Yes, I remember this, Toonzai and Vortexx were one of my favorite saturday morning blocks, I remember watching shows like Cubix, Tai Chi Chasers, Dragon Ball Z Kai, Magi Nation, B Daman Crossfire, Digimon Fusion, Bolts and Blip, WWE Saturday Morning Slam, Iron Man Armored Adventures, Power Rangers Lost Galaxy and Rescue Heroes, but my three absolute favorites are Sonic X, the original Yu-Gi-Oh and Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal, seriously, those shows were awesome
I grew up on those blocks too bro.
This was an era
@@chrisrockett5897 the blocks were great man!
Bro I can’t believe there’s other ppl who grow up in the same childhood as I did. I would’ve felt alone without the internet XD
@@TSQNYEArchive673 yes I loved Vortexx when I was growing up.
I would go to my friends house in the morning to watch vortexx with him good times
Me too my cousin Emil and I watched vortexx when I was little.
It’s aimed at boys
@@LogoMan.8924 so...
@@Jay1212-w4s It’s because they have WWE, Yu Gi Oh, Dragon Ball Z Kai, Sonic X, The Spectacular Spider Man & more
@@LogoMan.8924 i don't think it matters, anyone can enjoy it
Kid me was so heartbroken to see Vortexx replaced by One Magnificent Morning. Absolute bull
The cw4kids toonzai got me into anime when I was younger and it change my life forever. That is how I got into anime like dragon ball sonic x and yu gi oh.
I never thought this would've been the present. No more Saturday morning kids shows. I remember growing every Saturday morning, pouring up a bowl of cereal and watching some Saturday morning cartoons on the local tv channels. All of us did as a matter of fact in each of ours rooms. My brothers watched Yu Gi Oh, me and my sis would maybe watch busytown mysteries or Kirby, or Sonic X.
I should watch vortexx but I was paying attention to Nickelodeon cartoon Network and boomerang Disney and Disney Junior and Disney XD HBO
@@marteekaugustin6191 I always watched the Saturday morning channels because they played shows that would only play on Saturday morning. Either that or reruns of shows that don't play on their original channel anymore.
It was sonic x for me
Same with me and my brother.
@@venicethehedgehog4122 Sonic X was the bomb. You felt like a cool kid when watching it. At least I did.
I really miss The CW4Kids, would always tune on the CW21 every morning, it was like a religious rule for me. I was too obsessed I know. Was there when it changed from the regular CW4Kids logo, to Toozai, and then to Vortexx. I miss those times. When I return to school, me and my friends we always talk about what happened on the shows we watched. Hell, even our school had a 4kids promo flier, no joke.
Every since then I only watch yu gi oh only on Saturday mornings
2:11 said "the following feature contains mature themes and situations"
Also the CW affiliet's name was "CW 69"
Coinsidents i thing NOT!
I grew up with Vortex The CW! I remember vividly watching Cubix and Yu Gi Oh and Power Rangers.
I remember the ending of Vortexx
I watched That when i was a kid
If only they become cable kids channels.
Well Cookie Jar TV had programming that complied with EI until 2013 when the block shut down

Idk why litton killed Saturday morning blocks
@@daneisdelacruz1026 the CTA and E/I rules
I still remember when Vortexx was removed I didn't know a single thing about it, I sat there wondering what happened so weeks after weeks every Saturday I'd go and check only to be disappointed it was sad :/
Ah Toonzai, the block that was notorious for airing the same 3 episodes of DBZ Kai and Sonic X ad infinitum. Edit: it's been 10 years in the Shadow Realm, rest in peace Toonzai
As well as infinite Zexal ads.
To be honest it's 2023 there's no way I think it won't come back again with Cw4kids and Toonzai, and Vortex I really miss those old times. I did watch all those 3 channels names on Saturday mornings. What's really sad is that I miss so many episodes of thoses shows I didn't get a chance to see all episodes completely. It feels heart broke less seen something that we like that goes away so quickly without saying goodbye or something. I wish they could come back I miss this old times shows.
Vortex likely got discontinued cuz of a lack of advertising.
@SpaceBlox oh ok
True maybe the contract ends around 2022
I only discovered Vortexx in it last year, but remember CW 4 kids kinda of. I was always more into Nick or CN. If i'd known ahead of time that Vortexx was going to be an end to a decades long tradition, I was would've watched more.
