
At first I thought stopping in the cliff, turning around and flying back and then somewhere to safety.
i feel so bad for luke, but especially his dragon. getting killed by your own species wow
Getting killed by your own species is normal. Just look at how many conflicts humans have had and we're the most intelligent species on the planet
Cannibalism among reptiles isn't uncommon.
@@Spider-Man2094 i know that, i haven't read the books so I wasn't expecting that at all
What was the plan if Vhagar actually grasped arrax and lucerys at 1:54? Just ride all the way to kings landing with arrax and Luke impaled on Vhagar claws like an eagle carrying a mouse? Lol “oh shit how’d that happen?”
Scare him. He knew arrax was faster. Or maybe he didn't have a plan but to improvise but eventually he killed his nephew
Two of them lost control of their dragons rip to Luke and I hope Aemond can feel peace
Like two pet owners.
@@Samperor so sad big dog killed little dog n the owner
@@Samperor that’s why you chain up your dogs or leave them at home
@@rasheemthebestfirstone3274 Like I do with your mum?
aemond : give me ur eye
vhager : he can keep it
Ewan acting with his ONE EYE please
The killing of Luke by Aemond's dragon was negligence, not an accident. While Aemond did not intend to kill Luke, has actions led to this result and ultimately the start of the war (that ultimately will become the fall of House Targaryen).
@@heizeking3557 the attack by Luke's dragon on Aemond's was in reaction to Aemond's action in the air of having his dragon threaten Luke. You create a situation, if it spins out of control as it did here you are responsible for the consequences.
@@heizeking3557 @Heize King @Heize King as per Viserys Targaryen comments earlier in the season "the illusion is the rider controls the dragon." Aemond created the situation where Arrax attacked Vhagar... the fault ultimately lies with Aemond and his creating a scenario he could control.
@@heizeking3557 sounds like you’re the biased one here
@@melatonin_222 because I care to understand and analyze Aemond's character deeper than the Black stans?
Actually the war started when the King took his daughter 's side above his son that just lost an eye. Every action from then taken by the greens was in preparation for the coming war.
Homie fucked up 💀💀💀
I still want to learn that knife trick
1:18 👀
He really reminds me of Diedra
It was creepy when Luke entered and he saw him standing and it scared me, also Mr Baratheon is not a nice man , i think Robert Baratheon was nicer
What a terrible crime Luke did with Aemond Targaryen what a bad thing he did, he cut his left eye it's just awful, I feel sorry for him. It cannot be called an accident, even in the books "Fire and Blood" by the American writer George R. R. Martin in the genre of epic fantasy, I did not find it. And again, Ewan Mitchell hit the nail on the head, and that's it. Alicente protect him.
Arrax was no match for Vhagar
I love him but he is a danger, i think a threat
I hope aemond doesn’t get his eye on his darksister
1:18
I am attracted to Aemond but he intimidates me and i am older , sometimes i feel stupid for that
So did anyone see if the dragon ate the kid or did he fall to his death and could he of lived?
No I saw him break into pieces.
He got ate
Aemond: "Should I chase and harass my terrified nephew on his adolescent dragon with my ancient behemoth who probably has post traumatic stress disorder from all of those battles of which outnumber my own age? Sure! That's a great idea!"
Aemond after Vhagar completely banjaxed Lucerys and Arrax: 👁👄
Lol, Vaghar was an old dragon that came to Westeros in the age of the doom of Valeria. She chose Aemond because she knew with his fighting spirit and reckless actions that he will die young and she will finally die in battle.
No vegah 11No aemon 😅
Why are females always dripping over bad guys like Aemond... It is disturbing.
Worse than a wife killer? Or a niece groomer?
Aemond is :
1) A prince
2) Intelligent
3) Educated
4) Rich
5) Good warrior
6) Has a dragon
7) Also handsome
Wtf this didn’t make any sense
He's only showing when Aemond was actually on screen.
??
@@cintiadourado180 They reflected the many events in the book on the screen as if they were an accident. This makes the readers a little sad.
@@denizerkasla1706 only cause the book is written like a fictional history book with all the biases of the writers, so it allows the showrunners to explore the characters with more depth
Cringemond Targaryen
KinSLAYer Aemond Targaryen
You’re cringe he is hot
I wish they didn't make it an accident. The scene would have been way more intense.
Yeah Aemond's previous words and actions don't accurately reflect the way he responded to the outcome of this situation. Making it an accident seems like they are forcing us to sympathize with him, and make it more "complex" than it really is. He is a young man consumed by the idea of revenge. Even taking Lucery's eye out (on purpose) after all this time would have dire consequences.
@@in_vas_por8810 i'm probably not qualified to talk about this at all, having only watched clips of this show, but i disagree. i think calling it an accident is a bit of a disservice. It was a case of something going too far too fast. Aemond's desire for revenge and his belief he could control Vhagar combined to make a horrible outcome. In a way, it humanizes Aemond, which i think is the whole point. GRRM has a penchant for making characters we can hate and understand in equal measures.
@@jazzybee4783 For someone who has only seen clips, u got the point across perfect!
@@nugget3419 thank you! i'd also like to point out the way his voice pitches up on "Give me your eye!" in the throne room, almost like it's cracking. It doesn't just sound angry, it sounds desperate. which, in my opinion, lends credence to the idea that going after Luke with Vhagar wasn't a cold, calculated act of malice, but an impassioned manifestation of years worth of rage, possibly not even all of it being for Luke himself.
@@jazzybee4783 I think I agree with you. In the show I feel sympathy for the greens. The king only cared for his 1st daughter. His actions makes it clear where he stands.
