Enterprise, Budget, and Penske are all great options when looking to start your box trucking business. Having a good reliable box truck for your business is one of the most important, and expensive things for your business. Make sure you're finding the most reliable box truck, so you can run these loads and make your business profitable.
Driving for dollars, amazon relay, having a dispatcher, and finding loads on the load board are also going to be great options when looking for loads.
Always look for a 26 foot box truck with lift gate, worst case scenario you can get away with a 24 foot box truck.

Timothy Williams Jr, yes I will but I still don’t know how to go about the boc3 and ucr without a vin number
When ordering your Boc3 you don’t need to put in a truck vin number. Click the links in my description on “how to start a box trucking video” to apply.

@@TimothyWilliamsJr through penske if you rent in ny for example and option to return in nj they give u unlimited miles no charge. As long as you option for the return in another state they wont charge.
I live right at the jersey border so i rent from ny but i option to return to jersey(6 miles from my house) they give unlimited miles let ppl know it might save them alot of money. Its quite possible it works with more companies i.e enterprise.
Your comment has great strength because so many feel this way. With automation on the brink of impacting the economy, the results are either going to make it easier or more difficult for the owner operator in any sector.
@@keribarley For sure, I believe that the automated trucks won't affect owner operators for years. The reason I say that is because there are a lot of things that are required from the driver besides just driving the truck.
Yet we all still go to work ….maybe if we all just stopped…😏
Thanks Tim. Lots of great info on this video. I currently am an O/O of a sprinter type van and looking to go with a non cdl truck.

@Timothy Williams Jr first of all awesome video very great information. My question for you (and maybe you covered it but not sure) if I lease would I still need to go get a DOT number , and will still follow all the same steps of starting a box truck if I was buying a truck . What is the difference starting a box truck with your own truck vs starting with leasing a box truck . Thank you
Thanks for the info.. so leasing or renting is not a bad idea as some say it is
No problem, everyone’s market is different some are higher then others. You just have to determine if it makes financial sense for you and your business.
Great content
Thank you for the support!
I would do mounth to month the first year .to build knowledge and contacts within the industry as well I would look at the rental place insurance because you can get the insurance at least 20 percent cheaper especially of you are allotting 10 to 15000 miles per month.

Thank you for this informative video I will definitely keep some of these gems in mind. Just so you know I did a price check through enterprise yesterday for 26' Box truck in Central California and here are the numbers, they wanted $3000 a month and 25 cents a mile and if I went through their insurance which didn't cover cargo it would be $1300 a month with a $2500 deductible up to $5000 deductible.
No problem, thank you sharing that information it seems a bit high but that may just align with the cost of living in California lol
I did a quote to it was 4350 a month .25 cent a mile
Clayton Castrogiovanni That’s crazy, how do they expect anyone to make any money? You would still have to pay for insurance, driver pay, fuel etc
If u place your return spot on a rental in another state no mileage charge
I did the same investigation and was give 2600 per month, and insurance was approx 1900 with a 2500 deductible. I went the route and bought used freightline with 260k miles on it and did some maintenance towards the truck.
I would never personally lease a truck since your throwing money away, but that is me and it's all written off at the end of the day.
I have an updated example for you. Considering that box trucks are scarce in rental form and I’m repairing my credit to purchase a box truck soon. I’m running a Penske rental at 1250 per week and .25 per mile, if I took their insurance it would be 70 per day. Pretty high overhead, but I’m profitable still. Not where I want to be net, but i know once I can get a better lease or even purchase, I’ll have way better profit margins.
Thank you for the example fam, keep pushing out there 💪🏽

What are some locations you searched for your first box truck? What are the best mileage to look for?
Commercialtrucktrader.com is where we bought ours, we traveled from Michigan to Pennsylvania it was a 2013 Ford 650 with 182,000 miles for only $16K. Personally I wouldn’t buy a truck over 300K because once it hits 300K miles is when they tend to have a overhaul.
🤠 my name is Willie Willie Peavy this video was very helpful thank you have a blessed day
Thank you Willie for the support, have a good one!
What insurance do i need. Dosent renral branch sell insurance?
One important detail/question…CDL Vs. Non CDL. There is a critical difference. Personally I find that a CDL Box truck is more advantageous, I’m not limited on my load choices. I also have HazMat, Tank and TWIC which lend to my earning potential. What is your take on this?
I agree with you that you have more advantages, but also if it’s a box truck that requires a CDL I would rather go and get a semi because you have a lot more options as far as running freight.
CDL is not require for most single rear axle 26001 GVWR , but yes having hazmat is good and twic just even better. Tanker which I have is of no use for you if your driving a box only. Also for something like local routes or amazon you do not need a big box truck to carry 6 -14 pallets around imho.
Thanks for ur video i am asking where can driver sleep ?
Some box trucks have sleepers in them, or they can get a room.
What do you think about international brand? They also have cummins engine
Anything with a cummins engine is a good truck, as long as you stay on top of the maintenance!
Hi bro. I haven’t heard you mention Suzuki trucks. I’d like to get your opinion. Thank you 🙏
I’ve never had anyone personally purchase a Suzuki so i’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing lol
I living California ….Sacrmento Stockton
You know what’s dope his videos are filmed from inside the box truck that’s the true secret
Lol I didn’t know if you would notice!

