The Lennox fans will tell you that Mike payed him off.. or offered ‘stay away’ money.. but the truth is, Lennox dodged Mike for many years before and after that. He finally decided to fight mike after he was completely done. Drugged up, washed up, no will to fight. Lennox will always be the most over rated heavyweight in the history of boxing.

The greatest and most tactical heavy weight champion in my opinion. He is undisputably the best ever boxer to employ the deadly uppercut. A rough Competitor and at his peak, he could defeat any boxer he met.

@@trueultimagod2465 it's without a doubt true that the heavyweight division was tougher in the 90s compared to the modern era. All you have to do is compare the top ten then to now, it's plain to see and Lewis conquered them all and more! Fury hasn't even achieved that yet, he needs to beat AJ and Usyk to prove total dominance over the current crop, but he won't.
Styles combined, I think Lewis had the speed, power and footwork advantage. Furys size would've been his main advantage going into the fight, only way I see Fury winning that fight is by grinding Lewis down, similar to what he did against wilder in the 2nd and 3rd fight.
The difference is, Lewis would stay out of the way with superior footwork resulting in most likely a points win for Lewis in my opinion.

I must say this Lennox Lewis dominated his era. He dominated 3 different eras of boxing.

Guys today are not as Good as the 90s, but they are bigger
Tyson however is very different to the modern lumps. He is huge, but has unnatural speed, stamina and movement for a man his size and obviously he has some power when he sits on his shots. He also has great recovery when hurt and an abundance in heart
Now if you had to create a perfect heavyweight then lennox is as close to as you can come up with. He's as big as modern guys, but he is even more athletic and much more experienced. His I.q is off the charts and only fury can match him. He has been knocked out twice, but contrary to belief he has a very solid chin. He was just caught with 2 very hard shots. A heavyweight with a glass jaw doesn't take hits from,

This is what I say about Fury compared to greats of other generations. His resume simply doesn't stack up in terms of accomplishments in the ring YET. That being said, would he be favored to win against pretty much anybody? I think he would be. We've never seen a fighter this big and this good. I personally don't buy the retirement talk. I think when it's all said and done he fights the winner of AJ Usyk.
His accomplishments will never stack up simply because he's in a weak era of Heavyweights. Lennox fought in the second golden age of HW boxing and beat killers. Even if Fury beats Usyk it won't be enough to cement legacy as one of the greats.

Lewis was know for winning fights by keeping people at the end of his jab, usually with a reach advantage - his reach is less than Fury's. He was always punching down at opponents - Fury's 3-4 inches taller. He was usually the heacuer man - he wouldn't be. His footwork and head movement were worse than Fury's.

LLewis was the last great boxer who simply had everything, punching power, a good jab, good combinations and durability and as for the fight against TFury ? To compare Fury with Lewis is a joke...Fury wouldn't have lasted 5 rounds...The Heavyweight division is the worst it has been for 20 years...when you see the likes of Usyk, Ruiz, Wilder, Joshua and Fury as champions, we know how bad this division is....

Lennox was the best of his era, that’s an historical fact. Fury is good but has a bit more to do to get into the same league. Beating the winner of Joshua/Usyk II for undisputed would be a good start. Retiring early after beating what he called a “punch bag on legs” is not the way to do it. If you want to retire Fury, good luck to you but, don’t ever try and put yourself in the same league as Lennox.
Fury doesn't, never has, and never will, compare himself to anyone else.

Joshua has zero ring IQ, zero initiative needs everything spelling out to him, and is just an image of boxing.
Wilder is a extremely dangerous heavy weight based on his obscene power and might, "he would be champion once Tyson Fury truly leaves)
Tyson Fury is impressive but has a very weak calibre of opponents (Wilder 3 times and Kitchko once when he was over the hill)
Usyk is a very clever boxer but is not a true heavy weight and would get caught out when he faces someone with a similar ring IQ and skillset that's bigger than him (More likely Fury)
Lennox would obliterate all of them in his Prime. the same with Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield.
