- This is my idea how to check Baro Alarm in your Casio G-Shock Triple Sensor watch.
I used my Rangeman but I got borrowed Gulfmaster form my friend (thank you Kyo) and as you can see the result - this Gulfmaster works perfectly :)

Will the altimeter work under water?
Since it calculates the altitude with the help of the barometer which measures atmospheric pressure and when the watch is underwater the surrounding atmosphere is water instead of air. How accurate will the result be that the altimeter will show based on calculations using barometric data?
I curiously submerged my GWG-1000 Mudmaster in a bucket 🪣 of water and checked the altitude which recorded 45 meters and the altitude of the place where i was conducting this experiment was 270 meters. Now, I am curious to know what result this altimeter will show and its accuracy while diving in the sea 🤿🌊 when i will also have a depth meter to compare the results.

Hmmm very good question. I think but I am not sure that if tones are OFF Alarm Baro will be ON. I think it will be the same situation as with Alarms.

I think that if ProTrek is a Triple Sensor watch it should work the same. If in Baro function you have option for enable Alarm Baro - this is it. Alarm Baro is working for 24 hours - later it is disabled automatically. In this 24 h you are not able to performance radio calibration of time.
The sensor is going to inform you about suddenly weather changing. It should also work in elevator ;) when you can check how it works. Of course when you are traveling by car in mountains the sensor can also inform you about preassure changing. I think it is a great tool which works pretty well in predicting the sudden weather change :)

Hello. I have had my new Rangeman for a week now. I have noticed that the barometric graph never shows a consistent pressure pattern. I do understand that the graph measures in 2 hour increments. I drive trucks at work, so the watch is always in motion. I guess that's why there's never a consistent pattern. The graph is all over the place, but the digital reading is constant and the alarm works fine. Any suggestions?

I think that you are right - you are in motion and you drive through different heights.
I think that you can try to set date on the main screen for 24 h and than see the graph. Most users do not know that if graph is set on the main display it is not consistent. But when you set a date for 12-24 h and then see the graph it will looks much better.

Any idea why my barometer is inaccurate? The weather outside can be sunny with no clouds and hot as a oven but my barometer shows a decline in the readings...obviously it's not working very well😑
Hello and thank you for your comment and visiting my channel. It is very strange. In fact I have not seen such situation and even read about it. Have you checked if your baro hpa numbers are accurate? Maybe you should check the values on the internet or something and compare them? It is the only thing which came into my mind .... Even if the sensor would be down, you should see ERR on the screen...
Hi, just want to ask if the baro will predict in advance (maybe a couple of hours ahead) or just a few minutes? Cause I want to know ahead of time for example maybe in 4to6 hours a storm is coming or maybe in 12hours. Or is there an option for this? Thanks in advance and more power to your channel!😀

I had few GW-9400 and what I can tell is that for sure it is not 12 hours, I would say it would be something arround maybe 1 hour.... What I can also say is that it works fine for me and many times I was notified that the storm is comming :)

if the alarm is on, and the watch is now in the normal mode (hour/date), the alarm (in case of a barometric pressure change) still function properly?
Chilean Hunter hi and Thank you for your comment. Yes the Baro alarm is on in a Time kemping Mode after tuning it on. As far as I remember it Will be on for next 24 hours and next it will turn off automaticly. Thank you very much for your comment. All the best

+Duurenbayar Ragchaadorj adjust to set the watch, than Mode to Unit set and then Reverse to change C to F :) that is all you need to do. All the best
How do you set the tempture accurate
you need to use a standard - another thermometer and calibrate the watch's readings based on it. Just remember to keep the reference thermometer and watch next to each other in one place for 30 minutes. This watch has a very sensitive sensor and it is best to check after calibration whether the reading is OK (just holding the watch in your hand may cause slight errors - then you should calibrate again, just to be sure). No problem :)
You can wash your hands, take a bath/shower, swim in a lake, sea, ocean with this watch..... nothing will affect it. The only thing you should remember is to avoid using buttons under the water ;)
If sensor will be damadged you will see ERR when you try tu use it ;)
Please set your watch with the date on a main display and check baro graph after 48 hours and let me know.

