Sometimes a coffee goes a long way, especially here in Italy. Don't feel obliged in any way though, best of all would be to come to Tuscany and have one here with me!

With the cement mixer you should have put some hard rocks (6-8) the size of you clenched fist or slightly bigger with a cup or two of water and let it run for an hour with the doors closed and have lunch. By then most if not all the plaster/cement would have been cleared, no sweat.
If you add a little PVA (BondCrete aka Bondall) to the plaster mix while mixing. It stops or dramatically reduces colour bleed that you are having.
I think there should be an award for all the effort you have made for your Italian property. It's huge! I get tired just watching you work.
All the 'posh chateau owners' also forget to clean their mixers at some point, so you're in great company ;)
Forgetful bunch we are when Aperitif time rolls around!
I'm so happy that you're back and back making more video. Can't wait to see how the kitchen turns out!
If you add some rocks to the mixer and run it for 1 hr it Will loosen up a lot of the stuff inside, saving you some Labour
So glad to see you back in Tuscany. It is SO very beautiful there.
Love how you say let’s get going and the next shot is you in the pub! I love how you think !
You will get there. Working in that heat must be crippling. Looking forward to France.😊
a sweat band on the forehead would probably help a lot
The three P's! Plaster, Pizza and Phootball. Good stuff. Thanks for the update, always enjoy them. :)
The French have the 4 Ps which make you fat: Pain, Patate, Pâtes, Peritif
Great to see more progress on the holiday home. Looking forward to your visit to France! Thanks for sharing with us.
Glad the walls of the future kitchen in your house in Italy are finally getting done and looking better, and we were wondering how many languages do you speak, French, English ( of course) , Austrian? And Italian…?….as well as many different ( handyman) things you do…mechanic, plasterer, electrician, roofer, floor tile installer, bathroom plumbing….plus your day job…LOL 😂…Your more than a handyman, you are a magician….😮
I am pretty fluent in English German and French and can just about hold a conversation in Italian!
One of these days you will have a nice cool dry weekend for work.
Something to look forward to.
I don't know how it's done there, but here, when we have water stains, or any other stain that keeps bleeding through plaster and paint, we use a stain blocking primer before we paint. It is oil based so it needs time to dry. But so worth it.
Wall and window are looking great. That is going to be an amazing kitchen. Looking forward to France. Take care.
Your kitchen is really coming along. Like how you made pizza in iron pots See you in France 👏☘️
The trick with doing a smooth plastering job is to make very thick layers. If you think you put on a thick layer already, just make it more thicker before even starting to scrape for flatness. Just put a lot of material onto the wall very roughly. And when you run out of mixed plaster then you can start moving and flattening it.
It might help you to put lining paper over the walls. It’s a wallpaper that hides imperfections in plaster walls. Then you can paint them or wallpaper them. This also hides stains.
Great to see you back. I know its hot and hard work but you have made so much progress!! Looking forward to France. Xo
Grate some chalk. It will clean the window rub the chalk in with a cloth it devolves the extra putti on the glass. Great video
Really? I'll have to try that!
Great to see you back 👍👍👍
Good to see you back in Italy. It won't take much work to have the home in France rental ready, the drive there is probably the most taxing during those trips, and this coming from the retired tour manager and yes I do love European architecture etc.
Being back in NZ, while walking through the small towns/villages, especially at night, I often envisage cowboys galloping through due to the nature of the wooden stores which appear frozen in time early settler era.
The walls of our five-year young apartment complex are the length of my hand in depth and not insulated, compared to historical buildings in Europe where walls are as we see in your videos quite thick.
Remember to take care of your health, siesta!
Love the pizza oven! Enjoyed. The kitchen will be great. Nice job on the window also. Blessings
A damp spunge run over the cement will smoth it out. Thank you for letting us watch you plaster!! ❤😊
That is definitely a window regulator that is stopping the window from moving. My husband and I have replaced loads of those in our old cars.
Oooh the dough and the sauce on the pizza looks amazing ❤
Great job. I’m really looking forward to seeing your progress in France. A bien tot.
2 projects in 2 different countries that sucks and so many bad memories in the France house. Good luck god speed
It is sweltering here in Southern Italy, and I enjoyed your rain vicariously. 🥵
Maybe use a damp car sponge to smooth out your plaster? Enjoying the journey!
Excited to see the French property again!
Always good to see you 😊
That pizza looked delicious. Well done. 👏👏
Oh, it might help to use a damp sponge on the walls after 30 minutes to get some bumps out.
Always enjoy watching your progress. Great looking window👍. Thanks for sharing with us. 😊
Definitely looking more like a room now, well done!
I give you credit for working in the heat. I'm laying under a fan with the air conditioner on praying the power doesn't go out. We're having a terrible heat Wave here in central California. 116 today 117 tomorrow I know you guys do Celsius so I guess that would be 46 & 47 degrees. Can't wait for you to go back to the other property. They're both very lovely homes.
Great video, heat, rain and pizza. What a great combo. Now conserve energy for the french schlep.
No rush, another day, then another year, then "the rapture" 😂
Well done, great effort.
Just imagine when you return to Villa "del Rose" How nice those kitchen walls are going to look. You should be so proud of all the work you have put in. It is going to be so nice and finished one day.
Oh back to France? I can't wait. Will the family go this time? Some day the boys will love to visit. If you keep it and rent it out maybe you can book your own vacation there. I am sure there are companies in area that will manage the property for you as an investment rental.
