Can you guys post the entirety of overdrive on CZcams please?
Anyone who thinks Sundin didn’t have grit is a turnip.
Sundin 1061 games 1046 pts
Gilmour 393 games 443 pts
How can you say Gilmour when he played like 5 seasons in Toronto....?
The game has changed fundamentally multiple times throughout the course of history, and as such, the criteria and players selected should reflect how dominant a player would have been in eras that they didn't play in. A guy like Sundin would have been a giant in the past, but like his idol, he'd face a ton of stickwork.
Glad to hear Jeff bring up Berard, I watched him with awe, such a talented and smart D man who is often overlooked. Even post injury he was able to stick in the league for awhile.
He also admitted to using steroids during his career.
Never saw Gilmore play but Sundin was a big time role model for Millennials
I saw both.
Gilmore was the more determined player. Sundin was all finesse, but no grit. Gilmore was amazing at every single aspect of the game. Sundin was good..... but only when he wanted to be.
Gilmour was unreal
@@chrism7898 I wouldn't necessarily say Sundin was a pure finesse player. Sure, he didn't throw hits like Gilmour, but Sundin was a mammoth of a player and was a load to handle down low and behind the net. He was so hard to knock off the puck and he used his size really well.
Sundin all the way. Best leaf player anc role model ever!
Left off the team is 2 of the 4.. 50 goal scorers the leafs have ever had.
Sundin was the longer serving, more consistent, more generally skilled Leaf. I really like Gilmour, and particularly admire his heart and toughness, but I have to give this one to Sundin.
The list that TSN has for all-time Leafs also isn't bad. If you were to have a third goalie I might have Curtis Joseph in there.
The team that they are talking about being the best ever is 2 teams that lost in the semifinals ? But for me A Bruins fan I would say Gilmore has to be on the team
If Mats Sundin would have had a bit of bite in his game and fought once in a blue moon, he would have been the most popular Leaf of all time.
He isn't now? Though I'm sure if we are talking about pure popularity maybe Bower takes the cake there, but if we are talking from a game and Leaf perspective I'd say Wendell or Dougie G would take it
The all time Leafs team is extremely underwhelming, for a franchise that’s been around for over a century.
I couldn't agree more but they are owned by an entertainment company and they are the most entertaining team in the NHL.
The Leafs all time team would defeat the Oilers all time team 8/10 times.

Gilmour best leaf player
Patrick Roy > Cary Price
Gilmour over Sundin.. based on impact o the game and team, Sundin is just not respected in T.O.
Uh.....what are you on about? Sundin is beloved by Leafs fans.
How come sports Broadcasters considered essential they should have to work at a Meat Packing plant (Murder Hornet's are on the Way Sports Casters)
They're at their houses, doing this through zoom or something.
Probably more essential than you think keeping a lot of people sane
More like 0 dog
Should have ended the vid at 3:50. Sundin or Gilmour are no longer talked about
Sundin won zero Cups. Gil our won one. Q.E.D.
Sure, Gilmour participated on a Stanley Cup winning team playing with prime Nieuwendyk, Joe Mullen, Hakan Loob, MacInnis, Suter, Fleury, etc.
Sundin had Antropov and Ponikarovsky....
Liam Kimberley Sundin did nothing for us. He was a great entertainer but when time came he couldn’t produce anything. He wanted a gold medal far more than the Cup. He was a flash in the pan. All talk but delivered no hardware. Big disappointment as so many after 1967.
@@MrNelsonThall fafe fan
Sundin was a great player but boring to watch though.
Wrong. Sundin played for crappy Leafs team. Most games Sundin would be the only player to show up
@@robwhitexp wrong. The only game I ever saw Sundin really show up was Sweden Vs Canada. He never put the effort in that Gilmore did.
Not even close.
Chris M you're so right. Team Sweden Sundin >>>> Leafs Sundin. It's like they were two totally different players. I remember during that Leafs playoff run where Roberts and Macauley were carrying the Leafs during Sundin's injury. The moment Sundin came back, they became flat. Watching Sundin was the most infuriating thing. He would only "bring it" during meaningless games (regular season) and be shockingly a different player during the playoffs.
One of the worst trades ever in leaf history was trading the heart Wendel Clark for Mats Sundin wow still hurts today.
Sundin is the all-time points leader in Leafs history. I'd say that trade turned out just fine for the Leafs.