You asked some difficult questions and I am afraid that I will not be able to answer them all ;)
But - if you enable Alarm Baro it is active for 24 hours, after this time it is automaticly off. In this 24 hours you are not able to use automatic and manual time calibration.
If sensor recognize a significant change of pressure the alarm will turn on - you will see and hear it as on this clip. Unfortunately I do not know exactly value for such pressure.

It means that when alarm baro is on, for next 24 hours baro sensor will inform you about the preasure changes - it will beeb and shows you the weather tendency ;) you will know when the storm is coming and when the sun is going to shine ;)

Thanks for your great experiment. I have one question though: why did you imply that people would be afraid to try this experiment out? The whole process seems harmless enough for especially a rugged watch like GW9400. Or am I missing something here?
The reason why I asked is because I have OCD... After following your instructions in the main part of the video and having done the experiment myself, your "warning" came at the end of the video and started to get me worried that the sensors could be delicate and I might potentially have broken something by giving it too much pressure by blowing into the plastic bag :-(

I said about precautions only for one reason - I wanted to avoid any complains that maybe someone has broke the watch ;) for me it is harmless experiment but you know maybe someone's watch was damadged before the experiment and then he could write that it is because of me.
The same situation was in GA-100 test. I am using buttons under the water and everythig is ok. but you know, every watch is different and I just want to avoid any compains, that is all ;)

Dziwna sprawa mam ten zegarek od sam nie wiem 2-3 miesięcy, kupiłem nowy nic nie było katowane, dzisiaj tak z ciekawości spojrzałem na barometr ze względu na pogodę - co kilka godzin zmieniającą się a na zegarku nic 1007ha cały dzień, a w między czasie były 2 burze, było słońce, padało, i nic na barometrze nie pokazywało - żadnych zmian. Patrzę na wysokościomierz i tak jak zawsze tutaj wysokość gdzie jestem jest 120m na zegarku pokazuje Minus 30metrów. Wkurzyłem się właśnie zrobiłem ten test co tutaj na filmiku i... ciśnienie zmieniło się z 1007ha na 1011ha zero reakcji... Sprzęt chyba zepsuty?

Nie pamiętam dokładnie co ile barometr dokonuje pomiaru. Ale jeżeli test pokazał, że sensory reagują, to raczej działają.... Może warto zrobić tak, jeżeli zapowiadają gwałtowne burze itp. to włącz alarm baro i wtedy zobaczysz czy coś się zmienia we wskazaniach - czy zegarek będzie informował o zmianach pogody.
@@MatejMatejGShock Spróbuje jeszcze dziś teraz taki tydzień to co kilka godzin jakaś burza przechodzi praktycznie. Ale przyznam że wczoraj mocno się zdziwiłem że fakt nie miałem alarmu baro włączonego, ale żeby różnica przez cały dzień z 1006ha na 1007ha, a po włożeniu do woreczka z 1007ha na 1011ha. Nie wiem jaka by musiała być to burza chyba 100 lecia :) Sprawdzałem ciśnienie na smartwatchu huawei gt2e wieczorem, to gdy na gw9400 było wspomniane 1007ha tam było 1006ha, czyli niby się zgadza jednak czy taki smartwatch prawidłowo to podaje, też nie jestem pewny. Ogólnie aż tak nie mam "świra" na punkcie tych odczytów, ale aktualnie szkoda właśnie że ten alarm baro nie specjalnie działa bo planowałem dziś dłuższą wycieczkę i niby mają być burze ale tak to przynajmniej miałbym chwilę żeby szybciej wrócić do domu ale no nie mam teraz zaufania do tego sprzętu (sprawdzałem jak w filmiku z woreczkiem i nic nie pikało). Ogólnie dziwne, bo wcześniej widziałem że te wartości normalnie działały. Zegarek nie był bity, rzucany, czy jakoś męczony, obecnie to tyle co na spacery z psem chodziłem, czy normalnie po domu, czy na miasto, słowem zero "stresu". Dodatkowo dodam że co do wysokościomierza, po skalibrowaniu, pokazuje różnicę wysokości tzn. Na dworze pokazuje 120m, w domu na piętrze 123/124 więc to działa. Dziwna sprawa. Właśnie ze względu na tą burzę mnie to dziwi, że nie było totalnie żadnych z mian w ciśnieniu, czy byłem na dworze czy w domu. :(
Jasne, rozumiem Twoje rozczarowanie - ale spróbuj proszę z tym alarmem baro, włącz go już teraz żebyś nie zapomniał (tylko pamiętaj, że po 24h on sam się wyłącza i gdy jest włączony to nie działa radiowa kalibracja czasu). Trzymam kciuki, żeby było ok.