That's Surprising, The CW For Kids debuted Around the same time I was born and was was rebranded to vortexx around the time my sister was born
That's actually rlly dope
The Vortexx, the swan song of Saturday morning cartoon blocks.
There were so many circumstances during the Saturday Morning era.
i watched the last broadcast. pretty sure the last show was yugioh zetzel, i had zero clue. the following saturday it was all the "i/e" stuff i was really shocked
I watched Toonzai and Vortexx on CW 56 and 4Kids TV on WFXT 25 FOX
I hated that power rangers was removed so early they could've added more older seasons
Anyone remember KidsClick? That existed.
And nobody cared `cause they were all watching CN, Nick, and Disney via streaming services.
Yeah. It was short though.
I never thought that no more sat. Morning kids channel
I was there in the beginning of Saturday morning cartoon block of the 90s and the end in 2014. And some of the shows were a bit dark but they kept it real for a kids show.
Toonzai and Vortexx were just more action/anime blocks that tried to keep the spirit of daily broadcast anime and actions shows that the crown jewel that was toonami had alive back during that time
Request: The Return of Saturday Morning Cartoons (History of MeTV)
You should do the history of NBC Kids it ran from 2012-2016 if I remember right
@Medora, I consider the Cw/Toonzai/Vortex more of a successor to Kids' Wb than of Fox Kids.
Yeah, The CW4Kids was kind of like the lovechild of 4Kids TV and Kids' WB.
@@medora2499 If 4Kids Entertainment (later renamed to 4Licensing Corporation) hadn't got into this sticky situation that led to them filing for bankruptcy and shutting down on on February 7, 2017, one thing that they could have done better to stay in float would have been to launch a 24/7 free-to-air 4Kids TV channel, and of course, immediately give the profits to both TV Tokyo and Nihon Ad System respectively.
@@RiveraMichael4567 Very good idea, Mike!
@@medora2499 Thanks. Having a 24/7 free-to-air 4Kids TV channel would have been one of the perfect factors to help the 4Kids TV brand survive. Take what Qubo did for example; it started out as a series of programming blocks on NBC, Telemundo, and Ion Television in September 2006, and then eventually became its own channel in January 2007. Sure Qubo may not be popular and also mainly focuses on E/I programming, but at least it went the extra mile by becoming its own channel. Unfortunately, Qubo itself was discontinued on June 30-July 1, 2012 (NBC and Telemundo blocks) and February 28, 2021 (Ion block and 24/7 channel) respectively.
By the way, if you didn't know, even when the CW4Kids was renamed into Toonzai, the CW4Kids brand wasn't eliminated, but rather retained as a sub-brand all the way through the end of the block's run in order to fulfill branding obligations per 4Kids Entertainment's contract to lease The CW's Saturday morning time slots.
@@medora2499 I Like The Music What Is It Called?
I wish someone could go back in time watch your Saturday mornings cartoon
Do KidsClick(2017-2019) it was known as The Real Last Non-E/I Block
Mark this one freaking day! September 27, 2014, the day where Litton and E/I destroyed the entire television of kids. ABC, you should have keep the Saturday Morning Block, ABC Kids alive. So More like One Worst Morning to me. Fox, after 4Kids TV was canceled and moved to The CW, you can at least revived the famous Fox Kids programming.
Amazing!
It is both Vortexx and Toonzai.
Thanks. I like this video.👍
Kids Click would be really interesting.
In the era of streaming, that thing was bound for failure from the get go.
I WANT SATURDAY-MORNING CARTOONS TO MAKE A COMEBACK ON BRODCAST TV!!!!
Great video
Vortex was lit
Spectacular Spider-Man, Sonic X and DBZ Kai are my top 3 shows
And I was very angry when vortex got replaced with One Magnificent Morning total utter garbage 🗑
There was a Saturday morning block that ended 2 years after vortexx discontinued, it’s the sprout block of nbc, NBC Kids
I think by Saturday Morning block he meant non educational ones not like NBC Kids
@@Quartzer. oh ok
After Vortexx ended its run, NBC Kids was the last remaining block to be carried on Saturday morning until 2016. I made a video about the death of NBC Kids back in 2016.

