- One of the biggest expenses in the world of owner operator trucking will be your commercial trucking insurance. These companies will jump up premiums for no apparent reason, so make sure you shop around. This was terrible. So it's time to say goodbye!! Enjoy.

Aye Vic. Who do you recommend for new authority insurance? And what's the link for your consultation?
@@simonwoodson424 www.calendly.com/biggviccoaching ……unfortunately Progressive commercial is at the top for new authorities.. Check with an Agent Like Marquee Insurance Group
Thanks. Also I heard that you can attach a personal vehicle to your mc and let the authority run up for 90 days and THEN get a truck. Is this possible?
I'm really contemplating booking a session... I just retired from the military after 20 years in logistics and started my first " job." and I tell you what... this is not IT.
@@simonwoodson424 I know about vans but not sure about a car
You are so right, I'm going through it right now
Bro the knowledge you give is truly priceless I trust every word you speak
Big Vic with the vital knowledge. Thanks bro
I appreciate the info Brother. Keep up the hustle.
Sound's like starting a commercial truck insurance company would be a lucrative venture.
Bro, I don't even have a box truck, and the insurance for my car went from $670/6mo to $1200+/6mo for no reason. None. No accidents, tickets, or anything.
They might need to change their name from Progressive to Aggressive.🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
BIG FACTS 😂 lmao
Subscribed to your channel 3weeks ago and I appreciate your content. I’m looking to pivot into the trucking industry, I’m a contractor who has a logistics business where I deliver freight from my cargo van.
Who you end up getting your insurance from? It's very frustrating to pay high premiums.
I have Great West Casualty now. ✌🏾
@@BiggVic Thank you ,I will call them up.
@@BiggVic They don't insure cargo vans, only do box trucks & 18 wheelers.
Finally someone answers my question lol
Here's something that has been happening for the past couple of weeks. Brokers are refusing to let you pull their freight if you have Progressive. They are saying Progressive isn't paying claims the way they are supposed to. I'm guessing it's the Cargo ones. KCH and Axle are two. Axle will only let you pull certain ones. I'm shopping today because of it. I have 4 semis and a 2 box truck running under me. Also, I heard it has less to do with age of Authority and more to do with age on DOT.
I’ve lost so much money having Progressive insurance. Made plenty but lost just as much. You are spot on about Axle. I kept wondering why certain loads they wouldn’t let me run. I’m dropping a new video with my new insurance company by next week. My new agent said Progressive uses third party companies to do their claims and takes months so brokers are staying away from them. Plus they are taxing new carriers heavy in these streets because they are a big fish in a small pond of insurance companies that will insure new authorities. I’m so glad I made it through those first few years. I asked my new agent was she ready for a good year lol…
Just got a new quote with progressive and 14000 more. It’s getting crazy
Yo its time for another call. i just got an offer from Lowes…6-900 a day 7days a week. They are desperate for trucks. LETS GO! Time to grow!
Nice!!👍🏾
Bro I have progressive to ready to switch also
I live in PA that’s my biggest concern is insurance.
Check out Canal you pay as you go with free ELD. If your truck is not moving your liability drops.
One of my mentees just told me she has Canal also. 👍🏽
Big 3, Fuel, Driver Pay, Insurance and in that order. Also, if you have the title to your vehicle that’s a coverage you don’t have to have.
Aint no way you posted this right after my down payment dawg 💀
Man progressive wanted me gone as well. They quoted damn near 8k/month for a 16' semi and 14' box truck😂.
Just realized its histroy repeating itself. Nothing but a damn cycle on how every business get a turn to eat, and im hungry as hell smelling the food cooking in the kitchen catching hunger pains😂
I’m in Texas. From what I seen it was on average 10k.
My progressive regular insurance went up on my car
Yea i have a clean record 1 truck 2 drivers and progressive quoted me TODAY for $2850 per month! 1 year of authority here
Their new name is AGRESSIVE Commercial 🤦🏾♂️
MC/DOT in hand
Im on with OTR solutions
bro commercial auto is so hard to get , everybody leaving california too
Can I ask what insurance your going to now… got a crazy quotes from progressive ?
How long have you been in business? If less than 2 years they won’t insure a new company.
Oh okay it’s a new authority
Let us know who you end up going with
I gotcha!! 👍🏾💯
They charge me 35000 for 2 truck 2013 hino 2015 freightliner with them for 2 years I drop them last year progressive will put you out of business I hope these truckers stop posting what they make this is what makes insurance higher and Broker rate lower thousands of box truckers go out of business because of this
What company do you use now?
Facts..progressive will rob you without a gun especially when you're starting off!!damn near out me out of business to with their high ass insurance
Marquee
What is monthly with marquee insurance group? If u don’t mind me asking
Big vic question just revived my DOT numbers. fresh to the trucking business any recommendations for any good companies to start with ?
Do a search on indeed.com for 26’ box truck contracts. Also Craigslist. DAT load board may be tough with a newer authority if it doesn’t have the age on it still. Give those a shot. ✌🏾
I've been with progressive for 2 yrs,box truck is 1700 a month still 😢Ive been wanting to switch out but with 😢who
I’ll definitely let y’all know who I switch to next week.
Aye @BigVic do u have to have an IFT in the straight truck business?
Do you mean IFTA? If so not for Non Cdl trucks under 26k gvw. CDL trucks 33k gvw yes.
😂 yea that's what I mean, thanx
What do you think is better buisness plan?I have my cdl b air break and hazmat endorsements plus a Twic card should I look into loads like hazardous materials or start a moving businesses specifically only for moving what’s your opinion????????
That insurance demo has a great opportunity to kill your business. If you let it.
What's the name of the insurance you have now? I'm thinking of leaving Theift-gressive too
Still with Aggressive until next month. I’ll drop another video with new company after I switch. 👍🏽
if you have a new authority and your truck is paid off and you don't want to drive so you get a driver, is it possible to still make a profit if your calling around and actually contacting brokers or would that be a dumb move ?
That’s the ideal scenario most people look for. No payments and a driver, find the work and you’ll be fine. Biggest overhead would be fuel, driver, insurance.
@@BiggVic appreciate it brotha💯I work and have a truck but just wanted to know if it was good to put a driver in thanks again Vic‼️💯
I have progressive grade A it’s already high I’m paying more than you for one truck I hope they don’t go up and I have a 1998 ford F-700
😳🤦🏾♂️
@@BiggVic Bro it was my first year which was last year jumped in with my head and feet…my authority was knew so you know how Amazon play with my situation it was very stressful year
Progressive knocked my head off..started off paying 1800 a month for 1 semi .they went up to damn near 4000 the next year.with no across t and no changes
🤦🏾♂️😱 That's crazy!!
Quick question vic, of a load is paying let’s say $800 for a load going 700 miles is that considered a good load or does it depend on your cost per mile?
I’ve been doing this for about 2 years now and I’d say no $800 for 700 miles is terrible because that’s 1.14 a mile. You typically want to at least get $2 and up a mile to cover gas and expenses
Vic, do you think its possible to build a half million dollar business in 5
years
Of course.. with the right work. Some have done it in way less time. 🤫
Please keep us updated on who you go with. Progressive smoking crack or something.
They heavy on something fam lol!!! 💯
Insurance is a business expense. Tax write off.