I'm unable to get the Alarm to go off when its on Timekeeping mode. It only goes off when using the bag trick when on the Barometer mode when turned on. Does it only work if you keep it on the Barometer mode?

If you mean Alarm Baro - as far as I remember it shoudl also work in Timekeeping function also - you shoud hear the alarm and see arrow of weather prediction.
I have to tell you that my GW-9400 is more on the shelf then my wrist lately ;)

Please let me know - if you use elevator you can also check. As far as I remember you can put the watch into a bath (not great depth is necessery, the alarm should turn on even on a shallow depth).

Hi i have problem, my barometer on gw9400 is not working anymore, it stays still on single number, everything else does work well temp, alt, compas etc

Unfortunately the only reset I know is getting out the battery in this model.
But can you tell me how your watch is set in time keeping mode? I mean do you have date or baro graph all the time? If you have baro graph, please change it to date. Leave it in such set for next 48 hours and check again. Maybe the pressure values changed rapidly and this is the problem?
@@MatejMatejGShock in time keeping mode barometer graph works as usually ( graph dots are moving up and down depending on pressure and its ok) when i enter barometer mode, dots on graph works as well, but value is standing on 1001 hPa and value wont change, i don't know why, it should be going up or down as pressure changes, like how that possible that dots register that change and value doesnt change? Thanks for help
Hmmm very strange. I have to admit that if sensor is broken ERR can be seen while using sensor. I have not seen broken sensor without ERR. Maybe you should change value manually and see if this would help? I am sorry but I do not know what to write. It never happened before.

My observation is that in 90 % this baro alarm works perfectly few minutes before the storm/pressure goes down. If the alarm is on, you will hear it every time when such situation appear. On the display you will also see the "arrow" up or down.

For me GW-9400 is one of the best G-Shock ever. But as everyone has its weak point. It is the way of assemble strap to the case - lugs are made of plastic and I can tell you that you should rather wear it not too tide. If this watch is too tide, you can broke lugs during massive impact. And then the only wat you can choose is to buy a new case which is very expensive. I had nine GW-9400 or even more and never had problem with strap/case.
Of course the damadge situations are rather minor so I think you shoud not be afraid only be happy and use this amazing G-Shock :)

Normally it could happen when you have Baro Alarm ON - then driving some hills can turn alarm on and you can hear beeping.
@@MatejMatejGShock i not knowingly turned it on, it starts beeping when im driving maybe the pressure inside the car changes. I watched the instructions on youtube lately to turn it off.

If you see ERR I think that the module or sensor has to be changed.

No this isn't the easiest way! The easiest way is to hold the adjustment button and change it to really high or really low and when you confirm your settings it will sound the alarm with an arrow pointing up or pointing down

I am not saying that it is something wrong, but you should write about it for other users (not all of them have such knowledge...)

It means Water resist 20 Bar so we can assume that it is 200 m. You can dive with this watch :)
