Delta Airlines - Boeing 717 FULL FLIGHT EXPERIENCE/FLIGHT REPORT Newark to Atlanta (HD)

- For today's video, here is a full flight experience on board Delta Airlines' Boeing 717 from Newark to Atlanta!
This flight was Delta Airlines Flight 2453 DAL2453/DL2453 with service to Hartsfield Jackson International Airport (KATL/ATL) from Newark Liberty International Airport (KEWR/EWR).
The aircraft I flew was N915AT, a Boeing 717-231, which had it's first flight in March 2001, making the aircraft 13.6 years old!
During the video, I was sitting in Seat 23E.
FLIGHT EXPERIENCE :
Information about Delta Airlines : Delta Airlines is one of the "big 3" carriers of the United States, and serves many destinations in the world internationally with a large variety of aircraft. Delta's fares are usually low cost and they offer good in-flight entertainment most of the time. The legroom is also good on most of their airplanes.
Seats : Delta has the usual First Class and Economy Class. They offer a section called Economy Comfort which is located in the coach cabin, which has better legroom and more boarding time. Find out more about Economy Comfort on Delta's website : bit.ly/PUkkBv
The seat configuration of Delta's Boeing 717-200's is 2 x 3.

Delta offers USB and power ports onboard the plane throughout the ENTIRE cabin for FREE!
Food/Beverage : Delta uses the standard carts to haul food and drinks around the aisles of the airplane. They offer complimentary Coca Cola beverages and 3 choices of free snacks, which include mini pretzels, cinnamon cookies and peanuts. Delta pours the drink into the a plastic cup. Flight Attendants : The flight attendants on board this flight were excellent, very accommodating and always had a smile on their faces - I can tell that they enjoyed their jobs and loved to help others! Out of my several Delta flights, all of the flight attendants were great.
Turbulence : There was none during this flight, a very smooth ride.
Delays : We were on schedule and arrived early on this flight! Good job to Delta for no delays :)
In-Flight Entertainment : On this flight, there were no Personal TV's or any AVOD entertainment - the 717 fleet is not equipped with these because they are used for short haul routes. The entertainment included the magazines...and looking out the window ;) Just kidding...there is also On-Demand audio streaming in all classes of the 717. There is also gogo in-flight WiFi available for purchase at a low price.
Baggage Costs : I did not choose to check in any bags, I put my luggage in the overhead compartments. If I did check a bag, it would have to weigh under 50 lbs and not exceed over 62 inches in total dimensions (length + width + height). Overall, Delta Airlines is the best out of the three major US carriers in my opinion. Usually, you can't go wrong with them unless there is a major problem. With the low prices and all the amenities you receive for free, Delta is always worth it!

Will be traveling by air for the first time in a couple months on a Boeing 717. Watching this to ease the anxiety.
Just peace and serenity while in deltas arms.
It's nice to see that Delta is saving all of airTran's old 717s rather than sending them to the boneyard! They are way too new for the boneyard and they are cooler than the reginalds (CRJ and ERJ)
I'm flying on one of these in a few months. I'm sitting close to the engine. I absolutely love the sound the engines make. Hopefully some day I can be a pilot, especially for Delta. Absolutely love Delta and flying. When I book trips for my self, I always book Delta because they are an amazing airline.

Gosh I so miss flying on the 717 used to fly AT's 717 outta KBMI down to KATL and then on to KMCO until they pulled out after the merger with Delta. I really enjoyed being able to upgrade to Business Class for $50 for the full trip outta Bloomington! Really nice job on the video - I play it in the background as I am working away on the computer so thanks so much for letting us 717 junkies out here get our fix of 717 noise!! I subscribed and liked as well! Keep up the great videos :)

When I was on a delta 717 from Atlanta to dalls love the take off was vary short and the flight suvice was one of the best I ever had

The 717 spool up sounds interesting and it's good but I prefer the MD-90 as the engines on this sound almost identical to a CF34-10E used on Embraer 190/195.

Excellent video, it looked like you took off from Newark on 22R, it also amazes me that 717's still exist. Those jets original belong to AirTran then Southwest.

I went from Wichita to Dallas on a a320
At 8:38 he drops his stick for guiding the pilots back. Did anyone notice that
I wish the 717 was never killed off at only 156 produced. Thousands of MD-80's and DC-9's in service are going to be replaced with 737's and A320's instead. Boeing killed that possibility of the 717 replacing them and forfeited 50% of its sales to Airbus in this area. They could of instead temporarily suspended production and revamp the 717 with a second generation that has lower operational costs, fuel efficiency, latest avionics, advanced aerodynamic winglets with a lighter composite fuselage and introduce it when the service lives of the MD-80's and DC-9's started to near its end in a few years. Their was an old saying that goes something like this, Lockheed Martin should design it, Boeing should build it and McDonald Douglass should market it. What a shame seeing an aircraft with a flawless safety record being discontinued.
Douglas is owned by boeing these days.

Any idea if any Delta 717 will come to KMKE later in 2015. MKE-DTW has a 717 flight I heard this spring. And MSP is going to get 717's in 2015. MKE-MSP has something like 5x MD88's and 1x CRJ-900 as far as I'm aware of. I would doubt MKE-ATL will get a Delta 717 as they got 5x MD90's and 2x 757's
***** Actually, I would think that MKE would get 717s pretty soon. It fits the capacity quite well, and seems like a good airport for it. Check airlineroute.net for updates ;)

Why didint Atlanta become a hub for American airlines it was a hub for twa and American airlines merged with it and usually when an airline merges with another Airline the airline that aqired the other airline takes over that hub

Hey there. You've got a big like from me and I subed. I haven't flown since Feb. 20, 2008, and I miss it. Hopefully the next time I'll be flying is in a couple months when I'll be going to get a new Guide Dog. I think it'll be Delta. For now, I'll just have to enjoy this experience with the headphones on. Wouldn't it be nice if you could velcro the camera to the seatback in front of you? That way, you could film the entire flight from start to finish. Not that I really care how it looks! Hahaha. It sounds wonderful, too. I could swear I felt my feet vibrating during those engine starts. I'll be "looking" out for more videos soon.

+CathayA340 You betya! I really enjoyed that video, too. I still haven't gone to get a new Guide Dog, because Zahara has exceeded all our expectations since she went in to semi-retirement. That means that she can still work all her familiar routs, but no new outside routs anymore. She does very well inside, even in new places. She tires out quite a bit outside, though, especially going uphill. We both do, for that matter, hahaha. I absolutely love her. She's a Yellow Lab, and I wish I could send a picture or video, but I don't have the equipment to do that. Sorry about that. I look forward to hearing more videos soon. Heather
