Mr Morgan, We are of very similar age. I also do the "hording" thing with some things. It may be a product of the times we were raised in to an extent. Plus, I don't know about you, but I was always taught "there won't be any more after that" when i was given something from my dad. so, I learned to take very good care of my "stuff" everything from motorcycles to my boots to my fishing/hunting gear and of course tools. So, to this very day I like to keep 'backups" to most things that are important to me, tools, hunting and fishing gear, etc. then once i have completely wore out an Item i use often. Because I use these thigs often it then becomes uncomfortable not to have them. So I keep my backups ensuring i won't have to " do without" the things I value and need to continue to keep my quality of life.

Love knives. My Dad as well, he always told me that I was not dressed unless I have a handkerchief in the back pocket with a comb, a watch on my arm and a pocket knife. The Benchmade is new to me, they look great! I lost a pocket flip while on vacation in Florida this past week. It was not an expensive knife, but broke my heart to loose it. It held its edge well and had a loud green handle. Just was a natural to have on me. Anyway, you stirred me up talking about the knives. Thanks for the memories of Dad's love for knives.

I have given each of my boys (4) and my oldest granddaughter's husband a Benchmade and plan to give each of my grandsons (7) one. I'll take a good knife over a stick of bologna any day.

In the early 1980’s, I was doing some sales calls in Butler County, PA. I noticed a lot of woodland with no trees over 40 years old, and no farm buildings, nor much machinery, less than 40 years old. One day I stopped in a feed store and got talking to the owner, who was the in his 70’s. He said the he and his brothers, at one time, had five grain elevators in Butler County. I asked what happened. He said that, after WWII, when farmer went heavily into tractors and wider machinery, “We could still grow more wheat per acre in Butler County than they could in Kansas, but they could grow more wheat per hour in Kansas.” The price of wheat fell and it was no longer profitable to grow wheat in PA. My understanding is that there is 1/3 less farmland tilled in PA than there was 100 years ago.

IRS guidelines for gifts. Cash items are taxable and must be tracked and recorded for taxing purposes. Example: I worked for IBM. Anything that had a cash value, IBM had to tax you for its cash value or they had to pay a fine. Win a Cross Pen and Pencil, IBM would have to pay you the value of the taxes so you could claim it on your taxes. Get a check from one of your clients, you had to claim its cash value on your Tax forms or face a fine if the IRS found out. IBM would also get fined if they didn't force you to claim the funds. Win a $2,500.00 cash value trip for two, IBM would have to add taxes to the 2,500 for another $250.00 to cover the taxes. So, IBM made it a rule that you could not accept anything over a cash value of $25.00 or you could loose your job..

Wow! With all the firewood you will get from your clearing, you should not have to buy any poles to cut up for this coming winter. You are blest! Hugs from N.C..❤️

Seville makes some fairly nice stuff for chinesium made. I have their maple top 6 leg adjustable work benches, and their stainless line of wall cabinets and tall storage cabinets . I agree on putting everything on wheels, helps utilize a space better.

I'm the same with gloves Mike... My friend sent me a pair of Westchester deerskin work gloves... He had them sent to me via USA, Canada, then on to me in Wales. Too nice to use so they stay in the drawer.

Love your channel, I've been watching for a while now. I just wanted to send you an idea.
How about documenting your clearing process with drone footage and share it with your channel. It would give us a better overview and feel of your progress. Its kind of hard to tell just from ground level footage. Maybe a job for Hunter?

I was counting the number of firewood pieces you were getting off the big cherry round. It was at 13 when you cut away, and you still had the 3 off cut pieces left to split, so at least 6 more. Not bad off of 1 round.

Don't know what it is but I watch your channel more than any other. You both seem to just keep it real and relaxing. Good job and keep it up!

I'm the same way with knives. I probably have 15-20 brand new knives of different brands and sizes in a drawer. They are still in the boxes and have never been used. I carry 2 knives every day: a SOG Escape and a field master swiss army knife. I use and like the field master so much I immediately ordered a new one when I lost my old one instead of just going to the drawer and picking out a new knife I already had. These knives do everything I need them to do, so "if it ain't broke don't fix it" I guess. I will continue carrying these 2 knives every day until/unless my needs change.

Well it's not like you're going to outgrow a knife. As long as your needs are covered save them to replace your knives that are in rotation when needed.