Credit score as in Business score or your personal? Thanks in advance.
Can you also comment on some of the driver related activities? How does that work, when the driver goes out of town with a load- where do they stay, who pays for the expenses, what is the pay? Also where do you keep the truck when not running, is there a typical parking spot?
When drivers go out of town you can pay for their room and board. When starting off a company like “RTS Financial” will approve you for fuel cards that you can give your drivers & then you can work with hotels to get discounts since you have your own trucking company. The pay for your drivers is entirely up to you, you can pay by the hour or % based pay. Lastly you can pay for parking at fuel stations, Uhaul, etc.
Thank you so much. How do you go about recruiting drivers? Any more details on what kind of pay structure is typical for drivers (base pay, benefits etc)?
Ajit Pharne No problem, you can recruit drivers from facebook, craigslist, or even paid ad’s on indeed! Honestly the pay structure is based on a number of things, how much time their away from their family, how much your expenses are just a number of factors play into that question. #1 thing I can tell you is to make sure they are well taken care of pay them at-least 20% of what you’re making after expenses & they will never leave you!
What's a good insurance company for starters In the box truck hustle and/or agent?
Just let her know I sent you she will take great care of you, and shop around for the best rates.

Quick question after I get everything settled with the truck and insurance and etc., what website do I go to to start making deliveries
m.czcams.com/video/Dib7eiOSlBY/video.html
If renting a box truck how do I go about putting the dot and mc decals on the side?
Order the magnets that you can stick on the sides.
Would a step in van like a fedex Truck bring in around the same price or no
I’m not sure, haven’t heard of many people using those for business purposes.
Can my husband start a box business if he has a wet reckless on his record?
I want to ask you a question I have a girlfriend who has her own business and she is bringing me on and she wants to get a step van and get a non CDL truck to get supplies should we buy or lease a box truck hire a driver
How do you find a lease on any of these big companies? Do you call them? This will be helpful video
Craigslist, call them, ask drivers at truck stops, just to name a few!
What is the milage cap to purchase would you recommend?
Personally wouldn’t purchase anything over 300K mikes.
Hey great video I’m thinking to go n box business . Why kind drivers linces you need to drive a 26 ft box truck and I don’t know if there’s different 26ft box truck well I would like so much if you can answer my question have great day
As long as your box truck is under 26,000 lbs GVWR then all you need is a standard drivers license, and a DOT medical card. If the truck is over the 26,000 lbs then you will need a CDL.
Thank you have blessed day
You as well.
Hey, thanks for the information. I am in between a 26ft box truck non CDL & Tractor Trailer. I have class A CDL at the moment. But I see it is money in box trucks also. Which would you prefer me to start my trucking company with?
Tractor trailer all day, the only reason I started with a box truck is because it would be easier to hire drivers.
There is more opportunity, and money in semis especially if you already have your Class A CDL.
Same here, but the cost of Semi's, trailers, and fuel are too high right now.
Me personally, I'm going to buy a refrigerated, sleeper box truck with the cash I have, run it for a few years, then buy a semi(Peterbilt 389) and a refrigerated trailer brand new with the profit from my box truck.
I don't finance or lease anything boys, I buy it with cash 100% "Cash is King" boys.
This video was knowledgeable thanks bro but is there a way to speak with you over the phone I have questions

Sounds cliche but google, and asking others in the industry.
What is the best method to pay drivers....%, miles, per trip or flat per day??
I have a video on “how to find drivers” & it goes over how to pay your drivers as well, I’m sure it will answer your question.
m.czcams.com/video/Erq6WUZ-4fg/video.html
I have looked into leasing.. Budget and Enterprise told me had to be in business for at least 2yrs.... How do I go buy leasing starting my business, drive Co semi want my very own trucking company.
That’s weird, a friend of mine started renting a truck through enterprise right after getting his DOT/MC number!
Enterprise is charging 750 a week in Pennsylvania with 1000 free miles a week.
That's not too bad.
What about Isuzu box trucks? Those are the cheapest I've found so far. Chevys are on the low end price wise as well.
I personally like Ford, or Freightliner. I'v never really seen anyone on the road with a 24 or 26 ft I normally see smaller versions of the Isuzu.

Bro which class of box truck is good ? They have like class 5,6,7? Which is good bro ?
You would get a Class 6, with a class 6 you can haul UP TO 26,000lbs without a CDL. Anything above a class 6 would need a CDL to operate.