Medora Entertainment, I got good news: Me-TV is bringing back Saturday Morning Cartoons in 2021.
They are? How?
@@medora2499 well, to my knowledge, MeTV able to got the broadcast rights to ‘Theatrical’ Cartoons from WarnerMedia (meaning that they also got the rights to the classic Looney Tunes cartoons which last seen on Local TV in 2000) after since they got the Broadcast rights of the Flinstones last year. And they gonna have a Weekday Morning Hosted Show “Toon in With Me” featuring theatrical cartoons from WarnerMedia Library (the Host were Bill Leff and a Fish Puppet named Toony) and didn’t forget to mention that they somehow also got the rights of the Betty Boop Cartoons from Paramount I think. That’s all I could think of

By the time Toonzai was on, I had pretty much outgrown Saturday morning cartoons. I was watching anime illegally just like everyone else after Toonami ended because I got to watch whatever I wanted without commercials or censorship. I really liked watching DBZ Kai with a friend of mine to laugh at the ridiculous censorship. It was about the only fun to be had with the original TV airing of DBZ Kai with how censored that was, too.
Could you do the history of cartoon network's failed preschool block, tickle u?
I agree I remember watch a bit of vortexx
Where’s history of Cartoon Network? Please work on it when you get back.
There was a new Saturday morning cartoon block in the 2000s
i miss vortex, i was young when it ended so one week i think it finished its air and it never appeared again i dont think :/ i miss it
SCREW LITTON, I really miss Saturday Morning Blocks, I thought that Vortexx should have continued to run.
Finally Medora does network history again.
@Eat My Shorts ehh they are boring.
@Eat My Shorts Bro really Nick on CBS? No offense to Medora anything but that's least important of all of them.
@Eat My Shorts You're totally right and opinions and opinion but honestly Nick on CBS really wasn't that important to me well because unlike the other channels it doesn't have diversity in its lineup it literally just has Nickelodeon shows.
@Eat My Shorts Well it was a stupid gimmick to start with. Honestly I don't even know why CBS agreed. First of all there's already Nickelodeon that distributes the shows so I mean they're going to have some e/i content on there already. Also CBS is probably the place I'd least expect any type of cartoon content. I don't know what ViacomCBS was thinking, but this had no legacy effect and little nostalgia to me.
@Eat My Shorts true.
I don't know if you guys remember and old action video clips series episodes called Maximum Exposure since 2001 all the way ended in 2003 with season 1,2,3 that's all. It showed tornadoes, action car crashes, awesome explosion, skate board stunts, surfing, skydiving, all that stuff I mean.
Feels like yesterday.

Why not talk about Kids Click? This is a block on THISTV that attempted to revive Saturday Morning Cartoons. It lasted 2017-2019 before being discontinued.
I remember this TV but got shut down kids click got shut down too
Actually kids click aired on sinclair broadcast group station s
Are used to watch the block it was called Discovery kids on discovery Familia this block was in Spanish on the channel named discovery familiar people who had dish and DIRECTV Got it
When Toonzai was launched they still had the CW4Kids name.
Yep, it was called The CW 4Kids Toonzai.
@@TSQNYEArchive673 Until tho it was called Vortexx 2012-2013-2014
Only if Fox rebuys 20th Century Studios, then they would relaunch Freeform as Fox Family Channel and revive the FoxBox.

I do miss both... This is where I watched Sonic X for CW4Kids.
This block helped me watch televised transformers prime i was happy and bolts and blip reminded me when my best friend saw bolts and blip. CURSE LINTON ENTERTAINMENT!!
What a coincidence. I literally was just watching vortexx bumpers before this lol.
I did grow up both toonzai and vortexx as a kid, and they were both fun! I also grew up nbc kids, but I never found it as good as the other two. And while I am sad they're not here anymore, it is still fun rewatching the promos and bumpers that both had. And this video did relive my nostalgia of both toonzai and vortexx.