We're all going this time, but there's a lot to do!
Good to see you. I'll be waiting for France.
Keep up the good work 👍🤗 see you in the next one in France 🤗👍 🍻
Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
glad your back and getting some more work done. Sorry it is so hot!
I like how they cook pizzas with those cast iron pans, have to look out for some!
They are a local thing
Thankfully the cats can look for another home.
That is looking great 👍
So enjoying watching your progress. Hopefully you may be there when we pass through your village. We are walking thCia Francigena in September. Watching from South Australia 😂
Should be there very early September
Black stuff is basically tar - like from cigarettes but instead of tobacco it’s from chestnuts and whatever was used to smoke them
options are to seal it in good idea from comment above to add bondcrete to plaster or try and wash it out with detergent and high pressure hose - it should dry pretty well in all that heat
I tried pressure washing, no dice
The plaster looks great
Great job and what a lovely window!
Thank you! 😊
Wait a sec, she was there, the neighbor? I must have missed something. I never miss a video. At least she's putting a little effort in.
Yes, she was there when the old schoolhouse was pulled down..
It’s ok mate it is what it is see you in your next video 🍻🍻🍻👍✌️🤙
Ahhhh such a shame Italy 🇮🇹 LOST Ralf 😁, and I know why ? You didn’t put PINEAPPLE on their Pizzas 😂, all traditional Italian football players love Pineapple Ralf is well known fact 😉.
Aluminum pain covers stains, then ain’t your top coat. Only apply to the stained area.
*** paint. Please try it, for seapage
The kitchen is coming along. It will be a wonderful space! I loved watching you make pizza in the park. Are there always fires going for pizza making or is it certain days/times?
Ah, "the park" is in fact one of the neighbour's gardens
How are the tires on the golf doing.
Tires are still good, it doesn't do many miles
1. Kitchen coming along nicely.!!
2. I may have missed it, but how did you ever get that mixer into the house??
3. Pizza looked delish! Thanks for sharing how they make it with the original pizza ovens.
4. You must be a heat lover because they’d be scraping me off the floor! Don’t know how you do it!
5. Irritating that your neighbor left without addressing you and house issues! For such a seemingly nice and close community, her behavior is baffling and frankly, not nice.
6. We rarely see it, but it was nice to see you laugh, even though briefly. Maybe “laugh” wasn’t it, more of a small chuckle.( when you were driving and said it would be aperitif time shortly)
7. Glad you allowed yourself some leisure time by watching the game and chilling. Nobody deserves that more than you!!!!!!!
Hi Christine, the mixer fits through the door quite easily! Thanks for the encouragement!
@@NotUselessYet yes, but how did you get it up stairs? Please don’t tell me you carried it yourself!
@@christineharmon6129 Yes, I carried it
@@NotUselessYet seriously, do you have a death wish?! I want you to live to enjoy all the fruits of your labor! You can’t see that beautiful view from inside a coffin! ❤
I don’t know about others but l am getting confused as to where you are at times! Am I correct in saying you have a house in Italy, a house in France and one in Austria?? And if so which is your main home?? Why so many different countries??
Very interesting videos indeed!!
Start with his first video and you won't be confused. They are all very interesting.
So, I live in Austria, in Innbruck now, but I grew up in London and lived in France for many years. The house in France is where I used to live, and in Italy is our holiday home because its "only" 4 and a bit hours from Innsbruck
may I ask what camera you vlog into or is an iphone - seems very stable footage.
It's just my iphone, 12 or 13 I think
What ever happened to your kitchen design submissions ?
I'll get them all out a little closer to finishing the walls and doors
I'm wondering, isn't there the risk of the wooden beams getting moldy after so many months wrapped up in plastic? Does anybody know the answer so that I can calm my anxiety 😅?
I have looked under the plastic, and they look fine
@@NotUselessYet Great! Thank You! 😄 (The kitchen is going to be awesome 👍!! ...although I would put a rustic vintage traditional wooden table instead of the island but that's my taste...I also understand islands are useful if one doesn't want to have too much wall space used up by cabinets)
I wonder if bleach would take the color out of the 'brown stuff'. Might try spraying some diluted laundry bleach from a cheap plastic spray bottle.
The brown stuff is from the room being smoker for curing meats. Bleach prob wont help.
It would be nice of you to respond to our comments. Part of the job of being a CZcamsr. 😉
Hi, I do regularly try and respond to comments, as and when I have time!
why don't you cover those walls in the kitchen with plaster boards? woud'nt that be easyer ?
It would be easier, faster and nicer.
Easier and faster, perhaps...but not nicer as far as I'm concerned. He is renovating an old building and wonky walls go with the territory.
Easier but you'd be hiding a problem. Better to keep an eye on it.
The walls are not very straight, so you would end up losing a massive amount of space, and it would need a pretty serious framework with the height.
@@rb9580 Well, he either makes it straight or don't. One is done well, the other one is just bad work. "Wonky" isn't nice.
An old authentic wall CAN BE nice and not because it was done badly :) (They didn't cover the rocks not so long ago because it was nice, but because it was cheap and practical to hide dirty, stained rocks.)
If I remember correctly it is a stone wall. He could have just repoint it. And clean the rocks. That would have been nice. A bad plastering isn't nice.
I didn't mean to sound offending or anything like that. We just have a very different opinion about this :)
Have a nice day!
