Whenever youâre ready, here are a few other ways I can help you:
1. Read a new book with me every month
At the start of every month, Iâll announce a new nonfiction book Iâm going to read. Every week after that, Iâll email you one lesson Iâve learned from the book and a discussion question to help us reflect on it. 2. Check out the books Iâve written
Outside of CZcams, Iâm also an author. I write short books on topics that relate to digital reading, but also self development. You can find my books here: go.maneetpaul.com/books

I have never understood the "location" number. In earlier version of Kindle, it had a progress bar at the bottom showing how far you are relative to the end of the book. That's more useful than most.
I wish they had a progress bar! Seems like such a simple and useful feature to have. Kobo has it!
@@Maneetpaul That's why I am using my Kobo Libra H2O instead of my Kindle Paperwhite.
For the life of me I donât know why you canât have a âpage x of yâ at the bottom of the page or even have one on the bottom left vice just the page
RIGHT!?
Kobo has "page # of #" feature. If the book is Kobo Epub format, it shows "screen # of #". So if you enlarged your font, the total number of screen clicks will change accordingly, which makes more sense than physical book pages. In Kindle, the page number may not change for several screen swipes.
@@HHuynh-DP true but the kindle is smart enough to know what page I am on regardless of font size. Same thing with percentage read.

I love all your videos, subscribe to your channel, and always give them a thumbs up. Today I decided to leave you a note to say thank you. You are a real inspiration and have helped me become a better reader. You are the MKBHD of Kindles.
Thank you so much, Armand! đđœ
I just got my new Kindle Oasis yesterday, mostly on your recommendations. Also fixed a lot of settings that you suggested! I'd love to see a review of Notable vs. Evernote, maybe.
Nice!! I hope you're enjoying the Oasis! I'll add that to my list of video ideas, thanks for the suggestion!
Underrated channel. I recently bought a basic kindle. Thank you!
Thank you for watching! Enjoy the Kindle!!
Margins can be useful when you don't want the text to spread out to the sides to much, if you want to keep the text centered. This can be handy in e.g. speed reading, especially when learning and practicing speed reading.
I love the ability to make themes, I have several already for different types of books
Itâs such a useful feature!
Bruh I love your videos I bought the oasis because of you đđ now I actually read now. Itâs so convenient having a oasis with the headache of heavy books. Iâm gonna try different font settings thanks
So glad youâre reading more!! Enjoy the Oasis âșïž Thanks so much for watching my videos!
This was very helpful. Thanks so much
I recently put the time at the top. I find it useful as I read in bed but donât have a clock to check the time (having glowing lights in the room from a clock disturbs my sleep). I may turn it off at some point but for now I like it.
I like to adjust the margins for what my eyes take in, in a glance, which makes my reading speech faster.
I never considered speed reading purposes before. That makes sense!
I bought a kindle paper white signature , but I couldnt really find the font changi g option. I could only find orientation and margin option in lay out bar. What do you recoomend ?
I have adjusted the width when reading on a tablet because I found the book was too wide for my eyes. Sometimes I even set the tablet on its side and set the layout to have two columns . I donât have to mess with this on my oasis, but that is why it might be there.
Larger margins are great for speed reading so your eyes have to travel less horizontal distance when starting a new line. I use that a lot :)
Thatâs a very good point. I donât know much about the world of speed reading but it seems very interesting. Will have to look into it!
Ohw whhahaha I just made a very similar comment and now see yours :P Exactly!
I definitely love and need the clock on the page. I wish I could customise its size.
Some customization options would be so useful!
Hello! Watched most of your videos, helped me get started with my first kindle! However I have something strange: the margins are really narrow for the book I bought which is annoying. This is the widest margin option but still the text is in the middle of the page. Any ideas?
Hi friend, can i read regional language (Gujrati) pdf books on kindle?
I am new to the kindle & I am planning to buy this mainly for reading regional pdf (Gujarati) books....
Please share your views.
Thanks.
Love your work â€
I purchased a kindle in the USA but i am moving back to India now, how can i change the formatting and kindle location? please help
Awesome! Does it calculate on average how long it takes you specially to read a page or does it just an average time generally? They should have a setting that shows pages left till just the end of the book minus the random index and appendix stuff!
I agree!! I really wish they had an accurate page count minus the appendix stuff. I believe the way it works is it will analyze the first few pages you read and then calculate an estimated reading speed for the rest of the book.
My clock time is always turned on. Thankyou for making great videos.
I just both a kindle oasis in India in this 26 july 2021 prime day sale. All your reviews helped take the decision.
Is there a way to see time left in chapter for the ebook pdf that I have sent over email with convert to kindle?
For pdf books, Kindle shows the percentage of the text that you have already covered.
Thanks so much for the kind words! And yes, the percentage should be there, like Christy said!
I love the ability to have the clock on my kindle. I feel like when I read physical books, I spend way more time picking up my phone to check the time. One feature that I truly donât understand is dark mode. I know some people love the white text on black but it strains my eyes so badly.
I think the dark mode is for when you read in bed at nighttime and don't want to disturb your partner with brightness from the Kindle.
Iâm getting married soon and will be moving in with my soon to be wife. Iâm sure I can put that dark mode to use then haha. Will report back if it works đ
Congrats on the wedding! I just turn down the brightness and up the warmth when I read in the dark and it doesnât disturb my husband at all.
I always used the bookerly and never even gave it a second thought. Now I wanna try these other ones đ
Haha it's worth exploring!
Nice
Thanks!
IS IT LANDSCAPE MODE???
Ah no itâs not lol
Haha good guess!
Having the time at the top of the page is not at all distracting, it is small and very discreet, you can hardly see it unless you really look for it. Everything is 'normal'. I see no reason to change anything, I read what is in front of me and as long as it is clear and easy to read, it suits me
sir when I register in kindle it depicts internal error what should I do
