Full Flight: United Express E175 Newark to Pittsburgh (EWR-PIT)

- Hey guys! Welcome to another full flight video! This time, I'm aboard a United Express E175 on route to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from Newark, New Jersey! If you couldn't tell from the video, I really enjoyed this flight. I thought the crew was extra nice and even served drinks to the entire plane when they really didn't have to. Because this flight was empty, we pushed back early and arrived into Pittsburgh over 40 minutes early. The boarding process was also smooth, the plane was equipped with WiFi, free IFE, and had good legroom for a RJ. United's onboard product on these E175s is OK, but the seats definitely could be more comfortable. They are slimline and honestly could be worse than some ULCC seats. Besides that, everything else was smooth...on the flight portion of this video at least. Regarding COVID, I couldn't feel more safe than on this flight. Republic Airways is definitely my favorite regional subsidiary airline as they run their company very well and the E175 is one of my favorite aircraft. Hope you guys enjoy!
Newark Food Story: I had about an hour and a half connection at EWR and so I was looking for some food to hold me over until I got to Pittsburgh. Basically all restaurants I passed were closed except for a burger place across from my gate. When I got there, many people were standing around looking disgruntled and I didn't know what was up, but I was hungry so I placed my order for a simple hot dog. While waiting almost a half hour for it, I learned that there were people who had been waiting for 1-2 HOURS for their food. I began to think I had made a mistake, but "luckily" my dog came in about a half hour of waiting. When they asked what toppings I wanted, I said relish and mustard. The person probably spoke 1% English and so couldn't understand what I was saying...telling me they don't have them when I was staring right at both condiments. I ended up having to point to the person what I wanted. Also, I only ordered a hot dog without fries because they cost literally the same price as the dog, yet when I received my food, they also gave me fries. :D That's where the "workers were lost in space" comes from...cause they literally were. Worst airport food experience I've ever had, period.

