  • → Join me on yet another short flight aboard American Eagle - flying between cities that are only 110 miles apart! This is flight number 2 of my race to make it home in time for work - which worked out perfectly and I still have my job! We begin at PHX's gate B17 and push back. Being at the far east end of the airport and the departure runway being at the far west side of the airport, one can infer that the taxi time was very, very, long - 20 minutes long. A quick power nap later, and poof! We are at the end of the runway. This CRJ-900 roars to life and tears off down the runway, lifting off about halfway down. We fly the STRRM1 departure and turn to the south - overflying the suburbs of Mesa and Gilbert before continuing further south over the towns of Casa Grande, Eloy, and Marana before descending into Tucson. We land very softly on TUS's runway 11L and make the short taxi back to gate B8, where this flight concludes. As always, all the flight information you could ever desire can be found below!

I just watched the video. You flew right over my neighborhood in Chandler! Phoenix definitely looks a lot nicer and prettier than Tucson. It's a big night and day difference.

@@michaellost7338 I just prefer Phoenix because I love big cities and I love freeways. Tucson felt too much like an oversized small town. I've lived in both and found Phoenix better, but thats my opinion. I know some people who prefer Tucson and others who prefer Phoenix.

I am back home in Phoenix now. I also got another CRJ 700 with super clean windows for the return flight! I think Skywest Airlines finally cleaned the exterior of their CRJ 700s, at least the two I were on.

I'm going on this flight this Thursday! It's on a CRJ 700 though. Maybe I'll get one with clean windows, that is my hope.

@@AviationManiak Thanks! I got an awesome CRJ 700 yesterday. For the first time, I actually got one with super clean windows! I sure hope I get another good clean CRJ 700 tomorrow. It was the exact same takeoff and landing as filmed in this video. And now Tucson Airport has automated flight announcements! I was so surprised to hear them. You don't find them in smaller airports. Now I wonder if FLG and YUM got those too.

I want to film this flight in 4K sometime in the future. I'd probably just fly there and back in one day lol. I want to film all the Arizona routes in 4K. I want to fly to Tucson, Yuma, Flagstaff, Paige, and Show Low.

All we need is Southwest to make PHX-TUS a route and drive Americans prices into the ground...

@@AviationManiak I agree with you, Southwest should operate this route too. After all, they operate DEN to COS, and that is a 70 mile route.
