In addition to the cost of the Box Truck and Insurance, what's really going to be helpful to viewers is what is required/DOT compliance requirements/operation fees etc. to operate a Box Truck business as well as how do you get loads and cost of maintenance (gas, repairs, is this local routes-intra state, etc., how to get a driver-for those that will not be driving the trucks etc.)

The trucks are expensive for all trucks because of Covid. The manufacturers haven’t been able to get parts for new trucks so these big companies been buying all the used trucks up. The dealers are jacking prices up because of the demand. You should look into logistics. The JR colleges have started degree plans in logistics because logistics pays more than owning trucks. I’m starting a logistics degree program this month. I have an 18 wheeler and trucking company on my fourth year in business. Haven’t activated my authority yet because I had to do a $30k rebuild on my engine. Much love to all the entrepreneurs doing it for yourselves and your families.

I have a barbershop and still cut full time but have 2 days off. Me and my cousin (business partner) are alternating days out of the barbershop and driving 3 days each to cover a 6 day work week on the road. We had to wait until our authority reached 90 days because we were getting terrible numbers...next week we hit the road again...looking forward to seeing what these numbers look like now around peak time. We're in the Philly area.

26ft box truck for RENT in Cali includes: authority, Ins and 250 daily miles
Getting a CDL is hard but not to time consuming, you should get your CDL and learn how to ally dock and blind side back really well, it can be useful especially if you're paying 50,000 for a box truck, you could get newer trucks probably for cheaper or a better price but CDL and trailer required.
I'd purchase a Loves truck stop & build a hotel along side of it somewhere down south

Thanks for sharing your story. Yes trucks pricing are crazy. We ran into two drivers in two brand new Boxtrucks. They had paid 100,000 for each and had to wait 6 months for them. They picked them up in Colorado and were driving to Florida with them. That’s what is going on out here in these Boxtruck streets😩

Someone just brought one for 12,500 and the work cost maybe 6000.00. Licenses and fees all that came up to 21,000.00+. I’m thinking they paid that because of a contract they KNOW they are about to get, OR they have connections on high paying loads UPFRONT, OR They were told to tell you that and the sellers will say the same thing but they may have paid under that price. Just to keep certain hands under that 6%.

Long application go to fmsca website and fill out new Mc authority paperwork.. Takes about 45 minutes or so.

I'm currently in Charlotte, NC trying to get into this box truck business (getting away from hvac). So far $26 to add on to my LLC as a DBA, $300 toward FMCSA, $35 BOC-3, $60.75 UCR. So far I'm under a thousand. But my question is does anyone believe in leasing their box truck vs buying it out? Someone told me it was better to lease because whatever company you least from would cover if the truck ever goes down.

Sometimes if they don't have anymore trucks if yours goes down you'll be out of a truck until it gets fixed.

Well i ran Amazon only my first 90 days. I had bigger paying loads after i started running loads OTR. But no real issues booking freight from that point.

It works great and tracks hours of service and everything else. did I mention that it is free with your rental LOL. You may have to watch some of the online videos to figure out all the workings because my Ryder people weren't too knowledgeable about the way it worked, but it's not hard to figure out. If you are just starting you want to minimize cost as much as possible.

What do you think about a 26 ft Nissan UD Box Truck graded for 33,000 lbs with 200,000 miles and going for $31,000? Would you buy that? I have a CDL.
Im not familiar with that model. But I know Nissan cars last forever just not sure of their commercial truck line.
@@BiggVic Yeah… that was my thought as well. Japanese diesel mechanics aren’t as common, but we do have them in the DFW area… Getting parts is a bit more difficult, too, in the event of a repair being needed.
Hey vic my application is pending for amazon relay. If I get approved can I send my 1 employee to do the loads for me? I am excluded from the insurance policy I only have my 1 employee on there. I do have workers compensation. Will that work for me? I don't want to get involved with the relay as much. I want my employee to handle everything like it was his company. If it's possible how would that work when he arrives to speak to the staff?

What would you say a reasonable amount to drop on a box truck in today's market. 9f course I'm in South Carolina
For some reason I rarely purchase vehicles in S. C. They always have the most astronomical numbers for any vehicle. And I'm sure they are price gouging around here. Many factors play a roll for what's decent. The range now is 30k and up 250k miles and under would be decent at those prices. International, Hino, Freightliner, Kenworth.

When u hire a driver do u pay them by the mile or a percentage of the weekly net gross?
That’s completely up to you and your business model. You have to do what fits your situation. I’d research both and weigh the pros and cons.