Thanks, even though I have taken this flight about 20 times and know everything there is to know about it
Great report. So many wins in my book: Awesome Captain announcement, own row aka uncrowded plane, window seat view, beautiful weather for flying, beverage service - full size can given, and a 40 min early arrival. Thanks for sharing!
that same captain flew me from chicago to pittsburgh in june he was so cool
I remember flying down to see my mom in West Palm Beach right as Covid was starting. I took a Jetblue A320 down from TF Green in Providence. There was only 4 folks including myself on the entire plane...!!! I then wondered why there was no beverage service or IFE and they said because of cost measures they cut it. It truly must have sucked for these folks during the height of this pandemic. I mean you have to make a living to support yourself or your family. So what that captain said before they departed really was genuine and heartfelt god bless him for doing that. It's not an easy job because there are so many pricks out there that i find make there jobs unnecessarily difficult. And if your that type your best bet is just don't fly they and other passengers don't need anymore stress than they already have with this kind of job.
Great video, it makes you feel emotional when pilots talk that way and appreciate what we do for them
Another great video.
Another great video ngl, these videos are epic.
Very nice message from the pilot
Excellent job bro! I loved it, 10/10! ✈😎
Love PIT! Always will. Worked for Continental from 06 until the UA merger. It was a great place go work. Thanks for the video!
My dad and i will be doing this same flight. Except were going out of PVD-TF Green Providence, RI to Newark. I didn't think they'd have beverage or snack service after all this is a city hopper flight. Most of which are an hour and under in duration. The E175 on Republic via United is a nice small jet it's got plenty of space. Especially if your in first class or premium economy. We flew in premium economy seats 7A & B right behind the curtain. My window seat was fine. However, my dads legs were sticking out a bit into the aisle but nobody bumped him. Since there was no beverage carts or service of that kind. Plus, if you book those seats make sure someone is sitting in 7B. Because if the flight is full many folks sit in that seat if it's empty waiting to use the restroom at the front of the jet. So if your trying to snooze you'll have strangers getting up and down next to you if your in 7A. Plus, there is no under seat storage in 7B only in 7A under the first class seat in front of you. The plus is these seats have more legroom than in first class...!!! So even though the seats are a bit narrow you have MORE than enough leg room. Embraer makes good jets they are quiet and efficient. Although they have stiff competition now with the Airbus A220-100 & 300 variants. Especially the Embraer E195 which is the largest variant and will compete with the A220-100. United is a great airline though and i rank them just as good as Delta.
what a nice landing love your vids man
Dude I love your vedios especially this one plain ride from Newark to Pittsburgh and the one on board the amtrack from New York pen to Pittsburgh! I love how you explain in detail about all the places along the way to your destination! Keep up the great work! Very entertaining! 👍
That pilot deserves an Oscar, ha. In all seriousness though, I wish more pilots would do what he did...or at least show their faces to the passengers...it humanizes the whole thing. Anyway, 👍👍 to the captain as well as the rest of the crew. I wish them all the best during this challenging time.
100% agree man, should be more pilots like him
@@thejazzguy13 absolutely!!
I love airports. But I like big planes, I cannot lie!
Thanks for sharing your experience.
🛩❤✈🛩❤✈🛩❤✈
Wow what a speech by the captain very from his ❤️
Beautiful flying weather
Another great video! It seems like a pretty nice flight to PIT. Can't wait to see what the future videos will be.
Bet it’ll be the BA 787 to LHR Andrew!
I wholeheartedly agree with you. Words can't even begin to describe how wonderful he is as an individual.
I have taken this flight like 20 times now, and yes it is very nice. Although a little short
Thanks!
Great video!
Howdy, absolutely amazing trip report as always Mr.Jazz! The boarding message actually made me tear up a bit! UA seems to be surpassing AA as my favorite now!😸😻😸😻
Thanks man! And I would totally agree with that last statement :D UA > AA
Well done
I love how you mainly fly on the smaller planes, thanks for always doing a great job
Seeing as though it is like a 45 min flight no reason to take a 787, that is the reason why they are called Regional Jets.
@@MrFloppy131 It is a bit longer than 45; bout an hour
@@viksinha5410 I was going by what the flight attendant said
@@MrFloppy131 Sometimes it is shorter (I guess it was here), but when I have taken it (which is about 20 times now) it is usually around 1 hour
You are so awesome!
Nobody better dislike this video
I sure hope not. He is way too amazing to deserve a dislike on his videos.
G’day mate, I live in Melbourne Australia and we have been in COVID lockdown for the last 4 months, it hasn’t been easy, however Your videos have made it so much easier to handle, I’ve loved all of them....THANK YOU so much for making a difference....
Thanks so much for the support mate, appreciate it! And hope things get better over there soon! I've heard murmurs from some Aussie friends of mine like OWFlyer of what's going on over there, really must suck
I went to Pittsburgh and to New York City 🌃 nice video
14:14 Cumulonimbus incus or anvil cloud. Wow! Some heavy rain under that.
I was in EWR in 2009 back when Continental Airlines was still around
Third yay going bk to my station
He looked so familiar if he's the Captain when Republic was operating Q400's I definitely had a few positive interactions with him as I was a RSE (Ramp Service Employee)
What about JetBlue during these times? I have booked a flight with them for December. Fantastic video as always! 👌🏼
Will have some JetBlue vids coming relatively soon and thx! (Spoiler: they're really good)
Ok!
Nice video pal! Now, "promote" social distance can have interesting interpretations, can't it? Thanks for sharing!
Is it only me that realized that the captain looked directly into the camera for a good minute or two 😁?
Do you want to go home the Pittsburgh PA? Yes i want to go home the Pittsburgh PA!
Oh yes!
24:46 This makes it look like you’re driving 100 mph! I’ve done 95 before
Lol at 0341 ramp agents glove is ripped. That’ll help!
Oh yes Pittsburgh PA!
😂😂😂
Pittsburgh Airport > My Airport (Dallas-Fort Worth) in my opinion :)
back in the day Allegheny would hve brought you over on a DC-9 Or a Bac-111 with maybe even a snack but definately something to drink and peanuts or pretzels maybe even a 727
Joe said it would.
MR rogers is from the PIT area isnt he
The boss baby the season 2 the P.U.
How do you prove a safety domestic flight ✈️ during COVID? Did you fill complete a sworn from/to? Mandatory quarantine?
Pittsburgh PA the yes!
@@ToanNguyen-zm6fz any mandatory quarantine upon arrival?
@@alexanderhuamani1158 hell no not in the USA
@@davidharris2519 How did you know if you travel safely nationwide during covid?
@@alexanderhuamani1158 cause there is nothing from the airlines or on the news or from videos i have seen of people traveling and above all else no trvel warning about flying in the USA
Newark is my local airport that's empty due to covid compare to times that is suuper full on summer and holidays
Maybe a dumb question. Are you from Pgh? It’s a great city been here my whole life.
How was the flight only 51 min? And you went around the airport at Pittsburgh before landing as well, insane how the flight can be that short. The 20+ times I have taken it is normally 55-60 min.
It seems as though cleveland Hopkins is the only airport without a people mover
Where he will go next
How about fly Spirit in 2020?
Spirit the A320!
Thank you!
I have already flown them in 2020! And I have a few more vids shot on them coming soon
Interesting that a regional jet would have more lav space than a 320 or 737.
got ginger ale bold kind of a pepper taste
Another great video! I’d love to visit PIT after we get a vaccine-never been there. UA has really upped their customer service over the last couple of years, it has gone from abysmal to meh +, pre-Covid.
Put JetBlue on this list!
Coming eventually!

What's your opinion of EWR Terminal C as a whole? I know that a some people like to hate on EWR and call Terminal C a very ghetto place that is falling apart.
It's ok...for the age it's quite nice actually with some decent renovations
I've been to EWR countless times, and it is not at all a very ghetto place; only people like my dad say that. Because he has visited so many great airports around the world so his expectations are unrealistic. EWR terminal C is good for its age and is only becoming better. Even Terminal A isn't bad. I'm serious.
How would you feel if you were the sole passenger on a flight?
I would be listening for the theme from the Twilight Zone.........
Funny you should ask that, one of my last flights I was the only passenger :D Kinda cool feeling
@@thejazzguy13 I wholeheartedly enjoy your positive outlook.
@@thejazzguy13 Haha you should post that flight video!
@@viksinha5410 I agree. It would be hilarious.

Its quite possible that many of the UA employees you've encountered at DCA,EWR and PIT may well be out of a job because of the expiration of the CARES Act, money that was given to airlines to stave off layoffs--as you know, the CARES Act wasn't renewed by Congress due to stalling of an economic relief bill,so as of 10/1,to quote a certain resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave,"You're fired!" As for your ginger ale, grateful to see a drink service but noticed the glaring omission of ice! A room temperature soda, not terribly exciting but thankful--do you ever drive yourself to/from PIT? Seems in every trip report, you get a ride from somebody.
Next time you go the Pittsburgh airport can you please not time-lapse the train because they're really cool and they might be gone soon
almost a dollar cheaper for gas in ark
UA uses way too much of the non-mainline a/c on flights in this time and even before

How did you know it’s McKeesport ?
Did you hear the gunshots from the plane ? Lol
