      I know what you mean! I've never actually flown on one of them, but everyone I know who has says they love it! I love the way it sounds, and I'd probably even like the way it feels, even though I'd probably have to fly in the back to hear those amazing engines! Yes, I do call it my favorite little plane that just wants to be there with the big guys, because it has so much power.

      @@heatherstub I finally got to fly on one from DET-STL a little over a year ago. It was a good flight. Boeing got it wrong when it decided to end the 717 and the 757. They're paying for it now.

    I remember my first flight on a DC-9-14 (the original Baby Nine) was in 1965, just after the plane was first introduced. The airline that operated this dc-9 was West Coast Airlines (anyone remember West Coast Airlines?) The flight was from Spokane WA to Seattle WA.

      Yes. This plane was an AirTran bird before it went to Delta.

    • @fltadm1
      @fltadm1 Před 2 lety

      @@sla31 I figured that by the planes registration with AT as the last two parts. I would have thought the FAA would have reregistered them when Air Tran nolonger existed when they merged with Southwest.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 2 lety

      Honestly, the FAA really doesn't care what aircraft are registered, as long as they're registered haha. Many airlines have tail numbers throughout their fleet that are left overs from mergers and acquisitions. The AT at Delta, also NW and US at DL from Northwest Airlines. American has TW tail numbers from TWA, and they also have UW and US from America West and US Airways. United still uses a ton of old Continental tail numbers. Anyways, the point is, it's not uncommon at all for airlines to just keep the tail numbers that the aircraft had when they were acquired from another airline.

      Have to click "show more" in the initial description. There is PLENTY of specifics....everything you could possibly ask

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 2 lety +1

      As other's have mentioned, the detailed information is available in every video in the description. Let me explain why I abbreviate the airports int he titles. CZcams limits the number of characters in a title to 100. If I spelled out Panama City Beach to Atlanta, that's 1/3 of my title space gone. And if I spell out the whole airports, Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.... That's literally 100 characters right there. So, I then couldn't fit any other info in the title. The airports all have FAA abbreviations that are widely accepted. So, I'm not having to make up abbreviations that no one is going to understand. The airpots/cities are the easiest thing to abbreviate, that at least half of people are going to know already. That said, I understand that not everyone knows the FAA airport codes. Especially when it comes to an airport like Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP). That's why I list the full info in the description, so everyone can find the answers to their questions without having to leave the video. In the end, it's literally not possible for me to spell out the cities or airports in the title. I mean, it's technically possible, but then the title would look like this: Full Flight - DAL - B712 - Panama City Florida to Atlanta Georgia - N938AT - DL2609 - IFS ep 444. In this scenario, every other piece of info is abbreviated and it's still too long for CZcams. That's why they're abbreviated in the titles. Thanks for watching everyone!
