@@Music-tf1yn the only thing you would need for an insurance quote is a vehicle VIN, and an LLC. They will base the quote on several factors including where the truck will be parked and your personal driving record.

I've been waiting and counting the days about one year's ago after I establish my LLC but still didn't get active because my insurance quotes was super crazy that was last year. they're asking me upfront 5k and monthly 4k as a first time in commercial insurance and also has accident on my records. I could do it. But I can't wait to May to get rid of it and get out of surcharges. I'm really grateful for all the information that you shared that would really help me a lot.

@@thisismagacountry1318 you would have to call them and get prices to see difference. For me it was better. Also, do your truck insurance to the amount of driving mile coverage you intend to be driving. I showed/emailed 90 days of booked loads and reduced mine coverage to 200 mile range. Saved a lot of money because I only stay working within my 150 air mile circle. With progressive they have 200/250/500 miles or unlimited. Only pay for what you intend to use as for as coverage. One more thing the prices of box trucks have gone up so much that I doubled my value coverage to 80k to match going market prices/only cost @500 more for the year. It was at 40k since that’s what I originally paid for the truck.

I don't think there is a year requirement for insurance company to cover you but the companies that hire you may have a year requirement.

If your record is jacked up, you’ll still be able to drive but either way you try to spin it that DUI is going to increase that insurance rate. You’re seen a a bigger risk for insurance companies.

Mostly, it depends on your age and record. I have 2018 Box Truck that’s worth more than $80K with brand new authority I just got quote from Progressive of $14000 per year for $1000000 general liability. And I will be driving more than 600 miles everywhere

Nope.. pay it yourself. Google both of them. 1 is $59 and the other is $25 or $29. Pay any more than that then you are definitely on the wrong website.

When I tried to do my insurance directly with progressive, premium came over 20k annual , but when I did it thru an agent came down to almost half of that amount !! 🤷🏻♂️

No it will not prevent anything. If you're driving you'll have to be added as driver to be in compliance.

Depends on the state you reside. It can get ridiculous in some states. But that number would definitely be the highest I've ever heard of for 1 truck.
For one truck 2018 Box Truck 26 feet with new authority and will be driving more than 600 miles meaning everywhere. I just got a quote They asked me $14000 per year. I live in Texas. That’s why I do tell people to behave good when they are driving personal vehicles coz you never know one day you might need that record. Which is pretty good

I planned on renting a truck to start my box truck business, i now have to find insurance to activate my authority.. do I have to pay the commercial insurance every month even tho I might only be able to run it every certain weekends out the month because I’m still working my 9-5 right now so I wouldn’t have the time to just run it all week

Some rentals doesn't want yours or want some part of yours and some of theirs especially Ryder, tbey sometimes will even tell you they don't want progressive etc ..It varies per states too.

@@Hardworkbusiness location plays a big part, plus it’s a new authority. So the first year it’s not uncommon for the down payment to be high. Mine was $1800 down first year. Age of truck plays a factor as well.

How high a box truck do you need for amazon and Otr ?
12' 7 " is the lowest I would go. Haven't had any issues with freight at that height. My first truck is 12' 1 inch and that box height has struggles loading Amazon freight with taller stacked pallets.
Good info but my truck is parked 10 miles away from me and it is cheaper there than leaving here at my house! Plus if you can get insurance through USAA they have the best prices I have ever seen!

Whats good Vic I got a way to lower your insurance. On your personnel auto insurance make sure you policy is over $500,000 or a million and you could save over a $1000 bucks or more. That was the case for me. This Cisco150 my other account.
My question is who would need that type of coverage on a personal automobile? I didn't even know they can go that high for coverage.
@@BiggVic In my case the cost was $100 a year for upping mu auto pilicy from $300,000 to a $1,000,000 and saved me over $1000 on my truck insurance. Could be the same for some, any saving is a good thing, just have to see if ill be worth it for some.

@@reezee412 I personally had an anytime mailbox very smooth efficient service. It worked for my LLC but when I tried to get IRP and IFTA they shot me down. As far as insurance I currently have Progressive and I always have as with all insurances they base your rate off of the ZIP Code that your truck is housed at. So when I made my move from Rural North Dakota near Minneapolis Minnesota my rates literally doubled so I called Progressive back and gave him a ZIP Code in a rural area and told them that’s where my truck was how was that. Note; your mailing address/business address. Does not need to be where your truck is located
