As a few of my subscribers explained to me, apparently E.W. Scripps only wanted Ion for its TV stations and wanted to rebrand those stations under Katz Broadcasting's brands. What a terrible excuse to kill off Ion and Qubo.

They are not killing off ion. They bought ion for the main ion channel AND the stations. They don’t care about the subchannels (Qubo, Ion Plus, and Shop Ion.)

I have Cable on some of my t.v.s and I have just regular t.v. in my room since I like better to watch the digital channels nowadays than Cable/Satellite channels especially before I go to bed. I've loved Qubo since 2010. This channel had a lot of beloved cartoons from my sweet childhood. I was born in 1987 and I loved Babar, Paddington, Madeline, and George and Martha Hippo. This channel was like an escape from stressful adulthood to sweet childhood again. So sad they had to take this wondeful channel away. I'll miss it forever.

That's just how iconic Qubo was for us....yes as time progressed, Qubo's programming went to shit but its job was to keep the young kids entertained...and they did a damn good job at doing it. As someone in a different video mentioned I’ll put this here:
    KagomeIsAwesome
    Timeline of Qubo:
    2006-2008: The innocent age
2009-2010: The beginning of a legend
    2011-2015: The golden age
    2016-2020: The major downfall
    2021: The death of Qubo
    My take:
I remember this channel getting really popular when I was around 8 in 2007- that’s when I started to really watch this channel all through my childhood especially in the morning. What a shame this is dead- they never even said anything. It’s poor people tv. It was a huge part of my childhood since it was in my room. We didn’t have cable- also as I aged ion was a big part as it aired movies and the ghost whisperer and those Canadian makeover shows (cried in nostalgia). Now I was looking through my tv and there is nothing (thought there was something wrong with my antenna so I bought another) there the channels are gone both ion and quobo. I just wanted to watch cartoons again- this is so sad- I am now a college student and this was a huge part of my childhood! I will miss these channels so much.
    My cartoons I would watch:
*some of these aired more than others in the timeline mentioned above (depending on what era it was) (some ran the whole course of the channel though)
    Jane the dragon
    Jacob two two
    Pearlie
    Pipí longstocking (stopped 2020)
    Babar
    Mysteries of Alfred hedgehog
My friend rabbit (would air in morning maybe 7 or 8 I was in middle school at the time- I would have this playing as I got ready)
    Pecola
    Marvin the tap- dancing horse
The Zula patrol (Saturday was when I saw this😭😭 2008-2018)
    Rupert
Miss BG (stopped airing 2013 apparently)
Rescue heroes (2021 this year stopped airing)
    Willa’s wildlife (2020)
so some of you might not remember these titles-I’m an old trooper and have been around since the conception of this channel lmao I’m only 21 haha
They even aired old old shows like:
    He-man (stopped 2013)
    She-ra (stopped 2013)
    Archies weird mysteries (2018)
    Magic school bus! (10-2012) (2020-21)

There's a good chance that within 5 years, the majority of Qubo will be lost media. We like to salute the team of non-cable networks and we salute Qubo for being there.
The good news, I can still watch reruns of Inspector Gadget, Masters Of The Universe, Sally Bollywood, Babar, Marvin The Tap-Dancing Horse, Rupert, Grossology, The adventures of Paddington Bear, Classic Bob The Builder, Maggie and The Ferocious Beast, Rescue Heroes, Franklin, and Doki Adventures on sources like CZcams and on Tubi. Since episodes of these cartoons have popped up on CZcams.
But despite all that, we’d like to thank Qubo for all the good memories.
All good things must come to an end as they all say.
In words of Dr. Seuss: “Don’t cry because it’s over, Smile because it happened.”
Farewell, Qubo. You will be missed.

God damn I kept going to my Qubo channel seeing Grit and thinking, "What the hell?" I kept thinking it was temporary and finally got curious enough to look up if it was discontinued. And sadly it is. I was watching Qubo ever since 2006. This is sad but I'm kinda glad. I did not like the shows that were on it as of late and only watched it when the old cartoons were on like Jane & the Dragon, Rubert, Babar, Jacob Two Two, and the like. God I loved those shows especially Jacob Two Two and Jane and the Dragon. I kinda hope that Jane and the Dragon will get a remake but with a more serious tone. Like have a real plot and character development that sticks past a single episode. I always liked Gunther since he was the most complicated character. Sometimes he was a little shit other times he showed real honor and courage. My two favorite Gunther scenes was when he "tripped" over his rag and ruined all his own work to let Jane win a contest they were having because he saw his father sabotage Jane's progress. But the best scene was when he and Jane were scaling a mountain to get a plant to heal Dragon and he finally vented a lot of his frustrations with Jane. To me at least it sounded like his main problem is that he doesn't want to compete with Jane but since she's always aiming to be the best he knows he'll be compared to her and as such has to put in more effort in his knight's training. Now normally this would make him sound lazy but I also remember he has to do work for his father who is a greedy merchant. Gunther has to follow his father's orders and as such between his father's endless chores and squire duties he's probably exhausted most of the time. Or maybe I'm overthinking his character but he's always on the line between an asshole and a somewhat decent person.

Even when my family got cable at one point, me and my siblings kept going back to Qubo and PBS since we found most of the shows on CN and Disney Channel lame (except Nicktoons). Eventually our parents cancelled the cable subscription because we barely even used the cable channels.

I never watched qubo growing up because it wasn't around ( atleast for me) whenever i went to my grandparents house. I only know about it because i remember watching it on tv oneday when i was at the dentist. i will say it is sad that another kids network is being taken down. soon everything will be on streaming platforms and that honestly kinda sucks.
by the way your channel is awesome, keep up the good work! 🙂

I can't say that I'm suprised to be honest. In a world where the internet has taken over basically any form of entertainment I knew that Qubo would die eventually. It's still is very sad, Qubo and PBS Kids where my go-to channels when my family had nothing after moving to Texas. The good ol' days. What I'd do to relive them.

I saw the shutdown video. Apparently, viewers had 4 1/2 minutes to call a number and give money. Of course, they failed and Scripts BLAMED the viewers, including with a "Thanks for Nothing" screen. *DISRESPECTFUL! DISRESPECTFUL, I SAY!*
Now, even though I shouldn't reveal my age, I think it's important here. As of now, I started watching Qubo when I was either 3 or 4. At this time of writing this comment, I am 11.

Also, ION Plus is still on, even after it’s end date. It still shows programming, literally after it’s end date. And BTW, it was not replaced by something (Samsung TV Plus, where I watch it, may use the national feed of the channel).
That means that ION Plus is not dead (yet, as far I know). Also, Samsung TV Plus removed Qubo in February 24th, but still kept ION Plus.

In my early childhood, I had Dish.
Then beginning in 2009, we got Comcast (and later Xfinity) cable.
After that, beginning in 2014, we got Directv.
Then we switched back to cable.
Now we have Firestick and I think we still have Pluto TV.