These weren’t the last of fox kids the last of it was kidsclick on the CW from 2017-2019
Best thing from Vortexx
WWE Saturday Morning Slam and Digimon Fusion
I never watched Vortexx or WWE show but I am a mega fan of WWE itself
I miss Toonzai and vortexx sat morning blocks
@Medora I just saw you're noggin video and I really enjoyed it . I guess it would also make sense for Noggin to rebrand to Nick jr due to how every show that was on the Nick Jr. block was on Noggin . So Noggin was basically Nick Jr. the channel . If you still wanted to watch your favorite shows on Nick Jr after the block ended , you had to go to the Noggin channel .
What Is This Music playing In The Background
when vortexx was killed in 2014, NBC Kids was still around
When that time Pokemon left the Saturday morning timeslot it was pretty much doomsday for the entrie genre. Imo.
I just want to tell you that a person named "Medora entertainment 2" is actually copying your channel.
It was confusing when there were separate names of Cw4kids AND 4Kidstv 😆
Up to this day i still have the scars on those Channels and it's suddenly demise. If it wasn't for their[FCC] strict regulations, they will stay a little longer...
Please talk about Saban Brands from it's Repuchase of Power Rangers from Disney, to the Americanization of Precure renamed Glitter Force, to selling themselves to Hasbro.
You should do the history of ABC kids
Ahh yes I I remember toonzai and the vortex I’ve been with the block ever since the beginning back when it was kids WD I still Remember The commercial announcing that it was changing to the CW 4kids i’ve also been with the block During the end when the vortex shut it down Ahh yes I remember the last Sunday The vortex aired i tuned next Saturday and there was nothing there then I realize Saturday morning cartoons were dead it’s really sad to see the Saturday morning blocks go
We have streaming now. Way more convenient.

Wrong word: WD
Right word: WB
I was little and thought nothing of the one magnificent morning thing and the cartoons never came back😔
Toonzai and Vortexx was doing very well. So why did those blocks have to be discontinued.
PBS Kids That's Why!
If management of the block improved, then it would have lasted longer. Rather than putting Sonic X on repeat too many times, they could air Sonic Underground or rerun older seasons of Pokémon starting on Battle Frontier. Also, they can air more programs previously locked to higher-tier pay TV networks like Digimon Data Squad. There were several shows on Vortexx that didn't have their runs completed; particularly Power Rangers Lost Galaxy and Iron Man Armored Adventures. The block could have returned those programs to finish in its entirety. Dragon Ball Z Kai finished its last episodes, but not airing GT reruns or premiering DBZ Kai Final Chapters was a wasted opportunity; instead Vortexx reran Kai, with their final broadcast day showing the episode where Planet Namek explodes for real.
Now with Vortexx gone, I had to move on to Toonami on adult swim as it's also a Saturday animation block. It was doing very well until 2019 when they were mostly picking the wrong shows. 2020 was a little better for Toonami, but things are getting worse this year. I wouldn't be surprised if Toonami ends its adult swim run in 2023, which is 11 years since it first premiered.
Probably not toonami just got one piece back and yet it is still successful as a brand and a black for Cartoon Network and adult swim that it won’t shut down due to being 4.7 million views every Saturday night
Or better yet why not run dbz Kai uncut
I watched power rangers sonic and iron man on vortexx when I was little
I cant belive that I was born in 2012 but no vortex or toonzi
I like your history videos are very interesting and some other channels your feature I watch like Cartoon Network boomerang sprout baby first baby TV Qubo Discovery kids in Spanish PBS Kids Nick Jr. Nickelodeon Disney Junior and more
Do the history of ABC Kids The American one of course.
I remember growing up with vortext
Same I remember the commercials and the TV shows
I Remember watching spectacular Spider-Man on vortexx it was a great show. The show was made by sony but there was a tv deal they made that Cw would air it sadly that show ended. Because Marvel bought back the rights to produce Spider-Man cartoons with 22 minute episodes.
However Sony still owns the rights to live action tv shows. And can produce a animated series with 44 minute episodes.
But Sony couldn't legally continue the show because the series currently had 22 minute episodes. Disney now had exclusive titles from marvel so they wouldn't allow sony to continue the show.
@@lllightskindude I loved the spectacular spider-man it was my childhood I’m sad that the show was cancelled after 2 seasons
@@therawmanchannel Yeah me too hopefully Disney lets Sony make season 3 but just increase the episode time or something. Then maybe it could air on amazon or disney plus through a deal.
