I had a somewhat decent experience with United... they could've taken better steps in helping prevent the spread of COVID, but otherwise, everything was standard,

KEWR is my home airport. I last flew from there on March 6, so literally a handful of days before all the madness took off. Crazy to see how different it looks now as a result of it...

Great Video! The takeoff footage over NYC is amazing. I’ll be interested to see how these COVID precautions and restrictions for airlines develop as different states shift their reopening’s and guidelines.
I think United Airlines is an excellent airline with a solid if perhaps underrated inflight product. I flew with them between New Jersey and Texas this year and enjoyed the experience a great deal !

Happened to me twice when someone else was in my assigned seat. Once flying out and the other flying back on the same itinerary

I like the 739’s (and some 738’s) with DirecTV or video on demand such as this unit. Really don’t like the units which don’t have any IFE although I do like the Sky Interior.

I spotted PIA (Pakistan Airlines) at 2:11 if I'm not mistaken. It's a bit sad, travel by air is no longer that luxury as it used to be. Also feel sad with the fact that inflight magazine is also removed from the seat pocket. Great video, by the way.
Love this route! I was supposed to go heavy UA this year, but then this pandemic happened. I'm going on UA again next month, probably OMA-DEN.

Thought dulles was considering in flight attendant Dulles is the hub of east coast and my dad who is a pilot for United also said it was Dulles but maybe we both got it from scousrces I got mine from United

It doesn’t appear to me that UA is removing directv from their 737s, but they removed them from their 757-300s
I saw where pilots don't use approach plates paper ones any more .what happens when you loose coms and all screens go dark ? How do you use your sid how do you hold ?

Welcome to my part of the world! IAH is my home airport--on final,you passed over Hwy 59 and Deerbrook Mall--I live about a half hour north of there.Was mildly surprised,even though your flight departed at 535am,there was quite a bit of sunlight--down this way, it's still dark at that hour. Granted,you're on ET,an hour ahead of us and the NYC area is further north so perhaps it has to do something with the Earth's curvature. Am surprised you departed out of EWR--would think UA would have LGA-IAH nonstops as well--I do know that UA doesn't operate out of JFK. I'm guessing you flew nonstop to lessen the chance of a virus infection. Disappointed that the inflight mag is gone and onboard service is minimal,no buy on board boxed selections. So much for the middle seat being left vacant!

Planespotters.net says this jet is only 9 years old. 737-900ERs only came into service in 2006
where's the link to where we can buy one of those face masks? I have a upcoming 17 hour flight on united sep 2nd, and need a good one...although not sure how that's gonna work with my chronic asthma, hopefully I don't pass out...LITERALLY
Check with the airline. You MAY be able to get a medical exemption. Don't know what official airline policy is, but it wouldn't hurt to ask, anyway. Maybe also check with your doctor, and see what they recommend.
I still fly a lot because of work and have bad asthma. Mask was fine, better than getting the virus.

Air travel changed a lot, times in which we could have a delicious meal and a coffee on board are over. At the moment of writing this comment, air space in my country is still closed, Government ordered a very strict protocol in order to resume air travel, and it will start only for domestic flights. Good video, this material encourages to travel in aircraft again!

You wish that more steps had been taken by United to improve C19 prevention yet you step over 2 persons to get out. I think most people forget that its the passengers responsibility to actually adhere to the rules. If no one is doing their bit to prevent the spread of the virus (wearing masks, social distance etc), it will spread.

David B look I use to fly in American but last year I book a flight in United’s and it was good but this year 1 month ago I have a awesome flight with excellent service and all those things super good, since last year united have become in my personal use airline. In flew with them some years ago and it wasn’t good but now there awesome

David B imho United and American are about the same, used to hate AA but tolerate em now and I’ve had great flights on UA but I’ve also had some weird experiences on them. If I had to pick one tho UA is a tad better.

I just went on this same flight a month ago (Houston was a layover though) around this day at the same gate HDMSLFHDKDKFKD
Correction in the captions: N38443 first flew August 24, 2010 and was delivered December 21 that year.
Anyhow, what a route! Both are old Continental hubs. I’ve even flown to gate C73 before on a different 737-900ER in 2010. That also happened to be the year Continental merged into United. Great trip report as always.
There might have been a language barrier because the woman didn’t understand you and so therefore it took a bit for the message to get to her, if you know basic Spanish it may help if you ever encounter that again :)
